Last render gave me an idea for a Dead Space inspired scenario.

A planet is discovered to be rich in resources and a ship is dispatched to collect them, little realising that the planet is home to an unusual virus - one that induces extreme arousal and sexual desire. Normally, this might just sound like the plot of a porn story, but what if the virus makes people incredibly aggressive and uncontrolled in their lust. And it only gets worse from there...

I imagine a couple of people might not have been exposed for various reasons and are now trying to get off the ship before someone uses them to get off. So here's Melissa as one of the officers, maybe just about to jump into the airlock to get to another part of the ship. Why wasn't she affected? Maybe she was in quarantine as the virus spread? Maybe she's already infected? Who knows.

I have decided to push myself into a new direction and created a wholly custom character. I have always admired the work of Mr. Vargas, Kentyrr, X3rr4, ConfusedBeard, DitaVonTease among others, I just can't remember all their names at the moment. Just too many to mention.

Here is my first attempt at something that is completely morph created from Genesis 8.1 Female Dev Base. So her look was created without skin textures hiding or enhancing her beauty. Then separate head and body morphs were created to complete the model. I am still looking for the right eye resource and skin tone to complete the package, but I was so happy with how this is turning out, I needed to share it. Hope you all enjoy.

It is one thing to take other people's work and tweak a slider here, add a morph there. Or even modify textures in Photoshop, it is completely different to start with a blank canvas.

experimenting with the surfaces tab, you think his face looks "too much" and too unrealistic? :D (zoom in on the full picture to see better) (no post work)

the "face too much" ??? not sure what you mean...
very nice hair - I've been looking for some hair that covers the face similar to a rogue Japanese.
OK, TMI but this is a very nice render imho. Keep going !

Hopefully don't "stick my foot in my mouth" again...
So much is lost in TEXT.

Anyhow, I find myself SO MANY TIMES scrolling down from your work, only to scroll back up to take a 2nd & 3rd look.
Beautiful work imo.

Another Red Heart, looking for reaction BEYOND Red Heart...
Just FUCKIN AMAZING !!!
I'm just guessing that if and when I'm not too lazy to do postwork I can and will improve my renders, but WOW !!!

I know how to use Photoshop in basic ways and I'll look into Lightroom some day, but not today LOL

I was closely examining certain models, in this case the one I used for my Jade (BeingADIK) model for skin moles etc... basically comparing them to game characters in order to try and identify what assets were used and... well... I really liked this view! LMAO... I was checking for breast moles and, well... thinking switched to the little head and this render was born.

I used to reduce texture size using scene optimiser which worked well. I never had to delete anything. I only had 4G of VRAM but was able to do quite a bit just by hiding. The bonus is that once I got a better card I could reload the scenes and unhide things... which I actually ended doing.

I have an interesting render from the dark days of low VRAM... the following render was one I started by accident as I didn't have the camera selected, but I let it go anyhow as it looked interesting... almost some sort of strange art. heheheh... but it showed just how much I hid from view (I had also reduced texture size for these)...

First, the accidental render...

This may look confusing until you see what the real scene was SUPPOSED to be...
View attachment 2407134

If it wasn't visible, I hid it. I actually created a script so I could just click on something and press "V" to hide it rather than clicking the eye icon which really helped.

This is one of my old renders I did after reducing texture size and just hiding everything...

And this is the same scene after I reloaded it on my new video card and unhid everything and reset the texture sizes back... you can mainly notice the texture difference on the ground outside the door, otherwise it's not that bad...

SMFH... I have so much to learn...

Yeah, you do have to be careful with what your PC can handle. What I used to do when I had an older video card (a 1050TI with only 4G VRAM at the time, I now have a 3060 with 12G which is MUCH better, more video card memory is VITAL) is I would hide EVERYTHING that was not visible, and I mean EVERYTHING... if the far part of an arm of a character was not visible to the camera, I would hide it. What happens is when you load in a scene, everything you load gets stored in your system memory. When you go to render it, whatever is visible (or marked visible, whether you can actually see it or not) is loaded into your video card's memory to be rendered and for the shaders (which are programs run on your video card itself) can access them. So when you click that EYE icon to hide something, it will not be loaded into video card memory. Even part of a character's arm as I stated makes a difference. You could free up video memory and increase the detail on what is visible and maybe it wouldn't be too bad.... dunno... certainly it speeds up renders. For example, here's a scene I rendered on my older 1050TI...

Not a lot is visible except his arms and parts of her body... so I hid quite a bit, here's what it looked like from my interface. It's a little creepy! LOL... body parts missing, I only kept the room's walls and lights intact as they effect lighting and shadows...

View attachment 2407039

I would maybe check your lighting as well, yeah... angle the light to bring out the contrast and shadows more perhaps?

Anyhow, your render did look great. If you can afford it, a "cheap" RTX3060 12G model (not the TI model as it has less memory) REALLY helped me.
Just to add on to what your saying. Plugins like Scene Optimizer( Camera View Optimizer( ). Are a great investment, especially for those that have potatoe PC. It those exactly what Night Hacker say and more.

*curtsey's cutely to Mad*... Aaawww thank you, but I barely ever start with a blank page, I start with a figure & play with morphs until I'm happy with the results, sometimes using photos of the person/character for reference, if needed. I'm also more likely to spend a week playing with various figures, & environments, to get things 'right'. Sometimes that means removing somethings, or adding others, changing colours as well. And on those odd occasions I'll make something in Blender
if I can't find what I need.

My modding is basically blending layers in PS, or selective masking in LR. I also like to replace things in environments, mostly images on walls. But other than that, not much is done with sliders, at least for me. It is all about either minor adjustments or doing stuff that is straight up fan art and trying to follow the original creators recipes.

Very nice. Been working on a custom character from scratch myself... I need much more work. Started with G8 Base female. Mainly messing with morphs and such at the moment.
