So... like what's the latest news with this game and the other games from this developer/team? Last bit of news I found is already pretty old and it had to with the FA game. This was being remade in Godot, so how's that coming along on that front? If Patreon is giving the team hiccups due to content, have they considered other platforms like Subscribestar? I'm curious where things stand. Cheers, y'all!

zensei From what I picked up, the dev could no longer afford the artist so development ground to a halt, and the artist mentioned at some point that coming back to DA is a possibility should the dev be able and willing to re-hire/commission them.

Why "scammer"? Did I miss something?

He milked the patreon for almost 2 years without any progress on divine arms. I'm never not gonna call that scamming

Chris-drama was more about the fact that ViperV didn't exactly secure the contract the way he should and Chris used a bullshit excuse of not wanting to animate more gruesome stuff (Rapevine is really fucked up lore-wise but is it really showing in-game? :p ). But of course, money is always an issue that decides where your morals actually are.

It was something to do with the appearence of the rapevine. These are not just plant monsters that just happen to look like a woman with no arms. I don't remember the details, but it was something about a rapevine victim actually losing their limbs and mutating into a rapevine themselves, or something like that.

LMFAO they had problems doing Rapevines? Where they could have just been monsters spawned by magic? Even if not by magic, you're literally okay with actual raping of the MC. Cut your shit with your shitty tinted glass morals. It'd be different if they transformed the MC into one, or blood, or literally anything gore like. The lore can literally be changed on a whim, there's no ground to speak from.

Hey, it's an old thing already but that was ONE of the bullshit reasons given at one point. To be precise - it wasn't exactly about Rapevine being a woman's torso with vines (because he did it after all). It was about the general theme that followed. If you take a look at the details of most enemies, they are a bit fucked up and not exactly fit the colourful and cheerful aesthetics of the game. I guess it was a reason as good as any to not just say "I don't want to do it anymore".

Was that really what Chris himself said though? Because if you look through his own works, he himself did stuff that are pretty hardcore like tentacles and inflation etc.

Tentacles and inflation are not exactly hardcore stuff when in anime/cartoon style by themselves and Chris was far from going to the borderline gross stuff. He always made it tasteful and kinda funny.

I wouldn't read too much into it because...it was yet another excuse by V himself if I recall the shitstorm back in the days.
Point is that Viper was always throwing excuses all the time, no matter if they made sense. Actually, I am expecting a meteor shower every day, based on what most h-devs on patreon claim all the time...it's a wonder that we made it past the 2012 with the amount of bad things happening.

If anyone is really interested, go on and ask Chris directly. I think he will say something more believable than V would anyway and maybe that will put more light into the whole case.
