This goes beyond disappointment, no words can explain this. First of all, the rendering and posing of the Son's dance segments took him (Kyle) around 3 weeks total, so you would expect it to take him the same amount of time to render the Father's one (give or take), then unto his latest post adds the fact that he still needs to write the dialogues... sure you can't expect him to slap any dialogue he wrote previously before finalizing a rendering that is specific to it, but you do create an outline for it beforehand so you don't waste to much time on it afterwards (i.e storyboarding). Then he has the gall to say that all that plus the post-work (adding audio bits, free royalty music) requires a cushion time to dismiss his lack of commitment to punctuality... he might as well just start rendering, posing and writing for Act II, chapter 1 and add it into this 6 months, 9 days slow and (unnecessarily) prolonged update.

I suggest that it´s better to close this thread. F95zone is a pirate-forum, but it is also a marketing Tool for developers. I don´t think it is good to give Kyle a platform here until he´ll release something, because words mean nothing until proven. So my suggestion is, to close this thread until the 25 of january (I think it would be best to do this on many games, whose dev lack similar to this one (games, who are onhold, abandoned etc.).
I, for one, strongly disagree. And I've not be lenient to this dev. But people can decide for themselves if they want to support a 4-months delayed game or not. This site gives all the informations needed to make a decision. And I prefer to know what happens about the game, instead of having the thread closed out of spite.

if people want to know what happen, they can pledge as you said. They don´t need this platform for that. Sometimes it is better to protect the users. I pledged to him, just because I thought it is going to be released this or next month. Not going to happen now. He´s not transparent and I really don´t know, what you still want to know about his updates. There won´t be something new he´s posting. If there are rules violated on steam, the game itself will be taken out of the steam-library wether there are still people, who want to buy this game or not.

I´d say, F95zone should not only apply some rules to his users, but also to the devs, who use this site to promote their games. F95zone grew as a platform and they have a big influence to the users and potential pledgers. Still many abandoned games and many wasted money. I think, that this can be partly reduced, if this forum is trying to get more strict. (make threads of games invisible if onhold, delete them if abandoned. Or take out the Patreon Link, other Links, which lead to donation adresses etc.)

Just think how many games will be updated in this time frame that he has provided.

Milfy City by itself will probably have two if not three updates that will probably have more content than his one year update will.

Nonetheless, I will still play the new update if it is indeed released in January, just to be probably disappointed.

Only problem, Bud, is the marketing aspect. Due to it's organic trafic, F95 became a website that gives strong " link juices " and visibility to potential " investors" in regards to the devs = not only does he get promoted here, but his patreon page also gets traffic. In a sense, I'm pretty sure it's Patreon who hits the jackpot concerning organic trafic, which makes your money increase in relation to the " clicks" . Now, what does the pledgers (I'm not one btw) get in return in terms of ROI = return on investment? Only promises and incomplete screenshots... And now, a release date for the 25th of January. Some might hate me, but this is an enormous lack of respect. :/

Let me get this straight: you want to close the thread to protect users and stop the marketing, and so users who want to keep themselves informed need to pledge? And how are we more "protected"?
(Aside the obvious fact that, and I talk at least for myself, I can protect myself quite well, while still reading the thread here, thank you.)

Givin I pledged to him, just because I thought it is going to be released this or next month. Not going to happen now. The world doesn't stop with Dual Family. I downloaded some pretty nice "abandoned" games, like FreeCity, The Gift, The Gift Reloaded, for example (a 0.10, 0.25 and 0.04 versions which have way more content than most v1.0). If your "rules" had been enforced, I would have lost a great amount of fun.

Yeah and, Bud, the reviews and the discussions are reflecting that. So, if some random dude sees this game here and says: "Hey, this dev sucks with updates, but I still want to make him swim in money. Take this 1000$!" what is the problem with you?

(Even more, I suppose you both realize the "marketing" happened already. I'd be quite surprised to learn that someone came here, read the thread and decided to pledge in the last month or so. He is making money out of people who pledged ages ago, when the game was promising.)

So, again no: this idea is against my interests, against what I have experienced, against my beliefs about freedom of speech (for what they are worth), and against any practical usefulness.

Don't mix things. Liberty of speech is one thing. Business is a thing. Lack of respect is another. Won't try to change your mind. If you think you're right, so be it. I won't argue with someone who think he knows more than me on this topic. :)

Yeah, well, wasn't me the one who was asking to create a new rule about hiding/removing content out of spite, to "protect users", so, as long you don't try to change what I can see on this site, and to "protect me" against my will, for everything else, suit yourself.

Oh boy. Last update: 30th March. More than 6 months ago.

First episodes came out on a monthly basis (I started playing it when the 4th episode came out). Then it started to crumble.

Last episode was as big as the first ones that came out on a monthly basis: what the hell happened with this Gumdrop guy?

dual family update will have 1200 and something renders. i think 0.2 of Milfy City had around the same number, excluding animations (dont quote me on that) 0.4 had 1200 something aswell. so yeah, icstor does 1200 renders for ~ 2 and half months, gumdrop does it in 9 months.

can´t deny the fact, that I´m disappointed. He gave the impression, that we´re near an update with his tracker. Well, he lacks transparency, also with his newly bought graphic cards, no pictures for proof on his site.

I also agree with closing the thread, i dont know if this will change something regarding the developer's ethics , but it the least thing "we" can do as a community for protesting in our own pirate way. It is certain that this forum brought new patreons to the dev, it really raised the awareness of the game, made the game profitable. So, the ethical thing to do would be to close the thread, not delete it, just close it until the "release date". Newcomers must know and NOT be lured into becoming this guy's patreons.

Just my 2cents.
