Could someone explain to me some inconsistencies with possible Orion's death, please? If he was killed in the lab (after looking into the egg) he should lose everything, including the gem (according to Idriel), but he appears at the fancy dinner, wearing a tuxedo. Moreover, in this case, he and Annie didn’t know each other fate in the space station, but they never discussed it…

Regarding the possible deaths at the space station, it is highly likely that when a player dies, they only lose the items on their person and their levels. The Gem was probably stored elsewhere. At the station the MC probably only had the clothes he was wearing. There must be a kind of genral storage that each player has in the Nexus or something because some items don't even appear in some servers and when going to servers the items you last had when there are what appear on the player.

Idriel does say "If your character dies, you'll lose all your levels and whatever is in your inventory ....", so as long as he did not have it on him, he would be safe as in your inventory would imply what you have on your person. Didn't the fit girl (forgot her name) also try to give her items to MC when they first faced Thanatos so that she would not lose them? That would also indicate that.

Yeah after that clash with Thanatos I won't be surprised if he learned not to put important shite in his inventory and stored it elsewhere after the Heist. That, or the gem is a quest item that doesn't degrade from your inventory if you die (I dunno, I haven't tested and I don't want to DX).

Nope, the gem is rare item and you can lose it if you die and on your person. After all, if you kill someone with a gem, you should be able to get it.
No, what I meant is that it doesn't get wiped like the rest of your inventory if you die from a non-player or the environment or falling damage or whatever. It just either stays on your body or in the place of your death until someone picks it up.

Are the "Gems of Doom" ™ Eternums "off switch"?
We still don't know. There's still no evidence to suggest what they actually do, only that they're supposedly needed to open Acheron and whoever collects all ten becomes master of Eternum and Ulysses CEO (which at this point I think is a whole load of poppycock unless proven otherwise).

Sorry about that, I misunderstood. I would assume it would stay in the place you die.

I would assume most of your items stay with the body when you die. The few dead bodies of players we've seen were just lying there, we just haven't looted them. Like the guy Chop-Chop accidentally kills, and the twin Thanatos kills. Their bodies were there and could possibly have been looted. There is probably a despawn timer on the bodies, they disappear eventually, like maybe the next time a person logs in their dead body despawns and any items are finally lost then, but they might be lootable till then.

Don't know though, this is just speculation. I would like to know why looting hasn't happened much, is it just something the MC hasn't thought of doing, he's been around a few dead bodies, and not always in a time crunch. Though time has not been on his side around most of the bodies he's found. In a way he even does loot the last audio tape from Isaac's body.

If you're asking what happen if you die there are a bit of changes in dialogues in the game that says "He retrieved the gem from your dead body in the station":

No, inventory means everything the person has collected in Eternum and the Gem, weapon etc. is always 'on him', remember, as Orion lost his the first Gem. So Orion should 'to start from scratch' (according to Idriel) wth nothing left.

I disagree.

Read her words: "... whatever is *in* your inventory:" This is common game language for what is on the PC. Item separate from inventory, like in chests are not in a player's inventory. Now it is true that we don't know if Eternum has such caches but there is no reason to assume it doesn't. Dalia wanted Orion to save her inventory when she was afraid, she might die. If she really had to start with nothing, then what difference would medieval weapons and armor she couldn't use on any other server make? What we have seen indicates that items not on a person when they die aren't lost. Otherwise, what is the use of setting up a bank in Eternum or having a vault? Why set up an elaborate security system at all? The safest place is just to carry it all with you because you lose it anyway and at least if you've got it "in your inventory" then you can't get it stolen like Orion and crew did with the heist.

Edit: And consider Ion. The weapon Anne wanted to get Orion was stolen before the owner could get it from a warehouse and bring it to Orion. Why didn't the lady have it on her? Anne had massive swords with her there. Are those "in her inventory" on the space station? Then why didn't she bust them out? Because they weren't in her inventory there.

I think the proper term for it, is that items are "droppable" or "will be dropped" (also "lost" can be also defined as missing and can be found and not GONE) when you die knowing that the Gem of Doom that Orion lost when he died was retrieved from his dead body and taken by to the station. there a chance that an item will only be GONE if no one has picked up the item or it is left untouched for atleast 24 hours.

