Get over yourself. I checked your profile, and your activity upon this thread, it is overwhelming negative for no reason whatsoever. If you want something 'refined enough' for your 'palate', why not stick to your college reading list? There's absolutely nothing wrong with this VN, and it should be considered relative to those within the same genre, in which case, it is outstanding. Of course it doesn't stand up to some masterpiece of literature, because it doesn't try to. The dev is not a world-renowned author, nor do they style themselves in such a way. Have you ever thought, perhaps, it isn't what you're reviewing that is the issue, but rather your perspective and asinine expectations? I think, as do the majority of F95 members, that Eternum has elevated itself within the genre of which it is party to. It's you, bud, not us.

According to Carbdis on his Discord. He's going to add a scene for those that choose to meet with Regina instead of Penny. Regina will ghost the MC and will have negative consequences to the Penny path. He'll implement this for the Public Release.

On that I agree, but not at the party.
That was the first time you meet her, it was crystal clear that this was a trap by Caribdis, the party as a whole was designed to cement both Nova's ( the choice you make with her in the library is pretty clear as well) and Penny's trust in Orion ( and to show Regina is a bad apple that deserve to be punished).

BTW SteveyP did Caribdis say anything on Discord about clarifying Penny's college status in the upcoming Public Release fixes? I believe ArDZer called out this one a while back...
I presented the argument that maybe Regina and Penny had known each other for longer hence the remark but you never know.

Could the explanation be that 'college' and 'university' are not synonymous in the UK? There, 'college' can be synonymous with 'high school'. Even so, the wording is strange, since the phrasing should then be 'And all 3 years of college, really'.
EDIT: Not to mention that they are in the United States, where 'college' and 'university' ARE nearly synonymous.

Also, game's set in the US of A, not the UK. OIAL was set in the latter, though. Unless that's not what you meant and you're saying Caribdis is from the UK hence the idea that he would look at 'college' and 'university' synonymously?

That theory really wouldn't make sense, as we refer to what the Americans call "junior high" as "secondary school" or "high school" (11-16). "College" as the term is used in the United Kingdom, also known as "sixth form", lasts two academic years (late 16 to early 18), within which period students take their A-Levels (usually), (supposedly) preparing them for university.
Addendum: I say "supposedly" because I really do not think it does, outside of the academic material. Most people that young, myself included, have no idea what they want to do with the rest of their lives, and due to an immature (physiologically speaking) prefrontal cortex, make poor life choices. It's no wonder so many people end up doing junk degrees, or never making use of their degree, often going into unrelated fields. Or indeed, all of those bachelor's pulling pints, steaming flat whites, and flipping burgers.

Maybe Penny goes 3 years in college, but per year she just attend as a freshman and taken on 2-3 different courses until she taken journalism. (And maybe Regina made her fuck up the the courses she get that make her take a new one.)
And Penny is 21, if she take a freshman's courses for three years it will make sense.
Let's say Penny took
Biology in her first college (she's 18)
Chemistry in the next (19)
Engineering in the last (20)
That's technically 3 years.

I have to comment here.
The only difference is - Caribdis developed this update consistently with release time and the party was like 5% of the release. It was purposefully not the focal point, rather just a side feature. Other than that it included tons and tons of story progression and focused on heavily developing several LI storylines. It felt consistent, immersive and was one of the best updates I've played in any game. And it was a nice balance between not going too fast and building relationship, while also allowing for plenty of story-appropriate lewd content.
The other game you mention for comparison took AN ENTIRE milking YEAR to develop maybe 4 or 5 slides, a super elaborate walking pumpkin render and then devoted 95% of the episode to the party free roam. And a large part of the party was just looking for a key in a dark screen 5 playthroughs in a row. As if I was playing a 2002 puzzle game in a library. I would much rather play a story focused update and then a separate dedicated interactive game outside of adult game genre. And given that most people trashed that party-only episode (at least compared to previous updates) and loved the one for Eternum from what I've seen, I'd say that your opinion would be in the minority. But then again, everyone likes different stuff so nothing wrong with that.

It is technically possible she got into college ~ 17y 11m old, took a random major for 3y and is now starting her bachelor in journalism 21. Either dat or, while working on her backstory, the dev got distracted by a thing or two

So according to a Founder member. Penny, Nova and Nancy were aged up after the start of the game to make Penny's flashback work better. That specific line of dialogue from the 0.1 release likely didn't get changed due to Carbdis missing that line. The man himself told me that he's spotted it and fixed it. The fix is probably in the Master Tier link. So you can probably see the fix for yourself if you pledge (wink wink) or when the public release drops (February 14th)
