I don't want to argue about the general point - considering something predicable tends to be subjective and the genre does have its staples - but I find it really curious that you felt that the last episodes of DMD were more predicable than the older ones. I mean, I think that both Rachel's arrival at the end of v0.12 and D's departure at the end of v0.13 qualify as proper plot twists (nobody predicted them on this board I think) and to be honest I can't think of similarly unexpected events happening during previous days. So, finding DMD predictable ON THE WHOLE I can understand, but arguing that DMD is getting MORE predicatble as time passes by surprises me. Maybe it's just a matter of players getting used to characters?
Rachel coming and taking D away was predicted by quite a few people here, including myself, after whichever version D and Rachel conversed via video chat. If you mean during version 2 or 3 did anyone predict mom interfering, then there were people just shooting shit like "man the mom is gonna come and ruin this" so even before the video chat there were whispers of it. Therefore, I don't see Rachel as a twist whatsoever. What I think can be said about the story, when comparing older versions with newer, is that in the older versions we didn't have a solid direction for how things were going to move along. As each new version came the direction became clearer and so in general, things could be predicted/expected more easily.
Imo, stories written as romances are fairly predictable and hard to insert good plot twists. Also, there hasn't been a dark or mysterious element added to the game to give a sense of unpredictability.
The best plot twist, imo, for this game wouldn't be received well by the community as a whole and that is D isn't actually your daughter but the daughter of Rachel and Brad?(the guy Rachel cheated with). The next best twist, again imo, would be that Brad is a master manipulator and has been manipulating Rachel since the very beginning. F exposes this and you get back with Rachel and convince her it's alright to go 3-way with D. I'm sure fans would like my 2nd twist over my 1st, but combining the two would work out nice.