Also I'm curious what does the ability Annie have because she is the only character hasn't showed her abilities yet

Annie seems to be a swordsman or something and her level is just 1 level below Nova(I think its 34) is there a slight chance that she has the Hyas and is she's not using it for a reason (maybe she didn't want to expose herself that she has one of the 3 Weapons of Atlas) or maybe she most likely get used of the power of it. There's also a theory that Thanatos has the Hyas so maybe Annie didn't have it... maybe.

Nancy pretty much has the commander role given that she's winging her position as Empress of the Rome server with ease. Also she knows how to use her fists, so there's that.

Annie knows how to use offensive magic. Plus her performance in the Heist and smol stature basically puts her in the best position as the party's rogue/thief.

I'm trying to find any weakness in your points:
1. Dalia wanted Orion to save some item(s) from her inventory (not her inventory) by passing them to Orion (to his inventory). She wanted to visit her favorite Ion server again (with weapons and armor), of course.
2. Because she has a special warehouse for them.
3. Because she had nobody to fight.
[btw, could Annie's swords be the Hyas (the first weapon of Atlas)?]
+ + +
Nova took her Dione from nowhere when they were attacked, so inventory is really 'on a person'.
Why did Thanatos take the Gem from dead Orion? Because it was in his inventory (= on him)
After rebirth Orion should start from scratch, so he can't have any stuff.
= = =
And why Annie and Orion didn't discuss their death on a space station at all?

If a gem wasn't lootable in your storage (not inventory), then everybody would store them in there. But apparently Orion got to retrieve it from his previous "corpse" before someone else did. But where is the corpse if the station was blown up?

1. Ion is the server that Annie and Orion went to; we don't even know if Dalia has ever been there. Dalia and Orion were in Ekbar(sp?) the medieval server. Dalia and Orion also go to the roman server. She would Dalia have lost her roman armor if she died to Tahantos in the medieval server? That would seem odd to me.
2. The chick Annie was buying the blade from was an idiot then. If a person full "inventory" is on them and is everything they own, then keeping things in a warehouse they can be stolen from is the stupidest thing anyone could do. If a person inventor is all their item in every server stored as data they can access at any time (as allowed by servers), then there is zero reason not to keep everything you own "on you" and it is more of a risk to keep stuff somewhere else.
3. She had aliens to fight. Just like Nove kills that bear when it sneaks up on her with Dione, if Annie has all her weapons (even if that server doesn't allow her to use her high-level magic) at all times, then she should have taken out her blades (or some other weapon) and her and Orion could have killed all the aliens. One of the reasons the aliens were so dangerous is because no one was armed on the station. Or at least they weren't supposed to be, the Merc guy broke that rule.

Dione is a special case, as a weapon of Atlas it can be used in servers it shouldn't be in. Maat mentions this, Nova shouldn't have had a gun on he while there at all. Also, because it can change shape, she could keep it small, like a single shot Daringer she could carry in her pocket at most times, but then make it change into a sniper rifle or whatever when she needs to. that means that she wasn't pulling to from out of nowhere, like some inventor bag, but she could have had it on her in her pocket the whole time and just pulled it out when she needed it.

Yes, Thantos takes the Gem from Orion because he has it on him, at the time, he had been carrying it with him, remember he didn't even know if it was real at first. But think about the one they stole; it was being kept in a safe but was still owned by that casino owner.

Think about that as well. If the casino owner dies in Eternum, would he really "start from scratch?" Would his bank and hotel and casino in Eternum just go away? Of course not. they would still be his, but any items on him might disappear when his body de-spawns or he is looted. Starting from scratch is just a term, like inventory. The term is somewhat mailable. In nearly every game that has ever been Inventory is the items on the player character at any given moment.

I could be wrong, but I've seen nothing in game that show definitively that a player death makes them lose all their items across all servers, and I think the very existence of vaults, safes, warehouses, banks and such for item storage is a big mark against the idea that a player's inventory is all the items they own and not just the items they carry.

I haven't seen the possible deaths fully play out, but if I'm not mistaken one of them is if you go the route of not destroying the station, another is while planting the bomb, and the last is as you are going into the teleporter. So, two deaths prevent the destruction of the station, and the girls could come get the gem guns blazing, and the last one could be Orion dying but his body falls into the teleporter so Annie could get the Gem then? Just speculation.
