Funny thing is..
Devolution used to do that. First one then two versions behind he released a public version with everything (even cheats) unlocked. It was great. Even though the thread was always full of those that wanted the most recent version. But the majority was happy.
Well, the dev moved more and more away from that, pushing back the public release until the threshold was reached and the first crack came out. You know the rest..
Imagine getting your first Patreon subscribers thanks to advertising on this and similar adult sites and then start to hate your subscriber material. Judging by first posts on their Patreon they released "licensing feature" 9 days after the first Patreon post. So this game was destined to become a shit show from the start. Hope this game won't be abandoned like literally any other 3D game on this site which had "patreon login" functionality.

Yes, I remember those days well, as I paid for the game for several months. There were many wars, and a lot of keyboard warriors died then:ROFLMAO: Personally, I stopped paying and started looking for hacking methods for two reasons:
- the main reason is that I didn't see what I would like to see in the game,
- and the second reason is that the paid version stopped working for the 3rd month, requiring an update, which means give me money again, I'm tired of begging. And who else remembers those passwords of the free versions? :)
something like
- 06free
- free07build
- full08free
- rel09free
- free10rel2
- 11freeplay
on the 11th version, the developer left this place, apparently angry at the audience starting to break the game, but he did not want to understand the reasons, probably because of the surging emotions. I'm not pretending to be the truth, it's just my guess.

Oh yeah, the free version passwords. Those were the times.

At some point we discovered that the new versions were released with the free password functionality already built in (so you did not need to download again once the password got released). The Dev would just reveal the password a few months later. You know, because no online shit.
And then one time I spent probably over an hour guessing the password (based on past password structure), because I did not want to wait for the public release. Some other regulars from this thread and me PM'd each other for the passwords. IIRC a few days later someone found it and posted it here. Aaand Dev got mad :KEK:
Fun times.

We can't go back now, but I reckon if the free versions stayed a few (1-2) months behind the paid version, maybe nobody would have bothered with a crack. But maybe then Dev wouldn't have gotten enough money to continue development. Or way more. Who knows ;)

Even when all f95 started to use cracked versions dev still makes 5648$/month. I'm not a communist or something but with that amount of income you can afford to spend some money on advertising releasing free versions with content. Consider that an investment - more people see your content, more will subscribe. And what we have today - game advertised as NSFW-UNCENSORED (citation) but you can't even see naked tits in "free" version :WaitWhat:. Anyways if dev doesn't like us free leechers we are not obligated to like them back :WeSmart:.

with that amount of money he should make more regular updates not 3 per year and with more content (plus he is living in
Czech Republic or something )

you can safely multiply by 2, since Patreon 5.5k$ + has about the same amount from a similar subscribestar site.
for 11k+ per month, he could have already recruited a small team, but it seems to me that the developer is too greedy and wants to squeeze out as much money as possible and slows down the development of the game. 11k*12 = 121k$ per year * 4 years = 528 thousand dollars... Wait a minute, 0.5 million dollars for the game in the alpha version, which has been under development for 4 years, that kind of money is already being paid to good studios that are developing much faster.

the developer doesn't have to be mad at us, he makes good money from this game, besides the main one, or rather the vast majority of subscribers were taken from this site and similar.

I wish the developer to focus only on improving the content and adding what is expected of him at last, rather than fighting piracy and coming up with ways to protects. Fighting piracy is a dead-end path, they'll hack anyway, there will be people smarter than you, don't even doubt it.

Well, I launched SFW game without crack yesterday and guess what?
15 minutes later I was once again ejected from so-called "bike" on flat ground. Ivy get hurt and die from bleeding in 60 seconds.
Traders have no medicine, as they only level 1. Cheat can fix this.
And I can't block bike crash, as it is also cheat. Not base game mechanic, preventing bugs like this one.

So it's pointless to discuss dev income.
He do it on purpose and game is unplayable without cheats.
And he charge money for cheats, that fixes his own bugs.

This is why I'm so mad at him. He has time and money to very easily just outsorced more asstes. This game has a lot of potential, but most of the time, work and money goes to new anticrack methods. New clothes and character features should be just contracted to 3d artists, it's not that much money. New set of clothes every update, some new hair or even completly new character and we would be much happier. You know why there is no option to just drop your stuff, only remove it? For two reasons, it's much much easier to set up inventory system with only abstract objects ( that is objects that have no visual representation in the world ), and also you don't have to bother with buying 3d assets for dropped items. I would really like to see the source code and all the bullshittery that goes on there.

Adding a monster should be just outsorced also to 3d aritst ( make custom skeleton, mesh, animation... ) but judging by how greedy he is, I'm almost certain that he thinks he could do this cheaper, and that's why we don't see new monster, he tries to do this himself.

This wasted potential triggered me so hard that I decided to just make my own SLUTKER, I will post when I will have anything to show for it, but for now I have inventory system with visual objects.....

I supported the dev until he starting locking previous versions from everyone even supporters. Complete and total arrogance when I asked about it in his discord. It really seems a lot of these devs have a superiority complex. Maybe we are just used to other devs making older versions public for people to try out. Seems a good plan and it does gain supporters over time (I was one of those). But how do you expect to gain support if you can't even play without paying first? Seems more like a drug dealer dangling version 10 in our faces for free, then pulling the plug on everything when version 12 rolled out. But others never even had a chance to play the last full and free version. Its up to version 22 now and you'd think somehow those older version could be used to garner support in some way. But nope, just taking up space on hard drive now as its completely unuseable.

I'm not saying your are right or wrong, but you math is cherry picked and off. If your going to compare a indy dev to a studio, you have to factor in that chunk of this income is going to cost of living expenses that a studio doesn't have to spend into. almost 2/3 of my income goes to my estate alone; like taxes, mortgage, cars, food, yada yada...

11k is pretty comfortable and I to am annoyed that adult content is stunted and we are getting another fuckin map filled with the same fuckin enemies. On the other hand Devo has hired at least two other people into working on this project. Although he doesn't share much detail. I assume they are commissioned help and not fulltime devs. Devo doesn't share much on how all that works.

you have hints of disappointment with the project, which does not surprise me. In the 22nd year, I was very angry with the developer, I swore a lot here and in discord, but then I threw this game on the far shelf. A year later, I remembered about this game again and now I'm just watching. I download every update, look for something interesting in it, and I don't find anything interesting. The interest ended on the 08 or 09 version. Previously, the developer shared much more information on the discord than he does now, as if he had become closed or just tired, I don't know.

There are a lot of things that can be added to existing maps, why do I need new maps where everything is the same, the same enemies, similar "bring it to me" quests, absolutely the same cocks for everyone, after all

The scenes are simply animated manually, which makes them boring very quickly. It's like short videos, you watch them a couple of times and it's not interesting anymore, and you click the "skip", "skip", "skip", "skip" button. Why do all the enemies have the same kind of cocks? someone should have a bigger one, someone should have a smaller one, but not everything is like out of a test tube. Initially, it was necessary to make the scenes interactive as a mini-game, so that you could influence a lot of things in the scene, change the size, adjust poses, adjust the depth and strength of penetration, and more. It would be much more replayable, I think. But now just watching 12 animations is not interesting, you can make 50 ready-made animations and it will not make the game more interesting. The potential of the game is huge, it's a pity that it's disappearing.

The issue with commissioned help is the same issue that ADOM Deluxe ran into. The main developer had access to the code, and no one else. Everyone was reliant on the developer for progress, and so if something happened to them, then the entire update would be delayed. And it did constantly.
