Yeah, I'll give that a shot. Tried to smudge it a little in Photoshop but I'm not thrilled with the results. The prop itself was quite large and I hid most of it in DAZ before I rendered. I think it's more like cigarette smoke than steam. No, the smoke is too linear but Great render and good effort. Try post work on it. Open in gimp and add a layer and try to paint smoke with some opaque brush. Experiment. Or try Sketchbook and look at some youtube tuts. It will be easy.
I like the second one, but genetically speaking, the first one is more likely.Guys I can't decide on my new characters eyes for the life of me, they just all look good to me... help.
Here are the three different ones I have narrowed it down to.
1. CO Reine Dark (most realistic eye color)
2. ChanelYou don't have permission to view the spoiler content. Log in or register now.
3. Stephanie (hypnotizing eyes, def the most unrealistic but I love them)You don't have permission to view the spoiler content. Log in or register now.

If someone wants to pay nothing.. Gimp is the only way.Photoshop is good. Gimp is poor peoples alternate but its also powerful.
Hmm maybe scale it so it's 'fatter' and dial down the opacity a lot. Not perfect but I made the shot below in under 2 minutes. I think it came out decent even if it can still be improved.Messing around with a smoke prop in an attempt to make it look like hot coffee. Turned out okay I suppose.
I don't think it's worth the resources. Post work is better and can get way better results. My opinion of courseHmm maybe scale it so it's 'fatter' and dial down the opacity a lot. Not perfect but I made the shot below in under 2 minutes. I think it came out decent even if it can still be improved.

That looks pretty good actually. I did dial down the opacity but it didn't even occur to me to scale it to make it fatter. I had other issues going on with that render so I kinda ran with it. You're probably right. I spend too much time trying to get all the details right in DAZ and forget that a lot of things can be done in post. Time to step up my post-work game!I don't think it's worth the resources. Post work is better and can get way better results. My opinion of course
Yeah.. i was trying to do everything in Daz... but then i just said.. Nope! smoke, lightnings and other effects, can be done in post most effectively and quicker (well the first time will require some research but then, especially if u create brushes, it all makes sense and you'd be done quicker)You're probably right. Makes sense. I need to do a lot more learning about what I can do in post. I recently picked up a bunch of the Adobe stuff and it's a bit overwhelming to learn. Shit, learning Daz took years and I think I've only scratched the surface there!Yeah.. i was trying to do everything in Daz... but then i just said.. I agree that in post you can get better results… if you know what you're doing. (Not me). As for resources it depends. I don't mind having the PC render a little longer as I do it in dead time (asleep, at work or otherwise occupied). whereas I'd have to do post in time that I could prepare new scenes. It both has pro's and cons and I may opt for either depending on needs, knowledge and time.I don't think it's worth the resources. Post work is better and can get way better results. Of course.. didn't want to start an arguement there I just quoted your post because i was too bored to go to the original actually lol! but it was for the same topic that's why I believe that as long as you can render most of the scene someone wants it's better and it creates better results! especially on dead time as you say. But even so, when you need 1 hour of render time for a smoke let's say, when you can do it in post in 5-10 minutes max, i think it is worth it. This 1 hour can be less time for another render that someone can start.I agree that in post you can get better results… if you know what you're doing. (Not me). As for resources it depends. If you want to learn a few thing to get you started in photoshop (since you said adobe) try to watch some of the tutorials in these YT channelsMakes sense. Don't worry wasn't taken as such. Just wanted to add my two cents. I think we are saying pretty much the same thing. You have to balance several resources and we will make different balancing decisions depending on what we value more or have less of.Of course.. didn't want to start an arguement there I just quoted your post because i was too bored to go to the original actually lol! but it was for the same topic that's why I believe that as long as you can render most of the scene someone wants it's better and it creates better results! especially on dead time as you say. and yes.. i know what you are saying because i spent too much time on tutorials for post software.. so.. I get you
