Just finished the new update, and i liked it... A lot.
All except for the ending, that was a huge kick in the groin..

Curious about what is going to happen now.

Don't mind that at all, but for the love of god... I really hope that they are not going to fuck this awesome game up with crazy story turns....
This is the only game that i'm hoping for a "happily ever after" Scenario..

Yes it was but looking back at it. They had set out a lot to do this day. With the things they set up on day 13 and the preview images they showed. It would have been impossible (and maybe unrealistic) to solve the mother issue completely today. However with Lucas out of the picture they needed another bad 'guy'. The mother being a controling, lying manipulative bitch works. This sets up quite a few chapters to resolve this. We have the work situation that is going to be moved more to the foreground so inevitably the daughter needed to be moved more to the background. This was a good if not perfect way to do it. In chapter 14 he focuses on the marina file for work when that is done he realizes that D isn't comming back. Then he flies out to get her. This is how i see this progress. The father just needs to be carefull on how he handles the situation. This will also mean that most likely no corruption points can be gained in the next few updates. But it does set things up for the bond to be even stronger between D and F. So likely after that oral is possible He allready kissed her there and she kissed him there so it isn't a huge leap. Full on sex will be a while for sure but there is a lot they can do before they reach to that point.

Strongly disagree and how exactly is he going about to making sure Dad gets to daughter? Some magical carpet trick? Find hard to believe to do this and still have strong focus on Daughter and father if the daughter is in a new country. Are you saying somehow the dad manages to pull some miracle out of the blue?



So what you are saying is you ended the main focus of the game to go back and "Fix" things in the Chapter and then add a mechanic that isn't even remotely useful in any way possible? The whole job thing doesn't fit in unless you started implementing that from the start which you obviously failed. So now you changed the focus from doing main game mechanics to something that is not needed at all? I am perfectly fine without a job mechanic and I am sure most patreon's would agree too. Especially if it means you ended progress to the main plot.

Also this statement here you put kinda goes against the statement previously stated further up in quote. So you say you are working on touching up Chapter 1 but somehow you are doing Chapter 2 content? I seeing some major holes in this method of game development.

I love the ending. It was something I was pushing for as an outcome back on February or March, though I doubt the only genesis of the idea for MrDots. Its implementation has such a Ben Braddock and Elaine Robinson feel from The Graduate that it is delightful. Now, as to the second point, you place the onus on MC to fix this issue. This would fit if MC were the only protagonist - and would be like Dustin Hoffman arriving at the church. However, D has become, at least, a co-protagonist. I personally was worried the whole other country was being thrown out - and the MC/D separation would never happen. If that were the case, a plethora of dramatic conflicts would be lost. But now they are back, and with a vengeance. I am giddy like a schoolgirl!

I just don't see how career paths is going to be implemented so late in the game's creation. It should've been done from the gecko and it seems MrDots has his story all over the place. For a game that is titled Dating My Daughter I expect the game to focus on the Father / Daughter or Mother / Daughter on that alone. It's fascinating b/c there is zero necessity for the career paths choice.

That is basically the definition of "Milking out Patreons". It would all be good if the content scaled like it should and not do what its doing. For very long time I heard mostly negative things about DMD. Went into 0.12 and loved it. The ending for 0.13 and MrDots focus is not good at all. It's a porn game and people will leave if the game doesn't meet up to those expectations. Surprised the game lasted as long as it did. If I had been playing this from Version 0.01 and ended up with 13Months of patches like that was released. It's a bit embarrassing for MrDots as a developer.

Interesting how this game is just "milking" and yet "will lose patrons" all from going back to the two career paths. I predict it will lose patrons and MrDots already knows that. This is a design and artistic choice that MrDots wanted to have from the beginning, regardless of the possible loss of some patron support. I would prefer the story to progress, but, as on other issues where I posted my concerns in Patreon, MrDots succeeded and excelled and I was more than pleasantly surprised by the outcome.

They could never let anyone know what is going on so if it did turn into a full on relationship they would have to cut all ties with everyone they know and leave the town.

This is not quite true. Its your life, you can grow a pair of ballsacks and let everyone know about the relationship. Sure you would probably become the town gossip but you can also just tell people to fuck off. The only legality issues is marriage, the bedroom police do not exist between two consenting adults.

Does daughter deserve to be with someone her own age, who she has a chance at kids with, who she doesnt have to deal with the social taboo aspect? Of course. Thats one of the reoccurring themes both F and D struggle with. Admittedly D struggles more with it and F is the one trying to keep it going using reasoned arguments. But I feel for the F, at this point he has just thrown up his hands and said fuck it. He has accepted the temptation and doesnt think about it too much anymore.

