The story is fine at best, the game was almost identical to Indecent Wife Hana at the start (Wife gets close to nephew/friend's kid, leading to netorase and netorare) and slowly spun off while trying to hang on to the mystery NTR subgenre. I would have to do a fresh playthrough to jog my memory about the story, especially since the dev often changes some of the story and scenes, but you are mostly right about the story being generic/simple. It is worth noting though that the game is "Netorase" not "Netorare", so instead of the "excessively & unrealistically blissfully happy & so sappily in love couple are living their idyllic life, bad guy(s) enter in, force or coerce wife to start messing around with them & on they go until she's a mindless, sociopathic slut" example you give, it is more of "the MC realizes that he is aroused by his wife coming into physical contact with other men, and encourages her flirt or even have sexual encounters with other men". The netorase template can lead into netorare and often does in many games (typically as a choice in the story, Devoted Wife included).

The game would probably be better both in story and pornographic quality if the dev didn't hold on to mystery NTR so much, causing every story beat to be the MC trying to catch the FMC doing sexy stuff as she is poorly hidden/obscured from MC's view (some attempts at including swinging content have been made in the past, that story line was a bit better, so points to the dev for that, it also might have been temporarily removed, again I would have to do a new playthrough to know).
P.S. To be clear, I love the mystery NTR subgenre, but it is just not well done in this game.
Valid, I also understand that I'm not exactly the target audience for these types of games in general, (by which I mean more porn / adult centric games). What I mean by that is, I have a pretty fulfilling love life & my sexual needs are met there, so I play these kinds of games more for just entertainment & their utilization as fap material isn't really a factor for me. I've always preferred story driven stuff, but there seems to be very little options in the AAA & even indie market. My personal favorite games, (aside from a lot of the old story driven adventure games of the Apple II & DOS era), are the ones from Freebird Studios, whom have rolled out only 4 main games in the past 10 years. Outside of that, aside from the Faith series & maybe a very small handful of others, any kind of story or lore almost seems to serve as set dressing or an afterthought to the pew pew pew gameplay of the game. For example the Borderlands series had a real good overarching story, but I mean... Good by comparison to like Call of Duty, so the bar is pretty low.
However, I discovered that there's a surprisingly large number of well written VNs in this genre, despite the more lewd themes of it & in spite of the sky high volume of shovelware & abandoned / incomplete projects. I mean for example, despite the pile of nearly idential incest / harem games where the plot consists of "meet da gurlz & bang ok", you still have games like Mr Dot's "Dating my Daughter", which had a surprisingly good story. Narrowing to the NTR sub-genre, One would think that such a kink would also be useful for compelling plots as well, due to how it's a classic tool for building suspense & conflict in a story.

Anyways, I realize I'm rambling again. Sorry about that. Long story short, I'm saying I understand that the primary focus for making these games is to make stuff for horny dudes to jack off to & as a moderately pervy, but not all that horny guy that doesn't use these games for that purpose, (again due to taking care of that through more conventional means), I know that I'm not the target audience. What I don't really understand is the WIDE chasm, almost polarity when it comes to the effort in writing. I mean there's few that fall in the middle. You either get games from creators that put very clear effort into crafting a good story, or creators that more or less say "plot? The fuck is that? Just slop something easy together & ship it". I mean I get it, It's fap material primarily right? But even then, for coomers that aslo want a story, or am I nuts on that?

Let me explain. So with these VNs, even the ones that lay on the spicy content extra heavy, the fappable content makes up like, maybe 30% of the total content of the whole thing, with the rest being "filler",(if we're grading on fap value only), right? & even then, it's mostly a few still images, maybe a couple 3 to 5 second animation loops. Now contrast that to good ol fashioned porn videos, even 2d & 3d hentai videos, porn comics, etc... ALL of which are 90+ plus to 100% fap content, not to mention those other mediums are typically fully complete works, nothing to grind through, (just click start / play, relax & crank the ol hog), whereas with VNs, you gotta grind through them, you have to wait for updates & hope it doesn't get abandoned, (as many of them do), I mean, I can't help but wonder WHY would anyone choose these as their jack off material when they seem, by design, the most poorly designed for that purpose, compared to the other similar media options available. I mean there HAS to be something else that appeals to the fans of these games besides just fap value & the only thing that I can think of is the story element. & if I'm correct on that, why don't more creators lean more into that instead of half assing it so hard? It just doesn't make sense to me.

