yep, photoshop denoiser is definetely better.I honestly don't use denoiser because I take my pics into Photoshop afterward. Between rendering at a higher size and reducing it to 1920x1080 or using Photoshop denoiser, which is better, I get better results than the built in one in daz. Who knows, maybe with each version of studio it'll get better. Right now I'd only really recommend it for wide shots of non people. So like world building, cars, etc.
I used to do the same, rendering triple the actual size and used ps denoiser, but honestly, if you play a bit with the render settings and light, you dont even need to do that that most of the time.
