I mean is it not true? Look at the average prompt and in the negatives you will see variants to pixelation, pixelated and other things that are necesseary in proper pixel art.
By the definitions presented in a model it is "crude".

AI is absolutely a regression and not progress. It is simply a way for companies and corporations to replace actual skilled people with a cheaper alternative to produce a lower quality end product for a fraction of the cost. There are places for AI and that is in doing analysis and as a tool for an actual artist doing actual art. Using machine learning assistance to do simple things like post processing or noise reduction or anything like that is a legitimate use case so long as it is a TOOL used by an artist and not a replacement for the artist. It should be used to help create art and not replacing how art is done entirely.

It is called slop because that is exactly what it is. It is concepts fed to a machine and ground up into a slurry of "content" then shit out by a machine with no concept of what looks good or why something is good. AI as we know it will NEVER understand intent or basic shit like desire or empathy. All it can do is google for something and throw everything it finds into a blender that it unceremoniously dumps on the floor for those with no taste to lap up.

The same could be said about any other artform that got easier due to technological improvement. Infact i remember reading a quite nice post some years ago where a the writer compiled how the people who used digital cameras met scorn from the "real photographers" for practically all the same reason people complain about AI.

Also lets be real, slop exists without AI. Unreal slop? Unity slop? Flash slop? They are all cheaply made low effort assetflip trash that are made with the same idea and you dont see people vehemently protesting them.
Art slop? Someone posts the same quality a 2nd grader "draws"? People will fuckin defend it because it has "effort and soul" when the reality is that its just slop that can easily beaten by AI because the quality and effort is lower grade then what it takes to make a decent looking picture in AI.

Quite frankly im not interested in this absolutely banal and brainless "debate" on if AI is good. Its not. No matter how you try to rationalize how its a great "tool" used by people to make things the absolute core issue that you are missing is that the ways you are trying to say it is a good "tool" are ways that a "tool" could never actually be used. If i have a shovel and want to dig a hole i have to personally use that shovel to move earth. Every scoop and every action is done with a purpose and a meaning meant to do the job at hand without destroying the yard which all ends up with a very deliberate and thought out end product that is an actual reflection of who i am as a person and my work ethic. The act of doing the digging makes me a laborer. Now if i get a shovel and get a guy named AI do do my shoveling for me who does not give a FUCK about what he is doing and has no knowledge of what he is doing and no actual common sense you wont end up with a good end result. You will show up after the job is done and find a hole that is the wrong depth where the septic tank has been dug up and the underground electrical wiring to the garage is cut. It also means you didnt put ANY effort into the end product so no matter how much you claim to be a laborer you are not. Then you will gleefully post the results to twitter about how much of a great laborer you are for giving the directions to something else to do it all for you. It is not a "tool" it is a way to replace laborers with a shittier cheaper version. Remember an actual tool is something used by PEOPLE to do something and not something that does something for you.

Generative AI is not a tool. It is not a "technological improvement." It is a cheap and disgusting way to remove actual artists and laborers from society so they dont have to get paid. It is not like a digital camera because the argument against digital was not that it was somehow doing all of the work for the photographer but that the early digital cameras were absolute SHIT and failed at the basic things professionals were looking for cameras to do. They didnt and still dont do the work photographers do and most professional photographers will LOSE THEIR GODDAMN MINDS if you automate everything inside of a camera because they NEED to have control over focus and framing and exposure lengths because that is EXTREMELY important to how an image comes out. You clearly have no knowledge of photography if you do not understand this but all things considered it should not surprise anyone that an AI tech bro has no grasp of what he is discussing.

If the only way you can justify it as being legitimate is comparing it to literal asset flip scams or art from someone that is still figuring what they are doing out then that is saying something about how valid it is. "Look this AI draws better than these literal thieves and a 6 year old! It is so valuable and useful!" No it isnt and the fact that argument is the best one you have actually brought up says everything. So really just stop trying to discuss this here. Honestly its surprising that the posts you have made have not already been purged like many in the thread already.

Paying for a VPN to play an HTML game on a website instead of just running it natively is a wild thing to suggest or do.

I'm not saying get a VPN just for some HTML game, I'm saying get a VPN so you can use the internet in the future, because these fuckers won't stop. Here, this shit also started with minor restrictions under the pretext of protecting children and fighting cybercrime, and now look at modern Russia. This site is blocked (at least understandable), Discord is blocked, YouTube is blocked, Twitter is blocked, Instagram is blocked, messengers are not blocked yet, but they are limited, itch.io is blocked and so on, this list will be very big. On the mobile internet it's even worse, because a whitelist is in effect, and only the platforms of Russian companies are working, everything else - not. And any free VPN won't help here, because now it's not individual VPNs that are blocked, but entire VPN protocols. Now only VLESS + Xray work, and even then only to a limited extent, because the DPI is getting stronger.

The thing with that argument is that most people posting here are not living in russia so applying that logic to everyone is kind of overkill. It also does nothing to actually address the problem other than you know spending a bunch of money on a VPN you dont need in the present for a mythical time in the future that may or may not come to pass. Besides is ALSO posted the link to the github which has the links for most of the popular releases of the game and as far as i know git is not blocked anywhere.

I think it's probably only a matter of time until pressure is applied to GitHub and it decides it isn't worth it to host these sorts of projects anymore. Most platforms have started to reject any patronage for the likes of DoL, and it's not due to any ethical dilemma but a combination of changing laws, targeted campaigns, and erring on the side of caution...

Just a correction, the source is hosted on gitgud, not github. While I don't know about gitgud's practises I am assuming it was chosen as a host over github for a reason.

You are blind if you don't notice the real trend. As for solving the problem, turned on a free VPN (you don't need the fancy one... yet), went to dolmods. Problem solved. GitHub is not a complete solution, because it only has offline, not everyone want to have this stuff on their devices, for different reasons.

Degrees of Lewdity but is a game where the player character is always in a unfortunate situation, they will never be able to be the "aggressor"​

If that bothers you, the game offers peaceful settings (currently experimental) that make it a chill experience. And after a few rounds, you'll know how to avoid trouble and beat the crap out of anyone who tries to mess with you.
To go further, the modded version Degrees of Lewdity Plus on DOLMods offers a "Prototype Reverse Rape" and many other cool features (lots of QOL).
