UPD. Adding some more context: the background renders used in Duality are the stock ones. They can be found in other games. So it boils down to character renders and scripting. Somehow a lot of competitors deliver a new update every 4-6-8 weeks but our guy can't even integrate pity music.

Why do these game devs do this? Why can't they just make a straightforward game like B.A.D. or the like? Huh? Maybe we can grow up one day and stop playing in the sandbox. P.S. I did spend too much time with this one in the hopes that things would finally clear up, but they never did. It only got more and more confusing. And like I said there was absolutely NO payoff in the end. Why? I couldn't find it in all that sand!

It was already established many times before that Patreon doesn't incentivize amateur smut game creators to set pay per version as they do not curate this revenue area and simply collect a platform fee.

In regards to SFM, loop, or short cinematics creators, they have a much more faster delivery. This is because most of them scale professionally as they do more and more stuff plus the production tools are good.

The "game creators" at most do not understand what they are getting into. The only solid producer of this sort of content I know is NLT Media. They even distribute their games through Steam. So being a studio with solid revenue stream they make long term planning etc.

Just keep all this in mind guys, don't get frustrated over some kids having a small side gig with making smut games that don't deliver.

To be fair, quite a few distribute on Steam, and among these are enough devs who show the same level of competence. I bought one there which didn't get any updates for a year.
I would be impressed more if one was able to convince the GOG staff that he knows what he's doing.

For this game I payed on itch.io, it's good enough not to go as freebie into my library.
Sandbox requires more work than a visual novel, that much is through, but they still are pretty much straightforward.

What I miss is a game with an adventure aspect which is not just about being at the right place at the right time, but solving subquests, getting certain items and so on, without stat grinding but everything being event based. These games require a lot more planning.

Well, the guy I bought from is from the US, so that would actually support that scenario.


Putting all people from a continent into one drawer is never a good idea btw, not even all from one country. Next we get the people who still think that there is an actual language called "European" and the ones who think that Germany is still a bombed ruin after WW2 (some years ago I met an exchange student from the US who was surprised that there are functional moving staircases in Germany).

Trust me, you find just as many lazy buggers in Germany as you find everywhere else (I lived there for 6 years). As everywhere else you find all types of people. (If you want to know: I live very close to the place, where the now american "Hutterer" originally came from).

I don't think there's a lot of developers for adult games from Europe anyway, I think most are from eastern countries and some from the US.

US was, is and always will self sustainable country, and is in that regard the safest country, especially if they stay friends with Canada and Mexico. That being said, I'm glad I live in Europe and I love it here.
