Can't promise anything, I have a lot of plot and character/relationship development to work on first. But the new armor system at least makes it easier to have slime armor.

Yeah so I got hit with this, can't continue at all. I should mention, as I'm not sure if it's a problem, that I am using a save from a version of the game I got here that I am using for my steam version.

Also, I have some questions. Do the traits like Hydrophosit and Gaelid Infusion work with the spellblade abilites? And do the spellblade abilites count as longsword abilites as to benefit from harsh blade?

docclox Hey, thank you for the review! You raise a really good point about backgrounds, I forgot how much of a... placeholder the temple art is, from back when I had absolutely 0 funding and no chance of affording better. Now that I do, I'll look into fixing it!

Actually, I might be able to start doing non-lewd CGs sometime soon as well... we'll see on that one, those get really expensive.

Yeah so I got hit with this, can't continue at all. I should mention, as I'm not sure if it's a problem, that I am using a save from a version of the game I got here that I am using for my steam version.

Glad you managed to fix it going by the next post, but as a brief overview; Renpy by default has very little patch support. I use some code that runs whenever you start up the game *or* pass time in camp that forcibly updates everything, but sometimes the game start thing doesn't work very well because Renpy. You can usually bruteforce it by using "waste time" in camp or load save -> save over -> load save. I can probably add a button for it somewhere too.

On traits, it usually specifies spell/skill if it only works for those (I think Hydrosophist does?). Similar for the mana blade stuff, those are a separate Mana Blade skill type. The Mana Blade weapon can use longsword skills (which benefit from longsword traits) tho.

Uhh oh. This game looks a little too RPG-esque. Its causing me to want to spend 40 hours optimizing a build before I actually play it. I know its not how the game is supposed to be played, but is there a way to see all weapon/spell abilities and their masteries, like with the trait dictionary? Or should I just make a bunch of saves for each weapon/school? Or should I just suck it up and play the game normally without mathematically solving the game like my instincts are screaming for me to? I really can't help myself it's like borderline neurosis.

There's not *really* a good way to display all that currently, I do have 'better ability dictionary' in the list of things to do but trying to fit it all in is gonna be a challenge. I think I need to get a more intelligent "find and list requirements" function to avoid having to copy-paste so much code.

If you do custom chargen, you can really easily test different stats/abilities/elements/weapons quickly, though it doesn't let you start with Aether or Nether magic.

You can also use the 'respec' function midgame to get rid of abilities/masteries, and swap weapons/armors freely in camp, so you don't necessarily need a save for every weapon/element! If there are more specific questions, I can also try to answer them~

I'm gonna buy the game today, because of reading the thread, you're awesome for interacting here and just the way you speak in general about games, rpgs, and everything else makes me confident that the game is in fantastic hands. I tried it years ago, and saw it on steam so decided to see if the game on steam was the one I remembered.

Tangentially, there are few feelings worse than sculpting a custom backstory and skill spread for your cRPG character, taking them halfway through the game, only to find them suboptimal for end-game content and the closest thing to a re-do is save-editing (looking at you, Wasteland 2). Thank you for giving us unlimited free re-specs and making sure most builds work.

Thank you! I enjoy talking RPGs and story/character stuff, and my goal is to make a game using lessons I've learned/issues I've had with past RPGs. Learned the hard way this is a LOT harder than I thought it would be, but hey, enough time and autism fix most problems!

I hope you enjoy the game, and here's hoping Steam works out well enough that I can just 100% focus on dev stuff.

Very true! I actually just about finished a run of Wasteland 3 over the last few months; while they did eventually add respec it's pretty limited, and there are a lot of weapons/skills that are just... not worth using. Even then, many things can't be respecced. That, and you need to have every other skill covered in your party; you can't *not* have most of them. Lotta fun there, but man, it can be clunky.

It is generall suggested that the banks are refusing to process, err, sexy money?, hot cash? and are trying to pressures platforms into stopping such transactions or risk being unable to process payments...
So, yeah. It's shitty but from my understanding this is generally caused by holier-than-thou bank execs.

You know, processing payments coming in from companies using child labour is fine but they draw the line at porn.

Anyhoo, how are available attunements counted, and what counts as attunement? I had 20 mag and the trait, so I assumed I'd get 3 more elements, but I could only get 2. Unless grass spider counts for one, which would be weird, because Akem Manah didn't. Or maybe attenuation doesn't work, I dunno.

Your understanding is correct; that sounds like a bug. It's possible one of the martial arts is counting for attunement where it shouldn't. Which version are you on, 0.24 or 0.25?
