The developer is defrauding the sponsorship fee. When the sponsor is disappointed with the developer, he will come back and send an announcement to appease the sponsor, and then continue to defraud the sponsorship fee.
thats the magic of patreon. since its technically a donation, nothing can be done about it, other than raising awereness to their behaviour.

Its so sad to see the development (or lack thereof) of this game, it has so much potential with the art and story.
Go to the discard of the game, there the developer told and showed progress. 0.9 will be released in a couple of days, 1.0 before the end of the month.

He's around ~5 days late to release an update for which he said the content is ready. And he announced it ~4 days before it was supposed to release!

Also:

Release for 8.5 Part 2:
Announced 13th September, "release it soon within this month"
Announced 19th October for 26th October

Release for 0.9:
Announced 06th December for 18th December (highest tier)

Release for 0.9 (for real this time):
Announced 31st January for 5th February (highest tier)

Again, for the current deadline he said that the content was already done and ready!

In regards to release dates he's simply not trustworthy. 4 missed deadlines in 6 months???

I like this game and want it to succeed, but he's only getting my money once the update is actually there or he manages to rebuild the lost trust (in regards to release dates)

Also what's even this "he showed it in Discord"? I'm not a Patreon anymore, but what about them? THEY are the ones giving him money, why do they NEED to join somebodies Discord just to see what THEIR money financed???

Why are you asking me questions? If you're interested, then go to discord, if you're not interested, then don't complain.
The developer has more than 200 animations, and he could release updates at least every month. But his original goal is not to make updates faster, but to make a high-quality game.

The dev once said that they didn't wanna go to Patreon cuz it made them depressed
So they won't pause payments and continue to receive them, yet won't give his patrons any updates or receive feedback?
Like yes, they're getting a lot of negativity, but that's something every dev/business-person has to learn to deal with, not everyone will be friendly, especially online. Him ignoring them if literally the main reason they got mad. The dev said going dark was good for them cuz it let them structure the game (didn't say they worked on it, mind you), yet the going dark is whats causing all this frustration. They're just creating a perpetual cycle by running away from the issue instead of facing it head on.

Personally I think most of the issues can be solved if they just stopped giving "scheduled release dates." Giving a planned date then saying there might always be a buffer, makes the whole point of a schedule redundant. Yes delays can be inevitable sometimes, but it shouldn't be regarded as the norm every single time.

If they stopped giving scheduled dates, released a weekly/bi-weekly progress bar, and made an update post every so often, there would be a lot less frustration. There are some games have taken months to complete, yet most people won't complain for those specific games (obviously not all of them), cuz they know the dev is actually working, and the content they'll get in the end will be worth the wait.

The developer took note of this, and said that he would not set exact deadlines in the discord. But believe me, he is really working on the game, not for the money, for the sake of a good game.
I bet on the mammoth's ass that the update will be released tomorrow or the day after tomorrow.
