I know you feel some kind of satisfaction while telling people criticizing your game to fuck off but thinking long term I don't think thats going to end well, it never does.

Better take a break from the site since, apparently, none of your supporters had any criticism about it (which I doubt, but if thats how it is, then cool).
The only thing you'll accomplish with this childish behavior is to put off potential supporters as no one likes to give money to someone who seems to be high on his own farts.

.... In addition ... I see some devs always say similar phrases like this when they add something very stupid: "it can be impactful and seeing all the rage about it, I think it's done its job pretty well."

Like they seem to be proud how they made the players mad for fucking up as if it is something hard to do :WaitWhat::WaitWhat::WaitWhat:. There's nothing more easy, lazy and cheap to do than just putting some nonsense included just to be "impactful". Specially here where it feels extremely rushed and badly implemented like the dev just want it to force it without even setting it up correctly, amateurish, rushed and kind of silly tbh.

You could have killed off all LI, added some BBC ntr, or have it all been a dream and people would have been even more pissed off as well and more impactful. Does that mean it is a job well done as well?? Does it make them think they are being GRRM, or Tolkien when they fail to meet the expectations for a satisfactory ending with an ass pull??
This is a visual novel, I guess I have to remind you, but it is a subjective thing. You can't just say this is bad, like it's a fact. It is bad for you, but for others? Who knows? You guys didn't enjoy it, fine. You don't want to support my work I'm fine with that, I'm %90 sure most of you didn't support me anyway. This is a pirate site, for fuck’s sake, and we're talking about the guy that leaked my game as my supporter? What a support, wow!

I'm always open for constructive criticism, hell I'm my own harshest critic but saying this is bad. Change it, is not criticism, it's just bitching. I already talked about the parts where I made mistakes for the ending, but it is what it is, DR was never a perfect game it was just an experiment for me to understand how a visual novel works, and It did its job pretty well.

Ok so I had to stop playing because I wasn't on the catch'em all path and I don't remember if it was stated that path wouldn't continue or if it was just paused. So I'm just wondering if any more will be developed or if that's it for this game on a non total harem path.
I'm busy with my other projects atm, but I'll be back later for the solo paths.

Public forum if you don't like it you don't have to read it yet you're here seething at people who didn't like your ending

Telling people to fuck off because they thought your ending was bad doesn't help anybody in the long run and clearly it's getting to you so it's probably better to just take a break from this site for a while
I didn't tell anybody to fuck off because they didn't like the ending. I tell them to fuck off, 'cause they're trying to tell me how I should be making my own game. I'm open to criticism, but you can't just tell a dev to how to make his own game, it's a bad thing for the game and the dev if he listens to it. I know it 'cause I did that mistake for DR and that why I don't tolerate that bullshit anymore.

man i was hyped when i saw that update drop but man is that a shit show. The game was in my top 5 of all AVN and now i want to never see that game again. Depending on what the dev wanted to archive good job i guess?

I wanted to break the cycle of MC meeting a girl and fucking them after some conversation with a surprise twist. It was meant to be abrupt and unexpected so it can be impactful and seeing all the rage about it, I think it's done its job pretty well.

This whole game MC meets a girl and after some time he fucks them right? So, the player expects the same for Sarah's mother but, no! She was there to kill him from the beginning, she had the gun in her purse and was just waiting for the right moment.

I think an ending needs to make the player feel something, either good or bad. That's why I did, because I know this was the most impactful way of doing it. And believe me, the first draft even had a more fucked up ending, but I've changed it because I didn't have the heart to do that.

And you're right about the Serena bit, she had to go for MC to be complete. I was thinking of a classic goodbye, but why would she leave? MC's going to need even more help with that many children, It didn't make sense for her to just say goodbye and leave and MC would know that she's always there. This way he can be his own man without any crutches, is he going to be a successful one? Will see.
So you basically just did it for the impact sake? For being subversive? Nothing else?
Having a shock ending for the sake of having a shock ending (and it honestly pains me to say this as a person who kinda liked the game up til this point) is hack writing. Having a completely unexpected dark turn of events where it doesn't fit isn't how you finish off a good story... it's how you make .
Yeah, a good ending makes you feel something. But the ending also needs to fit into the context of the rest of the story tonally and structurally.
The way this goes doesn't make people ponder over the profundity of what has come before (because what has come before has mostly just been a straightforward enjoyable harem romp), it just makes you go: "Well, what was the point of all of this then? Why get invested in characters if they're just gonna get deleted with a gunshot with no real payoff or thematic thought?" Sure, none of us expected the gunshot. But it served no purpose other than shock value. When why not just go the whole hog then? Let the mom kill everyone and then eat their corpses afterwards and then nuke the world and sent the planet into a nuclear winter and make it a dystopian hellscape. That would be shocking, right? That was the point, right? The only point, right?

