So let me get this straight, someone outed MrDots to Patreon because reasons (they were angry about something?) and now they won’t let him crowd fund DmD because they are a bunch of prudes? Am I in the ball park? Can someone explain it to me please?
I’ve been gone from this conversation for some time and came back to this. I hope MrDots can come up with a solution. Maybe run a Kickstarter campaign every month and make money that way, funding parties can provide an email for first crack at the new game while the rest of us wait a bit, and get rid of the tiered rewards. The campaign can just be “funding the arts” and that’s that.

if he turns his page into 3d art page that would comply with all those patreon rules,in all logic,they could do jack squat to ban the page,there's absolutely no reason to ban him if he never mentions anything related to dmd and instead starts to create simple unrelated erotic wallpapers for example...what he does with the patreon money outside their page is none of their business,using their logic they could also tell him that they will ban his page if he buys new diesel...

It is better to just accept that. Mr Dots just needs to add a new day and let us fuck D so at least we get some closure.
The only reason it was taking him this long to finish the game anyways was because he was trying to milk it for as long as possible...Well that is not an option anymore so just finish the game.

Patreon doesn't allow step relations.
Also rule 5 says "We are an English only community. Please provide a translation with your post if its not in English"

And they could indeed do that, as far as I know. It's dumb as hell, but it's up to them, ultimately.
He could finish the game with 1 Update and release it here and on loverslab etc. I think he made allready good money with that game. it´s a question of honor + the update was planed for this saturday. so it should be finish. we will see. i think the game is dead. Because it was never about the game for the Dev

Kickstarter doesn't allow any pornography at all. I suppose it makes things clearer than Patreon's "it's okay as long as it doesn't have anything we don't like", but doesn't really help in this mess. Kickstarter's Drip might be something useful when it actually launches, but the chances of them having a more liberal policy regarding allowable content than their parent company are rather slim.

He regularly runs kickstarters for them. Even accomplished comic creators have had kickstarters for what would be considered porn comics in the US, like Sex & Violence from Jimmy Palmiotti.
The no-Porn rule isn't as strict as one might think.
I didn't get it. how in this case other biggest projects survived? like Big brother or Dream of desire ?

BB is already down and Dark Silver unlike Mr. Dots has shelved the game for now.
As for DoD, no incest in the name. No character that looks like a little girl and the dev very carefully removed anything relating to incest from patreon far as I can see.
Nothing says he can't be their next target though.
At first most people thought they would only go after the smaller projects and that games like DoD, DmD and BB made them too much money so they would be safe with small changes, but that has now definitely been proven wrong.
