That can be fixed by either making a copy of one of the audio files and renaming it or downloading and extracting the files from the DesertStalker-0.08b-pc version and grabbing the audio file from there and adding it to your game.

I get this error when going to buy groceries and meeting with the survived kidnapper. I can't find a workaround to get past it. I'm the only one getting this?

This happened during the night in the oasis

Regarding the crash in the market, it was a last minute typo that slipping in. It will be fixed in 0.09c but for now you should be able to safely press "ignore" and carry on.

As for the missing audio, which version are you playing? Normal or compressed?

I was going to comment that I find it interesting how the discussions here continuously seems to gravite towards a philosophical debate, and then you post this!

Dominance is ultimately determined by personal power, which can be defined by combat prowess, scheming, charisma, personal wealth or any other metric or tool that allows a man or woman to be the winner in the confrontations they decide, or are forced by fate, to enter.


Male concubines/or sex slaves don't appear on screen because they hold no interest for the main character and the vast majority of the players, not because they don't exist.
In fact, in the scene where you buy Fairy from the merchant (instead of getting her from the decayed brothers) you were initially offered a male slave, sitting in the cage next to Fairy's. That scene was altered and focused on Fairy for simplicity's sake and because, again, male MC, power trip, yada, yada, yada...

Did you guys ever consider to include an optional gay scene where the MC has (some form of) sex with (or rapes) a submissive male?

It would indeed fit in the social environment.. as a form of submission/humiliation/establishing pecking order.
I am personally not particularly interested in seeing it but wouldn't be opposed to it being scripted/insterted in the game.
That said, I have a feeling ZetanDS would also not be interested in seeing it... and since he'd be the one making the art and having to stare at it for hours, I feel like that's something he would not be ready to do if I ever asked him to.

but again, I am not particularly motivated into asking him on account of not swinging that way and preferring to write about things I know how to relate to, how to portray them, and kinks/sexual practices I am more familiar with.
So I don't think we'll ever see that happen.

Agreed. DS devs are one of those few devs who have been very consistent regarding their releases (even when a dev creates a great game, more often than not, this consistency factor is what may drag them down at times), which I always appreciate.

Great quality of the game is already given, with the whole in-depth characterization and the world-building it has with Cynicaladm's writing & ZetanDS's renders.

Have him say something like "sorry, I understand the value of sodomizing our defeated foes to reinforce our dominance, but I've just never been able to get it up for men." Serves the desired worldbuilding function without compromising your vision of the character or requiring you to spend time depicting a kink you aren't into. Alternately, if you decided you did want to put it in the game, I guess you could hire a ghostwriter for that scene so it feels authentic.

I don't think the result is going to be worth the effort. An off hand mention of something happening off screen doesn't really add much to a scene, and Z is not going to hire someone to do renders for him to add something the game can do without. The budget for such a thing simply isn't there yet, and we're not short on kinks and sexual proclivities we want to add and explore without adding stuff purely to check a box and entice a specific player demographic, much like we're not going to add a scat scene purely to entice the scat fetishists into patronising the game (no parallel between lgbt and scat intented, I'm just making a point about kinks and sexual content)... Unless Z decides that he really wants to add either type of content, it's just not going to happen.
We do mention in the lore that there are gay and lesbian couples and they aren't discriminated against. We will mention this again and possibly show it from a social interaction point of view. How much of what they get up to in the bedroom we will explore on screen, is up to Z to determine.

The most that I can see happen at the moment, is that a character mentions having had male on male sex and this being a motivation for that character to take or not take an action.
Whether that would add anything to the game lore or depth wise is an open question and right now I would have to shoehorn that in a scene, because we just don't have a character or plotline that requires or justifies it...
And as I said, I'm not in favour of adding content purely to satisfy a target demographic. This, for me at least, remains a hobby.
Z might decide otherwise, and it would be a purely commercial decision, as is in his right, but when that happens, we'll see it on the screen, until then, suggestions for the sake of debate such as this are always welcome but they are most likely not going to alter the already existing trajectory of where the game is going, plot and content-wise.

Finished the new version, as always excellent in terms of rendering but I have not seen any lascivious scene which annoys me knowing that it is a porn game. I have also seen that many reported some kind of problem in the game, I have not noticed any.

Hey everyone, looking at the second part of the hive mission, I should be able to finish it up next week. Other than that, there might be an official spanish translation coming in the next weeks for 0.09c. Fingers crossed.

We stopped providing an update-only patch because -with the way the game is currently structured- it was very prone to errors and introduced a lot of overhead and confusion.
We now instead have a compressed version for people with limited bandwidth and/or speed.

Maybe someone in the community will make an update-only patch, but "official" ones will be stopped going forward.
