Cari's pretty adamant that he's going to hit his mid-December release target, but some have doubts and think it'll release a bit later than that. We'll see, I suppose.

Everyone seems to think Chang's going to take over as MC, but I'm holding out for Chop-Chop.

It'll be a buddy comedy - Chop Chop and Chang are going to rescue Orion with the Power of hilarity and shenanigans, and lots of Slapstick comedy.

I envy the dudes that will play this game for the first time after the game is fully complete.

No waits between updates and cliffhangers, no multi-year arguing on forums, no entitled whining about ""slow"" updates- just gunning through the whole game in a day or three, saying "yeah it was pretty good" and then forgetting it.

That was me with Once in a Lifetime. I discovered that game a month after the final update was released and I had a really, really great two days.

It's less about you, and more about society driving me towards misanthropy that I can't help but snap. AI could be a wonderful tool to help artists produce great work - instead we see shit like My New Girlfriend, that is clearly spat out from prompts with no design intentions from the "author," to create a hollow, soulless experience, that somehow has almost as many people willing to pay for it as Pale Carnations.

It makes me sick.

Well... I get where you're coming from, to an extent. I'll let you in on a secret, though... I've been trying to beat Eternum so I can play the two games in my signature. I just really like the communities and the look of each of those games, and it's not like both devs haven't been hard at work trying to make something good (I promise you, they both are doing just that). I've heard all of the arguments six ways to Sunday, so I'm not looking to argue, but like I said, I can understand your point of view.

I've also been investing a lot of time just learning how both AI art and Daz art is made (and this new Passion Eye engine, but that's another story...) to see if I could learn either to make something of my own at some point. No matter how many ways I look at it and how many discussions I've had on this topic, I simply just don't agree that games with AI art lack soul or are necessarily worse because of the medium, and that's why I'm still considering it for my own use in the future.

For my own work, the main focus would be the writing, as that's what I've always cared about and has been a large part of my life for over half the time I've been alive, so I would hate to have people write off my work (should I go the AI route) just because of the art style when that's not even what I'd be most proud of...

My opinion on the scenes for 0.8 :

Annie and Dalia are 99% guaranteed (events, lot of sneek peaks with Dalia and Annie, current story, update render).
High probability for Calypso as well, the ongoing events and updated menu doesn't fool me.
The last could be Nancy because of the lack of scenes currently.

But there is very little to no surprise in this selection.

So i'm going too add a first threescene with eitheir Dalia/Alex or Annie/Nancy with the former having the best chances by far. I only thought of Annie/Nancy because it would be convenient LI-repartition-wise. I can't see how Annie would be confortable with multiple persons for her first time.

So for me, it would be : Dalia/Alex, Annie, Nancy, Calypso. But I actually think there would be one more "suprise" but i can't think of anything.

Eternum is so great, I'm not sure I'm gonna have room in my heart for other characters now, other games gonna look really bad after this one.
The production value, the renderings, the musics, Eternum is just above the rest.
Congrats to the devs, can't wait to play it more. ❤

I guess I can try Once in a Lifetime if the withdraw is too hard.
Or maybe redo the game with my wife, even tho I'm not so sure that she can hold her suspension of disbelief for such a long game.

EDIT : Is there a way to know in which chapter I'm at, in any given time? I like to how where I'm at %wise in order to not rush the game when I'm in the last 33%. How ~long is the game in this current version?

The universal renpy mod has, in the last couple versions, added an option to show you a progress bar. But it's not really where you are between the beginning and end, but more what % of the screens/images you've seen across ALL playthroughs.

Thanks good sir. I just find a way, by reading the summary of the Eternum Walkthrough I know figure I'm near the end of the V0.3. No quit time to slow down but I'm not in a hurry to finish it so soon.

I think introducing non-LIs at the start of the game makes sense because you want to give sexy content to your audience and you don't want to rush the develop the LIs in the game. This is why we got Eva and Maat in the early chapters.

But I think after the LIs groundwork has been laid, pivoting from them to a non-LI will just waste time that could be spent elsewhere. No one will want to see a scene between MC and some random girl he just met - they will want a scene with a LI in its place.

if Carib does do that, I think a lot of people will just be disappointed.

I can see Idriel being chosen - although she is not technically a LI (like Calypso), she has been established as an important character with ties to the MC in some regard from the start.
