When putting this version together I decided that if they are going to have expanded roles in the story they were going to need real names, not just stripper names. Bad ending? From an evolutionary standpoint, you've already won the game. That's a lot of progeny. Plus, you can live more in a month than some people live in a lifetime. Win/Win, even if his life's a wreck in the end.

Though the... Neighbor's Daughter's daughter might have some fucked up genetics, to say the least.

I do have a vision. And a lot of that early stuff is going to get some retouching and reworking now that the code has been rebased and I'm the sole developer. Most of those earliest scenes were done in collaboration with a team that is no more. And some of the story points were co-developed and compromised on.

As a lot that material gets updated to work with the new code base, I plan the thicken up and expound on a lot of the earlier relationships. (One point that was made very early on is that you are given the option to cheat before having even met your wife in the game. Some players felt blind sided by that choice early on and I can understand why).

That said, I hate to comment too much on the Roger/Emily situation as I intend to give the players more frequent and earlier interactions with her when the time comes. This may clarify some of the questions as well as generate some new paths and opportunities for navigating your marriage.

I like all your characters, but I must admit, most of all I'm looking forward to the update with her.

Therefore, it is logical to assume that it is in her story that all the consequences of the decisions made by the MC are displayed. Both good and bad. There is a huge scope for imagination here. I'm not a big fan of NTR, but it is in these stories that it can fit most organically.

And I still hope that you will rework her story in the previous part. Because, as mentioned earlier, her motivation in the new version (love or hate) is not entirely clear. It is not backed up by anything from the previous version of the game.

Old saves don't work and the old content is not in the new version. I gave you a short cut to set all the character's paths the way you'd like at the beginning though. It was the best I could do.

However, the reason the saves and old content don't work is that the old code as completely rebased with the express intent of not breaking saves in the future. So far all the tests have been positive and saves breaks are hopefully a thing of the past finally.

Ok thanks for you reply, i mean i understand it (but i still don't like it ) but i am sure you tried to give the best option possible, its just that i like the game and seeing an "old saves don't work" sign always makes me loose interest in a game. I really have to start checking my sarcasm at the door. While I appreciate your efforts, I do indeed know that the game used to have animation. However, those were done by my former team member Fecalmancer who had a lot more patience to fuck and fight with Daz's shitty animation tools. I have no such patience and I get tired of Daz's broke ass timeline and keyframe editor not working correctly.

I do have plans to one day add animations back. But that is a long way into the future when I finally shift production away from Daz and into Blender. So for now, I'm opting for high quality stills over sloppy animation. I'm sorry if that disappoints but it is what it is.

I appreciate the diligence in researching the bug. I've added this to the glitch list and will figure out what is going on before the next update for sure. Without going into the details of the code, regardless of where the problem is, I think I've already thought of a better way to implement that feature so that there is zero probability to error. The pregnancy will occur when it is most appropriate to the story. I don't have a hard time line nailed down, but I'll know when it feels right for certain. Sorry for the non-committal answer but I'd rather be honest about it.

So now that my script for converting scrivener files into renpy code is complete and thoroughly tested, my plan is to try and do a release every two to three months.

Since I've been working from home I've been slacking on the real job quite a bit and devoting time to daily live streams to work on the art. Progress has been a lot faster and that Cassie chapter was completed in about four to five months. Which sounds like a long time but when considering the size and scope, and the fact I'm one man team, it's pretty impressive.

But future chapters will be shorter and come out a lot faster. This is my intent anyway. I'm hoping I can continue to pirate time away from the real job long enough to build up enough patron support to cease the regular job and just do this full time.

You know what I like? Writing news posts where I get to say "Everything is great and we're moving right along!"

So here we go, another boring news post where I get to tell you how smooth things are going! (Might have to move these news updates to every two weeks instead of every week.)

Seriously though, things are good. We're in the groove and everything is trucking right along.

We had four great streams this week to work on Lupita's chapter and the early artwork coming out of that process is wonderful!

Reception of the last release is still making the circuits but the majority of players seem pleased and the only bugs we're getting are few gui related inconsistencies that don't throw errors or break saves.

That's about it! We made it folks!

I'm just going sit back, continue writing story and make renders with you four to five days a week.
We're on easy street!

Well, ok. Not exactly. I do have some other things in the works. I guess I could share those with you.

The Script Converter

I have made a few changes to the way I write and code the game. But with our programming resting on the foundation of this Scrivener to Renpy converter, making those kinds of changes is easy and seamless. I just program some new tags for the converter to look for in the script, tell it what to do with them, and the game updates itself.

And since those new tags mostly relate to just logic statements, it doesn't change or break anything in the game. So as we go forward I'll continue to add tags as needed and fine tune the process. But a thirty minute programming session to the algorithm saves us hours of programming time on the game and just adds functionality and options.

3D Art Improvement

Let's not kid ourselves. This Cassie chapter has some of the most beautiful renders I've ever put together. My skill set with Daz, lighting, posing and 3D has certainly come a long way. But guess what, we can go further!

Now I'm not talking about any kind of major overhauls in the art or anything. But more like subtle improvements that come with the continued perfection of a process. A couple of things I'm looking to integrate on the very near horizon are:

  has become quite affordable in the last year. For $20 a month I can get access to Substance Painter, Substance Designer and Substance Alchemist. Access and training in this software will help us fix surface problems and inconsistencies in the game quickly. Makeup, mismatched skin tones, improved textures. In time, there should be no surface effect or we can't fix or achieve. And the results can be exported back into Daz or into Blender, so even as we grow in skill the value of this investment will grow with us.
  
  
• Zbrush: Like Substance, the price of

My real goal with ZBrush is the creation of highly detailed normal maps. Now for those who don't know, normal maps are used to create highly detailed surface textures on low poly meshes. It's how you achieve ultra high quality detail like skin pore and wrinkles without adding geometry or increasing your render time.   Obviously we aren't going to achieve that level of detail any time soon. But it's an example of why it's a worthy investment. And again, the surfaces and normals we create in Zbrush are directly exportable to Daz or Blender.
  
  
• Blender: And of course my Blender training continues to get stronger by the week as I continue to complete different courses and tutorials. Learning all the ins and outs. I plan to start by using Blender to create props and environments. As that process is perfected and we get fast and accurate with it, we'll start to move up to character work and animations.

These are short to long term goals. The Substance integration I think we can have integrated in the next month or so. Zbrush and Blender will take a bit longer.

But hey! Since I'm trying to transition to working on the game full time and all we're doing is writing story and making renders, I figure we have some flexibility to start learning new skills that will take this game and any future ones we make to the highest level possible!

I have always loved working on this project. But with each new level we hit in development, my enthusiasm just continues to grow.

These are exciting times and I look forward to seeing where we go from here!