Nah i see them back at the december update. they may even include a holiday seasonal episode in it. Also i would not be surprised that when the D and F are back together Chapter 1 ends and 2018 starts with chapter 2

Those career paths probably will be implemented using the same dad's co-workers but in different positions. This is going to be a good feature for the finished game, you will be able to choose dad's job from the beginning. The problem is players are more interested in solving dad's problems in advancing his relationship with his daughter than in seeing side features of the game implemented at this point. (But devs should address this issue sooner or later)

I am angry with the way version 0.13 finished, and with the prospect of not seeing any significant event involving D and F for the next couple of updates, but I understand the developers need to implement the career paths.

You are right @Aitan_3 we will just have to watch and see. I did like 0.12 version. And had a good liking to it contrary to how much hate I showed in last few statements. I just find it ridiculous for a dev to try to implement Career paths. You say the code is all ready? That would require an entire new Github Depository or something to make that happen. And subtle updates to that as well to the main one that is being used and released to public.

Well hopefully the updates you claim do only take a few updates. But unless what I said earlier is done its not going to happen in 2 updates. That's a cold hard fact. Especially when the code isn't really there to begin with. But I am hoping more action with the father and Daughter. I understand for the slow crawl and one of the things that made me like it in 0.12. But after reading what happened in 0.13 is almost an insult to someone who just got into the game.

When I said I known pledgers for the game I said they used to pledge but dropped it due to recent events. I didn't mean still pledging now. Some people pledge longer than they should to see if the dev turns around and does a fix. They give them a chance. Don't we all agree people should be given second chances to some degree.

I'm confused. What happened in 13 that is an insult. Did I miss something?

Chapter 2 will start once chapter 1 gets a final polishing. Might take one or two updates. Sorry you think chapter 1 ended in a horrible way. Sorry you think other job routes are useless. As for the way F will manage to reunite with D, sorry you'll have to wait to know. Everything aside, you seem full of rage about this game; if it displeases you so much, maybe it's not the right game for you, and you should play something else. Sorry about that too.

So that was the chapter 1 ending? I thought it was a great cliffhanger but if we got to wait months for pointless shit like career paths for chapter 2 to begin, I dont see subs sticking around. We are playing DMD, not the sims 3 pick your own career path. That seems like something nice to add after you have a finished product.

I am a leecher myself so take what I have to say with a grain of salt. But I pirate everything not just DMD, though this content lives and dies on subs I admit.

So checking MrDots page and I am not seeing a list of developers / team members responsible for creating the game. It's not on the main description or anywhere. So Please direct me to the post that shows mention of each member's responsibility. I am a bit curious and I have checked his patreon page. Sad part is 90% of the patreon page is locked behind pledger only content. So you can't actually see if there is any discontent in those posts.

Look on the public post of the game - it lists credits - as does the patreon release posts.

I don't care about missing new sexual updates in the coming future with F/D, really don't.
At his point it's more that you spent so much time in this game (I play the whole game from scratch every update).
So at this point it's the same like a good tv show for me, you've seen the 2 grew closer and closer in the last 12 updates, and now far apart.
And yeah, absence makes the heart grow fonder like i said.... But it's still a kick in the groin because you invested the last year in this game..
And it makes for a good story, but the danger with this is that he drags DmD out so much that the he loses Patreons and Abandons the game before it's finishes. (something you see on a daily bases with Adult Themed games)
I became a pledge after the 0.2 update, and still am one and will stay one because this is one of the best adult games out here... Period..... But i really really hope (like i said before)that this game is not going to end in a disaster..

Do you truly believe the father, or even by extension, the player cares anything about the daughter?

I'll tell you now, neither the father nor the players that want the father to end up with the daughter give the slightest shit about her.

All he/you care about are your own feelings and urges. The daughter could live a far happier life with someone that genuinely loves her, get married and have kids without any issues whatsoever stemming from who she's with but rather than think about her happiness you lot just think of your own dicks.

And people lie to themselves and call this a love story. That isn't love, that's pure selfishness. As long as he/you are happy then everything is fine, fuck her life and future.

I dont think anyone actually gives a shit about career paths. This game is called DMD not select one of three careers and wait months for them to be fleshed out. We already have more then enough branching options with harem vs pure dynamic. Dad is a corporate executive. If the next months are going to be fleshing out Dad being a freelance programmer and Dad being a doctor, that is probably the worst possible choice for this game. Like who actually gives half a shit what dads job is? Anyone?

Hopefully dots doesnt abandon the project if the career path development turns for the worst. But if he does, oh well. My life doesnt revolve around DMD just another failed TV show I got into pretty much.
