It might simply be because the last few days she hasn't been one of the shown characters in my progress. The Mage tower I was a bit afk mentally. The deeper memory was the house quest with her for me. I am more curious about what the upcoming event (With the spicy food) will do to my list vs the H

Yep, more or less 2 years ( but consider that until the 0.5 the release frequency of the updates was more faster) from 0.5 we started to get one more scene and the content of each update increased considerably ( and apparently this is the new form since 0.6 will 4 scenes as well).
Dont worry about that - nothing is going to happen to the waifus. It is designed to be a happy and wholesome harem game and there will not be much in the way of drama or conflict as far as romances are concerned. The quote about story length said "between 12 to 20 updates," not "20 total." Could be that he could stretch it out to 20, but as I said before - even if we take into account the potential breather chapters - I really doubt Cari would stretch the story that far unless he introduces some new players or events that would throw a monkey wrench at the current pacing.We are in for a long ride though, because if I understood correctly the updates should be 20 in total, so I think 4/4 years and half to see the game completed.

Nah, I'm guessing he's addressing pretty much every crazy theorist out there who's been throwing theories at him (I've seen some in the Itch.io comments asking Cari for confirmation on some of them, but Cari's just like "I ain't commenting on that XD").
