I'll give you a piece of advice, try to see your game as a whole before starting to code it in ren'py to avoid recoding it after a certain progress. If it's linear, it won't be too much of a problem.
One thing I do before coding Renpy is a outline my game out in a software program called. yED Graph Editor.

Its free and lets me write out who the characters are, what they say to each other, and what happends if you click on specific link. I also write out the full outline in Word. It helps a lot to know before hand what is going to happen and how.

Nope. Step 4: Free on F95 :ROFLMAO:
Thanks for the funny comments. Thanks to god I am doing well and making a decent living.

These 3 are for my learning and not making money. I may not put anything on Patreon or so. I may post it at f95zone if I ever get that far.
Funnily I started this to kill time when I took a break in 2018 and was looking for a job afterwards. But its stuck to me. I can now only do decent renders only. But would definitely want to learn renpy. I may not be able to write a story as I am not too creative. As far as VN goes can only do it when I have learnt Renpy but can surely work on creating comics if someone has a nice storyline. Ofcourse this is just for fun

A story can be bought (like Milfy City, yes, yes...) or you take a movie that you like or directly an erotic movie, and you make a parody xxx of it, I'm not going to tell you to take a porn by that level of history...
If you want to discover and learn ren'py you can start by making a mod for a game (what I did for milfy, at the beginning it was a trad and it ended in a mod translation with about 10k lines/+ of code added. And for F.I.L.F. 0.11c I recoded them just like it was in version 0.9c.(readd journal and updated, reworked indication of locations, redo incest patch and resolve some bugs)).

Is the soft body appearance purely lighting or there are tricks involving morphs and poses as well? I want to learn how to render like that.
The character is a straight out of the box character. (Rhonwen by iSourceTextures).
Used some clothing by i believe xart3d and started dforce.
The lighting is a standard setup by papertiger (i think) a 3-point lighting and used a background and texture from render studio by colm jackson.
Increased the dsub seting a notch to get more texture/detail.

Then used a RAW filter that i thought looked good.

So all in all didn't do a whole lot of exciting things on this one. All the items/poses and settings seemed to work well with each other this time.

If you are doing a liner game. kind of like a story. it is very easy for coding renpy. it is basicly just writting out code to display image here, text there, image here, text there, then maybe a link or two for decisions, then maybe play a movie then back to storyline. Very simple. :)

It is when you get into the more complex game functions that renpy takes a deeper learing curve. Im a 3D artist so coding is not one of my strong sides. :p

Oh and I love the idea of taking a story already and making it your own. It is something I thought of doing sometime, would be take the story of Robin hood and do it in outerspace, with your own characters. You have the basic storyline, just put your own characters in the story and do it in outer space.

you can basicly take any story you like and change it to be your own. Just make sure you dont copy every word for word.

Thank you for sharing your settings, that is a beautiful model. Other favorites of mine are from the SecondCircle series.

One thing I do before coding Renpy is a outline my game out in a software program called. yED Graph Editor.

And I wasted all my time on drawing those by hand in paint.NET. This tool is a live saver.

That's why creating a mod for a game is a great learning experience, I could re-code a game like milfy/FILF without too many problems.

I use a paper and a pen. I tried to do something on the pc but it didn't stay in my memory and this way I can more or less remember things.

Wow, what a great resource. I've been trying to develop a game and keep track of everything in Libre office but this looks much simplier. Thanks for sharing

Thank you for sharing the technical details. My first priority of learning is to have a process of not having that hard plastic feel in my characters.

The lighting is a standard setup by papertiger (i think) a 3-point lighting and used a background and texture from render studio by colm jackson.
