But yeah as said we just need to wait 'till the game's up and running and has a plan for the gameplay loop. After that we can expect replayability and more content.

especially since most of us are just freebooting it.

Too soon to say. Based on their history so far, the dev has been very good about hitting that 3 month release window. Give it a week (or two at most) for the next update.