Anyway, I know that's a ramble, but I had to get that out there.

I guess a large part of the appeal of VNs is that they are just "different". VNs are a unique combination of an narrative with artwork and just a hint of gameplay, I imagine that some people are just tired or bored of other pornographic mediums and VNs peak their interest as something new. Many great VNs feature branching paths that allows the player to experience an "choose your own adventure" thrill while, sometimes, pushing the story into a direction that fits the player's fetishes or personality, all while deepening immersion (Life Selector has even incorporated narrative choice into real life porn as a way to increase immersion and spice up the age-old porn film template).

The two main parts that make up a VN, "visual" and "novel", both have great pornographic potential as well as a large market because sex sells (erotica and literally anything pornographic with visuals), a great VN would ideally have both a great story and artwork, but often times one aspect is at least slightly behind the other in terms of quality. I suppose that VN with an mediocre/bad story but great artwork and sound is just better quality fap material than the inverse (The majority of people being visual learners might also make the visual quality matter more). The artwork just seems to be weighted more than the story when measuring VN quality (this supported by the fact that Atelier Sakura is still releasing games to ravenous NTR fans despite most of their stories being cookie cutter, and sometimes, just absolute ass), hence, the improvement of the story might just not matter as much to the developer as the improvement of the art, especially if improving the art quality gives greater monetary returns than story improvements. I can also see a lot of developers just not caring as they have a steady monthly income through Patreon/SubscribeStar without improving quality, or, the most simple case is that the developer (solo or team) is just inept at storytelling and doesn't want to fix it (self-improvement or outsourcing/hiring for help).

At the end of the day, people are just different, stories or games that some people like/love will be hated by others, or in this case, some developers will strive to improve with every version/game they make and end up with a masterpiece, while others are fine with the status quo and are content with their work and fanbase. The NTR fanbase is definitely a mixed bag of people that care about story quality, people that just want to enjoy the fetish, good or bad story quality, and of course, like every group of people, some insufferable dickheads.
The NTR games with stories that I at least consider good and quickly come to mind are:
Girlfriend Tapes

A newer game that I interesting despite its early development is Blurring The Walls

"April Fools" NTR games like: My Faithful and Loyal Wife Would Never Cheat on Me, NTR Squared, and

are always memorable and have stories that rival One Piece.

Don't worry about rambling, you are not alone.

I've went thru all your helpful suggestions, feedback and comments in my inbox.
Thank you so much!
Now, I just need some time to rework the scripts, rearrange events, and prep the renders to seamlessly integrate those scenes into the main plot without losing the theme.
Btw, sorry in advance if my responses are a bit slow.
As always, please try out the latest version and share your thoughts via inbox.
Fan Appreciation Note

I've also prepared a Chinese version of the game for a long-time supporter.
I'm not a native speaker, so translation work has to be outsourced, hence it's many chapters behind the english version. But it should catch up soon.
Download links are available for all tiers. Thank you!

p.s. Check out the HD MP4 file of the featured GIF included with this post. The uncensored version will be available in-game.

when the public release?
If you are talking about the official public release by the dev for V0.33, then it could take a few months. The dev used to update the public build quite consistently (the public build was usually 1 to 2 versions behind the newest patreon release and was updated whenever the dev put the newest version out), but the dev stopped updating it at v0.27 or v0.29 (I don't remember which) until yesterday, when he updated the Itch.io store's public release (I think it is v0.31). I will release v0.33 here when I get it in a couple weeks. For v0.32, MyLoveST posted a cracked version that didn't require the password, and so I didn't release it myself. If someone posts v0.33 before I do, then I will just post the updated passwords to the thread as I get them (if the version isn't cracked).
