I'm just curious what the gunplay will be like. So far have not lived long enough to see a weapon. Perhaps I should figure out how to get back to the starting area so I can at least sell stuff I find.
Unless you're on the hardest difficulty, the starting lootbox in your HQ has enough parts to build a gun. Also if you find the game too hard, you can modifiy the difficulty like AI reaction times or accuracy in the settings.

Cheers for the info. I'm still at a loss as I can't even discern which version I have.

The game sure is rough. Then again I might not be the target audience for this level of body horror. Conventional H-scenes are quite good, but the other stuff is borderline repulsive. The pacing of everything feels so awkward and forced. Seems like you can't walk 10 yards without having to excrete foreign objects or have your orifice sag down to the floor.

I chose 2nd hardest option which doesn't grant even basic weaponry. I struggle to make it around the block without dying of thirst/hunger. Constant bombardment by scavenger bots is a little annoying. They'll rob you three times in as many minutes. That or rape you once and leave you with broken legs straight out of the gate.

Something that I find irritating is that the level design really isn't conducive to stealth play or really any type of play. Very generic uninspired level design that doesn't compliment gameplay at all. Sterile and arbitrary as if the world itself is a tutorial arena. I actually really dig challenging gameplay, but usually for that to happen there is something that acts as a driving force to push you through it.

I'm just curious what the gunplay will be like. So far have not lived long enough to see a weapon. Perhaps I should figure out how to get back to the starting area so I can at least sell stuff I find.

When i'm not even sure if we're talking about the same game, it's not normal :KEK:
2nd hardest option doesn't give basic weaponry ? I thought Permadeath was the only one where you start without anything ?
And if you complain about this, this simply means that the difficulty you chose was MUCH MUCH MUCH higher than anything a noob can handle on the game.

"Seems like you can't walk 10 yards without having to excrete foreign objects or have your orifice sag down to the floor."
Like, how are we talking about the same game here wtf ? Do you have a secret update we don't have :WaitWhat: , your experience playing this game is.... interesting. Did you not find it strange that the game that prides itself on the gunplay didn't give you guns ?

If you don't start with a gun and can't build one, the simplest thing to do is to take a hoverbike and run someone over with it for a starting weapon. That is a tip you should NOT need as a noob, no new player should start the game without weapon, don't just choose random difficulties without reading. Especially on a game designed to be hard because it's tarkov like in the gameplay.
I actually don't know either how you keep dying of thirst and food as i didn't even know you could actually die from them :KEK:
But i'll assume that not having a weapon means your loot was very limited since you couldn't kill and thus starvation.
90% of your problems with this game is that you didn't have a weapon to begin with, so maybe idk.... Pick a difficulty appropriate to your beginning level ? The game is designed to be hard but you handicapped yourself for no reason.

The hardest level I've ever played was the only difficulty level where I started with just a tissue. The only difficulty level where I played very cautiously and very consistently. :LUL:

Just revisited this game yesterday.
As someone who can't aim for shit, I only start a fight when I got absolute confidence I can oneshot my enemy without anyone noticing. When I have contraceptive pills to spare I get naked and whore myself for reps. When the faction reputation is somewhat high and roaming around in 3rd person perspective, the enemies get alerted by me but I've never been shot once. What I wanted to say is the combat is hard but it's largely skippable, or should I say cheesable.

Now the questions:
- I've been avoiding cyberwares because I cannot stand horror, even with the reduced psychosis cheat turned on the can still appear if I forgot to take my meds. Anyone knows exactly how the effects trigger?
- I'm somewhat shocked that the memory leak is still present in the latest build, went from 80fps to sub 30 in 2h, restarting the game mid raid doesn't seem to alleviate the issue(IIRC doing this removes all corpses from the visited levels), it only went away when I ended the raid and restart. I don't see ppl talking about this issue for a while, hoping this can be fixed soon.

For the horror element (That i don't really like either myself)

You've got a sanity bar. This bar depletes in only two ways i know of;

-You're using too much cyberware and your cognitive capacity is too low to keep up and thus drains sanity.
-Or simply using cyberware powers like Scans or the Shock Pulse.

Having cyberware by itself will never drain your sanity, meaning you can get Eye implants and not trigger halucinations (Just in case you were avoiding any implant and not just the powers)
In any case, if you do use cyberware powers, masturbating will increase your sanity bar. Knowing all of this, I haven't seen a hallucination for a loooooong time.

small aparte (The fact that powers are bound on middle mouse which is a button i cannot use for the reason that it breaks extremely easily does help the fact that I've basically haven't seen the sanity bar drop for a really long time, Game Devs, please, PLEASE stop putting a very important mechanic on this f*cking brittle button that was never meant to be clicked but to scroll. However, even if powers drain sanity quickly, you'll simply be able to have a quick round of masturbation and you'll be fine.
It's just a hallucination, but for some reason it does encompass the horror element well to it. NOW, the problem is that it's a porn game. How many people want to jack off to a horror game...? I find it very misplaced even if the mechanic somewhat makes sense. When i was newer to the game, i'd end up avoiding or using cyberwares only in extreme scenarios as well, this sanity system with how it's done is extremely off putting and heavily punishes you for using a scanner FOR 0.3 SECONDS :KEK:)

At first I couldn't understand why the ghostly things were appearing. Then someone here said it was because of my mental health. It's not scary for me but when they appear right in front of me in the middle of a battle it's really annoying.

Ty for the clarification. I do know the cognitive capacity thing, I was butthurting over hallucination caused by cyberware abilities, sorry for the confusion. Tho I'm doing fine without abilities by playing passively, now that the game has friendly interactions with enemies.

TBF the hallucination did its job well, as I was properly scared when I saw it for the first time. I do believe there's people who appreciate this feature, just not my cup of tea.

I usually keep two factions friendly and one as an enemy just to give me a reason to use the gun tbh. I used to have every faction friendly, but the game honestly got so boring lol. Right now I keep raiders and scavengers as friends, and corpo as the bad guy. They give good loot and they're a little bit of a challenge

I actually aim for as high as I can go with all factions. This means that if I get into trouble (gun jams, run out of ammo, or my game lags so hard that my screen freezes and I've just alerted the entirety of China to my position) I can just distract the enemies by being nude. At that point, I don't even wear clothes since at a high enough Cyberware level you can ignore most damage and instantly heal the rest. Stunning is also reduced and you can reduce the amount you receive by toning down the Adult Difficulty.

Ah that's a really good idea. I need to try more cyber ware, I just really dislike the whole cyborg look. Idk why, but I have zero luck finding the skin modification that makes you look normal.
Grind Nova, at level 3 or so it gets pretty common. I even found both skin and eye mods just on a random Corpo body in Highway so it really is just a matter of luck.

Does anyone know if this game runs on WIN7 because it doesn't work with the indicated procedures, and when starting it results in the error specific to the lack of an operating system witout WIN10 compatible with dlls.

This had more to do with the build version of Unreal Engine, I think 4.25+, than a DX11/12 issue, where the API is no longer supported by Win7. I think it might've been v14 of Delta Zone where Win7 stopped working in that regards.
