Why though? in a few hours the update will be out anyways
The update will only be out in a few hours (unlikely at this point) for the higher tier patreons. The post on patreon said the early access version would be out last week and the full version would be a week later, more or less depending on the amount of bugs found. This ended up being not true since the early access version is only just now being released (unlikely, I will explain) and doesn't even include the full update. I did not want to believe that Dek was actually turning into Dekoda, but every single thing he has said about the update is the same thing Koda would say.
The reason I doubt the update will be coming out in a few hours (it could but not likely) is because of what he said before. We were told a long time ago that the update was finished and all that was left was the artwork. He even went on to say he would release the early access as a version without all the art, similar to how he is now saying that the early access would be only up until a certain point.
At this point, Dek has already crossed the point no game developer should ever cross, lying to your customers. This is not just about us who are not patreons at this point, Dek has actively said things that he should not have said to his paying audience. If the update needed more time, there should be no problems with saying that he needed more time because of bugs. Instead, he said it was finished besides the art, yet that does not seem to be the case. The best move for any game developer to do is never say "update will be out *insert date*" when the update is not atleast 95% complete. Imagine that the day before the launch of a normal game the developers say its not ready, I doubt their customers, company, investors, or retailers would be happy. Game development is a buisness of trust and sadly there have been many developers here who don't care about trust (not to say there are not good developers here who do). This might be an indie porn game, but this industry is just as competetive and trust important as the normal game industry.
Sorry for writing such a long post and reply.

Thatoneguyyyyyyy Thanks for the news, your dedication, risk-taking and honesty is appreciated. Let's just hope this doesn't end up in Dek trying to pull a F95 stunt to make up for his massive fuckup known as the Narcissa 8.0 major update.

The discord screenshots are a masterpiece.
If this is a team, I don't even want to know what the rest of the team looks like.

Sssssnek and myself often disagree but we both agree here (please correct me if that's not the case) - Deka definitely proved he no longer is worth anything as a developer except for entertainment value and proved it to backers no less:

The second part is particularly insightful. Stress 'gouge' that requires checking all switches one by one, but you didn't ask anyone because you were confident you could handle it with the rest of your team by yourself. Semantics on sanity and stress when it isn't exactly a gamebreaking thing. Going all the way back to Narcissa because you fucked up big time and didn't even playtest your game, which hilariously is the very first post of the Domina thread (post #2).

If you can't code for shit, provide CGs (since that's exactly what backers need you for and nothing more) and go "fuck it guys, I fucked up but you get the CGs I commissioned from Shiki, let me handle this or since RMMV/RMMZ is open and you can code all that shit on your own, feel free to fix all that crap, I'm sorry guys". Admitting to mistakes and apologizing isn't hard. We all make mistakes. Just do it as soon as you notice you've fucked up - or you might make people think you just noticed you fucked up right now.

Let's wait for Katrina 8.0 folks. It'll be worth it. :WeSmart:

edit: Actually, Grim Reaper 8.0 might be interesting, since the sprite isn't used yet. Surprise Domina yaoi. :sneaky:

irrc darkerous uploads it a week after for broke boys, stay strong
Thanks for the kind words but if that means zero new CGs and full regression, I'll pass. Darkerous is a nice one.
Early access for Patreons is out. I don't have the right tier to share with the lads, I'm afraid.
We are not worthy of your sacrifice for sharing this, but thank you very much... for also sharing that not even backers get the DM unless they pay max money.

If you can't even properly playtest your code and schedule a project workflow, it doesn't even matter what the code was, honestly, so no big loss, just another reminder to let people be themselves and stop caring about how Darwin would brutally facepalm at evolution. Having extremely high empathy in modern era is the best way to end up with severe depression. This is from personal experience...

I don't want to sound preachy because I don't exactly have any right to. While no one expects weekend developers to be professionals, it's like . And even then, I am not sure an approach would help. Sorry if this is offensive, but monetizing that kind of approach ruins all of mankind unless you want the future to laugh hard at us.

On topic: Maybe stopping at Narcissa was a good approach, actually. Unless this was changed in the revamp, she's the one providing the player with 'virtually destroy mankind' levers (that actually were fake anyway, even in the game) and you're supposed to feel bad for hitting them when we are nearing the point of no return as mindsets devolve.

Now I'm not even sure the CGs matter at all because backers might not even see half of them (Narcissa regression). Unless of course Deka was smart enough to do the right thing here, and I am leaving this one to his guessing as this isn't too hard.

Can you explain to a brainlet what's so bad about the current situation apart from the obvious delays ? Personally I'm just happy the update is coming out

Most likely from what I've read in the previous comments in this thread, it's not even the full updates and has quite a lot of bugs along with the delays. So if I would be assuming, if there are already major bugs thats making the game almost unplayable, that would almost be the same as not being able to play the game no? especially if it gets locked behind max paywall so your own patrons can't even playtest it for you properly since there would be too few at some point. Of course fixing bugs would also take time but how much more of a delay would that be

So I think people are being a bit over dramatic as is usual in the femdom community other than the one game that shall not be named. Early access is not meant to be the main release. It’s essentially a playtest version. The backers are well aware of this fact ahead of time.

As for the partial release, I don’t personally see it as a huge issue since it gives a bit more time for people to focus on the front half of the game (which also has the most new shit in it with Madeline), and the other half of the update will be out today or tomorrow anyway. In reality this doesn’t impact anyone other than the people going for the early access update.

He might have a team, but it’s not like Dekarous and said team are pro game devs. Could this have been handled better, certainly. But I don’t think the riot is necessary.

I know it's getting popular to call Dekarous the new Koda, but I at least appreciate the fact he's trying to make a game. I'm willing to wait a bit for brand new content if the downtime is being spent refining the actual gameplay experience (and the overhaul being done right now sounds really really promising). I know "I play eroge for the gameplay" is the new "I watch porn for the plot", but if it helps me be more immersed in the experience by not being distracted by broken mechanics, I'm down for it.

Everyone's problem with him is his constant lying. There's no problem with justified delays. There is a huge problem with lying about them.
He said the code was finished. He said he coded even more than needed because the CGs were late. He said he was done coding a month ago and was already working on Domina 2. Then it turns out the game is horribly buggy and unplayable on the day of the (delayed) playtest version.
Tested the update myself and I can agree with this gentleman, you can't even replay the fart scene with Katrina after submitting to her, it feels pretty much rushed
