so dead or no?
Might as well consider it dead. It took about half a year to write Chapter 5, and that was supposedly completed in May. No telling how long the renders will take, especially since there's "unrelated ecchi scenes", which I take to mean more of the pointless anime waifu filler scenes. Probably could've been done by now if Shli put more focus on the characters that are actually part of the story and less time on what probably should've been a separate Patreon side hustle.

TL;DR, updates will come "eventually", but they probably won't arrive before everyone stops caring or be big enough to justify the wait.

I think he forgot to have a subscribestar tbh and moved the Patreon on pay-on-release to avoid feeling like he need to deliver stuff.

This game is just a passion project for him since he has an actual work and family to take care so update will come out when they are ready and you can choose to pay for having them a little bit early or just wait another bit and have it for free.

He had some work done on renders so means the writing should be locked down but knowing his work I doubt any free time will be open before half february at least

C5First2025News.png Chapter 5 - Some news!
Hello there,

Long time no see, Dreamers! I guess it's time to drop by and say hello.

As you may have noticed, I haven't been particularly active these past few months. Still, I won’t rant about that today (for once…).

It’s Valentine’s Day, and while I still consider it just another day where both good and bad things can happen, I’ll take this occasion to give you some updates.

First of all, I hope you enjoy the picture I’ve prepared. It’s been a while since I last created something to share, and I hope I still got it!

Now, about the fifth chapter of our dear ReMembers’ adventures—well, I happened to have some free time this week, so I made another batch of renders and finished two more events.

So far, we’ve got around 200 renders ready to go. In other words, I’m about halfway to the release.

I’ll do my best to deliver before summer, but no promises!

That’s it for today. In the meantime, I hope you all enjoy your day or night. Feel free to reach out to me on Discord if you feel like it!

Sweet dreams,
Shli

Its not, the dev is only very busy with his real life job and famaly
The dev's reasons and intent isn't the standard for the Abandoned prefix though. To quote from the Game Uploading Rules thread:

3. Prefixes

  1. On-hold: used for a developer who temporarily stops working on a game for whatever reason and makes a clear public statement about it, if they do not resume work in 6 months the prefix is changed to Abandoned.
  2. Abandoned: used in the following cases:
    • The developer states that the development has been permanently suspended.
    • After 3 months of inactivity from the developer's public creator/crowdfunding accounts (Patreon, SS, etc), we will resolve special circumstances or scenarios on a case-by-case basis (no creator accounts, creators developing for free, Patreon accounts under review/ban).
    • No game update has been released for an abnormally long period of time (>18 months).
    • Game threads that are marked On-hold for over 6 months with no game update.
    • Note: this prefix is only removed upon the release of a new update for purchase/download.
It's for utility purposes, it's not a personal judgement. There may very well be a perfectly legitimate reason the dev is taking a long time to update, and they might have the purest of intentions. If the dev releases an update or something, cool, it'll be removed. This is simply a standard that is set to inform people that there has been no progress on a project for a long time, and such cases are far more often than not likely to not receive further updates. There are many, many games out there that will forever remain unfinished. (Again, I'm not saying that's necessarily the case here, it simply meets the criteria for the prefix.)
