When FBI agent Dana Scully was investigating in a rural town, she was wrongfully detained by the local police for suspicion of impersonation of federal agent.

She's forced to comply with the policy of the station to strip naked and pose with the evidence for a mugshot.

Yoga Prone Series - Cobra, Upward Facing Dog, Seal, & Sphinx
Bhujangasana - Cobra 1.png Bhujangasana - Cobra 2.png
Cobra pose is very simliar in look to upward facing dog and seal pose. In cobra the majority or the whole thigh is on the floor, most often we want the pubic bone to also be on the floor. The arms are most likely going to be bent for the majority of individuals as the amount of backbend each person has is going to differ and typically only those who have a deeper backbend can straighten the arms while keeping the pubic bone on the floor, the exception be those whom have an extreme ability in hip extension. Shoulders are roughly in line with the hands. The shoulders stay active in keeping the body from sagging between the arms.
Urdhva Mukha Svanasana - Upward Facing Dog 2.png Urdhva Mukha Svanasana - Upward Facing Dog 1.png
Upward facing dog only the tops of the feet connected to the floor for the legs. This is a much more active pose, which typically is not held as long as cobra. There is more muscle engagement of the back and glutes then in cobra. As in cobra the shoulders stay active to lift the body so the shoulders are going to be moving away from the ears.
Seal Pose 1.png
Seal pose is very similiar to cobra but where it differs is the arms are further apart and more forward. This pose is most often practiced in long holds in yin yoga classes. There is often little muscular engagement so the shoulders are likely to rise up towards the ears. The arms are used mainly as leverage to hold the backbend.
Sphinx Pose 1.png
Sphinx is the easiest to differentiate as it always has the elbows on the ground. Much gentler of a back bend than any of the previous postures.
