i like mystery but i also want to know for certain if a choice is designed to end relationships. the context of wording is not always reliable enough alone for that. so i am forced to play in colored mode but that takes away much more of the mystery.

Purple mode would be a great in-between mode. best of both worlds.

As rightly stated by ZTex, the game already presents you with purple choices on some events, like being introduced to Val for instance:

In case of the above scene, this allows you to choose either the "red" or "blue" option for Val (Employer or Confidant) without Nanami's scores being affected by it (as only the difference between them has an impact).

yes but it makes all choices black, thus masking the choices which are defaulted black, which are choices that end relationships.

i want an inbetween mode that masks red and blue choices but DOESNT mask originally black choices

I could be wrong and I am sure Roman will confirm later but the black choices dont end anything directly.
They just give you friendship points. It would only end any chance of a sexual relationship if you keep picking friendship over red or blue.
In ther example below I would be on the love route as that has the most points.

Just a heads up, in the latest iteration of the game, I've taken to formatting the dead ends a little differently. Black choices that will end a relationship, will appear suffixed like this:


’Turn off the movie! (This will end any future sexual encounters with [Cassie])'

So regardless of whether the colors are on or off, if there is a choice that will lead you to a dead end with the character, it will be clearly labeled like the above.

There may be some black choices that don't prematurely end sexual relationships and these are for players who want to still experience the non-sexual parts of a character's story. So any black choice that doesn't have that specific warning attached, will still allow you to go into the chapter, but sooner or later you'll hit the above disclaimer and that's where you'll decide which characters you want to continue engaging with and which ones you won't.

This was implemented well in advance of this conversation and is something I'm doing in the current v2.x.x.

So no worries, I think I already got you covered mate!
