Episode 6 - Progress Report #22
Hey everyone
Praise to the Goddess for she has blessed me with a working PC
I finally got my new PC back and it seems like everything's fixed now . I've been back working on renders since Wednesday. Setting the DAZ library up was bit of a pain in the butthole, but it looks like I got it all working now.
First impressions so far: Render times are down a little bit, from an average of ~35 minutes to ~25 minutes. But more importantly, loading and saving scenes have massively improved. Saving any scene used to cost me more than a minute, now I'm down to around 10 seconds. This will help me a lot in keeping the flow going without having to take a break after every render. Iray Previews are also a quite a bit faster now (this means loading a preview of how the final image will look like after setting up a scene, especially important to check lighting).
I haven't tested yet how it all holds up with big scenes with many background characters. I expect some mild improvements there as well. We'll see when I get to the bigger scenes eventually.
Here's the current progress:
- Writing: 100%
- Coding: 90%
- Environments: 75%
- New Characters: 7/7

I am SO happy to finally be back working full force. The last couple weeks have been rather frustrating. But we're back now, now let's see if I can speed up the rendering process a bit .
❤ Enjoy your weekend! Happy Easter! ❤
