I was giving him the benefit of the doubt becasue he's been good so far, but this is kinda taking the piss. I know it's just a few days, but it's already been delayed weeks.
I only remember they said their initial release day is 23/24 sept (in patreon post on 9 sept). So only 4 days delay if they release update it this sunday

Did they set any other release day before 9 sept or you misremember?

If the content is good and the story evolves then it should be worth the wait. We'll see.

At the start of the month, the "at latest" date he gave was the 14th, then on the 9th he extended it to the 24th, now to 28th.

Like I said, the updates have been good and substantial so I'm not exactly mad, this is just a worrying trend.

Can someone post the “Pretty Important Devlog” from yesterday?

Hopefully, there’s no more bad news.

EDIT: There’s a curious devlog from August about Marissa as well…

Hey everyone, it's been a while!
I understand if there might be some frustration over V4's dev cycle being longer than any before it, so I figured I'd pop in and explain the main reasons behind that.

1. V4 is the biggest update yet:

Content per release (starting from V1) always hovered around the 700 to 900 render range. V4 has around 1600. So almost double the size of anything that came before. On top of that, while most content updates happen over 19 days (40 -> 60 for example), V4 will be a little longer, covering days 60 -> 82 (so an extra 2 days of content). I did that because cutting the update off on day 80 would kill the pacing. There's an arc that needs to kind of wrap up and set up a future story, and for it to be coherent it needed the extra couple of days.

2. Minor re-writes and re-works:

I had to change a few things up in a particular character's story. I'll cover it more in the spoiler tag below, but if you want the short and sweet version: Trimmed down some events, and added more to slightly alter the set up for the future.

3. Irl commitments / new job:

I got a new job a couple of weeks ago. It's 48 hours a week (I work Saturdays too). As much as I would have loved to be able to dedicate more time to developing Dissonance and finishing V4, real life has its responsibilities. To put it bluntly, I need a job to pay the bills and save up some extra for myself. Naturally that ate away at both my time to develop and my energy ofc. But I'm getting into the groove of my new routine and things are back on track.

Ultimately it was my responsibility to plan better and give a clearer idea as to when the update should come out. I own that. After V4's release I'm going to take a couple days to meticulously plan V5's dev cycle. I genuinely don't want this delaying and uncertainty over release dates to become a trend any less than you do.

The thing about Marissa x Flora x Justin is that it’s frustrating because I can’t be mad at you (since you never intended to make Flora the NTR antagonist for her to begin with), but the chemistry & writing for the two of them during the setup arc gave me hope that Flora won’t be cast aside after Marissa x Justin happens.

EDIT: I guess I’m mad at you for doing such a good job with Marissa x Flora despite the fact she won’t be her primary NTR antagonist.

Thanks for the message. I'll be looking forward to the Marissa yapping, good luck.

So I have to start playing again to know what you have changed?

Nope, the changes are retroactive (though minor evidently), meaning you have to replay the game to see them.
No, no. I should have been clearer, sorry about that.
Nothing from previous versions has been changed. When I said re-writes and reworks, I was talking about V4 itself. I had it pretty much finished then went back and reworked some things.

That guy Trevor's name is mentioned twice on the forum/website. However, MC has no reaction to this situation, already knowing that Gemma's "friend" has the same name.

Well, from "lore vise" perspective, as we saw in once scene where MC thinking of "looking up what this forum is about", MC canonically not checking the forum it seems
