Yes, Devo does have the intention to have Deltazone released on steam as "Safezone", a SFW version for people who just want to play the gameplay side of the game.

I doubt people will buy it if its SFW only without an option to download a NSFW patch. Otherwise its a stripped down version of the bastard child of Army of Two and Tarkov. Army of Two because it had insane weapon customization but each part had significant changes to how the gun operates and you had a partner with the heat system. Tarkov because its an extraction shooter in a post-soviet country, in a post-apocalyptic event.

A little tip for all of my technologically handicapped gamers;
- Turn off the FPS counter. For some reason, it drops your FPS by about 5 frames.
- If you're using AMD, turn on Surface Format Optimization, as well as overriding Tesselation and setting it somewhere between 8x and off. In my case this netted me about 8-10 FPS.

It's not much, but it helps.

It's true, the gameplay/gunplay/inventory management stuff is interesting enough, I pretty much ignore the adult related stuff when I play.
If Dev could get this game stable enough, optimize performance, and flesh out the story and tasks it would be a decent game even without any of the X.

Apparently it performs the event tick on every rendered frame. It has low cost, but if your rendered frame time is too close to 16.667 ms (to get 60 fps), that can reduce your rendered frames. A framerate of 55, is 18.1818 ms. So this event tick is probably adding +1.52 ms per frame.

If you remove the NSFW, you're left with a subpar survival FPS with unbalanced AI and gunplay.
The fact the dev also make money on pay walling the NSFW is pretty good clue of where his consumers are.

I mean, Stalker anomaly is free, already has quests, a good bestiary, and a working economy.

And one day, Stalker 2 will be released.

On the other hand, Dzone is hard only because ennemies can shoot and incapacitate you in the dark from 200m away after running an Olympian sprint while you were hiding in a building or a bush in a moonless night, and then, they will make another dash to get to cover. That's not what I call hard. If you give limiatations to the player, give the same limitations to the AI. The player can't run more than 10meters without having their feet hurt? Don't make the AI sprint across the map in less than 30seconds and still shoot like a sniper.

The player can't aim with their weapon for more than 15 seconds? Don't make the AI aim at you for 10minutes and still shoot you like a sniper.

Getting shot makes you dizzy and enemies can jump on you?

Don't make the AI run like speedy gonzales after loosing half their life.

Without the NSFW, it's an interesting, but very subpar game.

That is the point. This game is still in alpha (believe it or not after two years), so don't go expecting the level of polish a game with a sizeable community and more mature development. You'll just be disappointed.

The reason I like this game is that it combines the essence of looter-shooter survival games with porn. That is the market it is targeting. But that doesn't mean that it'll stay that way forever. So if you, or anyone expected this game to be "Tarkov with sex", prepare to be disappointed, at least for the next four years.

That is the truth. No doubt about it. But the people I have a problem with is the ones who expect it to follow up on so many promises that weren't made, especially not to them.

Last I heard about it in the paid NSFW channels on the Dev's discord months ago, he was thinking a v21 release at the earliest. After playing and enjoying the buggy mess of v20.2, I personally am no longer expecting the quadraped monster till v22 at the earliest. Dev has a lot of tweaks and fixes to do with all the stuff he added in v20.

If we get the forest map in v21, that would be cool. I kinda wish there was a compass. I get turned around as fuck in the city map. I wish the "aroused" state was limited to the edges of the screen instead of everything turning pink. He posted some images of a "stealth suit" which looks pretty neat. Otherwise it's gonna be a long boring 3 months. The new medstation isn't what I hoped it'd be, plus the "you need to wait for the eggs or tentacles to grow" is annoying and wasn't there before.

All in all, the game is slowly coming together. I've never made a game before so I don't know what to expect from 3 months of work, but this game is still leagues ahead of other 3D nsfw games. What else is out there? Project Extermination? Yuna: Reborn? Too Much Light? At least this Dev is responsive and honest in his discord replies.