You telling people who were disappointed with the game's conclusion to just go somewhere else is, to be frank, callous and cowardly. These are the people who trusted you to make a good story. These are the people who invested time and effort and some even money to let you give them that. No one here is trying to control how you write and make your games. We know we are not entitled to tell you how to make a game. The person you quoted to have done that's only crime, is describing the ways they didn't like the ending. They didn't command you to change anything. They didn't even speak to you directly (maybe they didn't even know you would see that message).
You need to realize that the lack of entitlement goes both ways. You're not entitled to a hugbox where everybody just compliments you all the time. You made an ending and it was panned. That sucks. I get that. But the way you act and talk doesn't inspire pity or sympathy; it just makes you seem like an arrogant wannabe dilettante who can't take criticism. You care about the game? We did too. We didn't like the result. This is a public forum where we can air those grievances. We're just pirates, remember? Why do you care? You don't have to read our opinions. It's honestly jarring how quickly you became mask off here. But I guess that's consistent. It wouldn't be the first time something you write has an extreme issue with tone.

thought about expanding on my dislike of the ending but you pretty much did it like a hammer and hit the nail straight on the head. Thanks for saving me an essay.

They're not telling you how to make your game, they're telling you they didn't like the ending and that it sucked. If you don't like that? Grow thicker skin? Get drunk? Smoke some weed?

Yes, I could've, but I didn't 'cause this is my story and if you don't like it, fine. Good riddance!
How could you say something like this and think it was acceptable?

This is the type of comment that you deserve to have follow you around for the rest of your career. People should never forget your disdain for those of us who dare to criticize your work.

The very moment you share something with the world, it is open to criticism. You are not above that. No one is.

Man I am glad I never played this game, wasn't following the progress of it, wasn't one of the people supporting you financially month after month.

I guess I have to remind you that this forum is how a lot/most people find games to play AND support. No one is giving their money away to find out if a game is worth supporting or not, they usually play it first in sites like this, so you dismissing most the people here as freeloaders whose opinion doesn't matter isn't doing you any favors, you are not making that much to have thay diva attitude here.

Second, even if there's a level of subjectivity involved in most works, there's objectively a lot of things wrong with the ending that you have admitted willingly and even unconsciously. Like the fact that it was extremely rushed and with no set up, like usually a good unexpected plot twist would have you going "woah" with an open mouth and have you questioning how you missed the subtle hints and such, but this one just makes you tilt your head in confusion at how stupid it is, because you cant just pull one of these plots out of your ass without setting it up and just expect people to go, yeah that makes sense, thats good, here's you btw:

"Yes, I accept that Sarah's mother's involvement in the story is a bit rushed, and I blame myself for that. I thought of adding more lines for her during the early parts of the game, but I didn't plan ahead very well, and I accept the problem that brings."
So it is rushed as fuck

Not to mention you admitted to just wanting to force it into the story for some shock value, thats why it feels totally out of nowhere and not earned. It is objectively bad because it goes against what good storytelling is and only looks for shock, rage, just something cheap to surprise the player, like you, yourself said, and was even proud about it:

" I wanted to break the cycle of MC meeting a girl and fucking them after some conversation with a surprise twist. It was meant to be abrupt and unexpected so it can be impactful and seeing all the rage about it, I think it's done its job pretty well. "

If you want something like this, better set it up, otherwise, as I said before, just have a black guy appear suddenly with a 2 meters penis and cuck the MC, that's going to be unexpected as well and would make as much sense as what's in the game.

Lastly I am not surprised to read this:
I didn't tell anybody to fuck off because they didn't like the ending. I tell them to fuck off, 'cause they're trying to tell me how I should be making my own game. I'm open to criticism, but you can't just tell a dev to how to make his own game, it's a bad thing for the game and the dev if he listens to it. You deem all negative feedback as people trying to "tell you how to make your own game"
And even says it's a mistake to listen to feedback and lord forgive me, actually changing something lol. So if something is bad you won't change it because, apparently, it is bad to listen to lowly inferior beings who dont make porn games, and you'll just keep it as is because :LUL: you are the dev, and somehow you and everyone loses if you change it and make the story better.

That's why I told you before that you are giving off the impression of someone who thinks their shit doesn't smell, and even if thats you, you at least need to pretend to not be when trying to have people pay you for shit.

But anyway, I've seen enough, good luck with whatever other projects you have.

Dev I respect artists and understand that creating a story and sharing it is hard work. I get that it's disheartening to hear so much negativity regarding your ending. With that said your last couple if posts is similar to if D&D shat on the fans who were upset with how GoT Season 8 ended.
