Haven't played the game in a long time and I see now that there is sharing.
I see that the sharing is optional but is it the kind where it still happens even if you turn it off but you just don't see it or is it truly optional and never happens?

If not enabled/enabled but don't allow it then it doesn't happen.

I wonder if there'll be repercussions later with the Duty/Teacher Lirah paths beyond the scenes currently in... I'm still iffy on if I made the right choice with Fairy.

Likely because it's not an international language. But you could start a community project to translate it to French!
Hum, French is an international language.

That said, I agree, pretty sure the developer wouldn't mind if someone proposed him/herself to translate it to another language.

uh it's a definitive international language... it's about as international as it gets.
