I think the keyword here is all, Caribdis already has a great game they happened to complete, but the reality is that for most AVN devs there's no reason to believe that they have the will, the willpower, or the skill to drive these projects to completion, so regular updates with a reasonable jitter in content/quality is the only way for anyone else to judge if a project is worth following, let alone supporting.
This is just a long way of saying that while I'd like to agree with your statement, I regretfully disagree that it holds for all but the very few authors who have shown to be trustworthy.

I am glad you said "regular" updates, and not "rapid" updates. I agree that regularity is critical to build confidence in the game. It is also important, though, that the updates feel "substantial". I am not talking AAA quantity here, but something more than what many nascent VNs here do, where one "chapter" is a handful of renders, maybe a couple video scenes, while barely moving the story forward.

I agree that it takes time to build up the confidence of your players and credibility within the community. But sacrificing story/quality to show "hey I release once a month" is not the way to go, IMO.

This is torture. Checking once every two days what's up in the latest updates page only to find straight up garbage. Everytime. Every game I follow is taking an abnormally long time to release a new update. The only one saving my thirsty ass right now is Superhuman.

i dont care how good the vn is. Waiting for 1 episode a whole year totally sucks. Which is not the case with Eternum but we close to this. I don't know how you can keep emotionally connected to a story when the gap is that long. I guess until something changes in terms of technology or these people stops doing their work alone, there's nothing left to do but accept it.

Not a problem for me because I play so many VNs I very often mix them between each other (especially if they use the same HS/Daz models). So almost every VN I follow I replay from the beginning each update even if updates come out each month. Hardly ever you find a VN that is fast to update and has so good story you don't need a reminder. In this case Eternum has great story but time between episodes is so large I replay it from scratch with each new release.

IMO she is not really interesting compared to the rest of the cast. Which is to be expected, because in the end, she is just there to have an early lewd scene. I would say it is a surprise that she turned up again.

Some brought her up in this thread before, especially after her return during the western episode. But honestly...the game has enough LIs as it is that kinda have to "fight" over getting scenes at leas in every other update. Bringing a side character into that who clearly isn't an LI to begin with, wouldn't benefit the game.

Also running into her in town? You do realize she could technically live anywhere in the world, right? Having her by chance also live in Kredon which isn't even supposed to be that large to begin with, would be awkward. Sure, Cari could write it that way, but it would feel pretty contrived in my opinion.

The game should focus on the harem girls and shouldn't "waste" scenes on secondary characters at this point. The situation with Orion and the other girls is weird enough to solve, bringing in another girl with which Orion would essentially cheat on the rest? No, that wouldn't make sense.
