It's not really mean to be played as a roleplay where you pick best girl and get substantially different playthroughs if you focus on different LIs (there are games like that aroudn here), it's a collect-em-all where there's an intended best path and little mistakes are OK but too many or big ones will cut content for worse alternatives.

yeah I get that. I'm not saying it's difficult or anything, I guess it's more of a matter of personal taste.

but like for me, I feel like there could be more of a middle ground than the way Eternum does it. For example, take a look at Superhuman. That is also a "collect-em-all" where you're not really meant to keep replaying and focusing on different girls, but it uses a lenient point system to decide if you're on routes, rather than a point system AND insisting that you make specific choices at specific times or you get locked out regardless of points.

Nah, don't compare Eternum to SG. Both of Ocean's VNs pale in comparison to the content Eternum has, despite being older projects. Sure, it takes quite some time for the updates to come, but you at least know they will arrive, unlike with SG or WIAB, which may take more than a year to come out. You can see the story being resolved and relationships with the characters being developed by each update, unlike any of Ocean's VNs.

Besides, Caribdis does have one VN already completed (Once in a Lifetime), while Ocean can't even reach halfway of any of his works before he decides to remake them.

Exactly this, I don't even remember the names of the characters let alone the plot cuz the interval b/w updates are just too damn long for SG and WIAB(and also BaD on that note).

Pretty sure I made it past there my first play through without buying it but maybe I'm remembering wrong. I seem to remember an option to set off a bomb when you're up there but it's been awhile.

It think you make it past that point either way, but if you don't have the Pendant you "die" in Eternum, so have to respawn and lose some stuff.

I don't remember what's going and stuff has presumably been added/changed in previous episodes. What do I need to wipe for this (and any other games here) so that I can start a completely fresh playthrough without any residue (gallery unlocks and the like) from playing previous versions? Ideally I'd like it to be like I'm playing for the first time ever albeit with the current build. Thanks for any help.

You have to delete your saves in your Renpy folder.

C:\Users\YourUsername\AppData\Roaming\RenPy\GameName

And the save folder that's in the game subfolder of your Eternum Folder.

....\Eternum-0.8.5-pc\game

Thanks for giving actual help instead of "just delete your saves". While looking at folders I noticed one labeled persistent but I wasn't sure that had anything to do with saves or if it just helps the game work.

That's for stuff that's cross-save. Like unlocked gallery images typically.

i have a question. because some songs can't be used due to copyright issues, when 0.9 is released, is there any mod that can replace the new songs with the old songs. like penelope's scene in the car , or alex's scene in the apartment. i feel like these two songs are too perfect to be replaced.

It was one of the setting for the earlier episodes, right? And we had the Zenomorphs with Luna and Annie Cyberpunk, but not explored enough there. Maybe we are due a futuristic setting to explore.

Does anybody else think that mega fireball from Annie was a bit much? Some characters may be getting too strong, lol.
