After 1 and a half months and 3 working brain cells on alternating shifts.....I finally finished it....Definitely the best game I played on this site in terms of sheer production quality.....despite the colossal, suspiciously Annie-shaped plot holes. Just to be met with the BIGGEST CLIFFHANGER EVER WHYYYYYY
I could be remembering wrong, but I'm pretty sure they didn't pull the gun until after he turned his back.

Actually he does have reason to suspect it will, as it did once or twice already. I don't have the screens at end right now but from what I remember:
1. The way he dodges a ball thrown by Axel.
2. The way he punches the guy who was beat by Dalia (right before the beach scene with Dalia).
Plus the way his "real" body changes is a strong sign that he does have abilities "outside" Eternum.
The fact is, he was being an unconsiderate cocky asshole who didn't think of the junkies as potential threat because he was so full of himself. He unnecessarely belittled them so hard even I wanted to slap him in that scene. And I think that's the point. To show that no matter how powerful you are, being an overconfident asshole is always dangerous.

I didn't realize how much good voice acting would improve a VN, then again I am still pretty noobie to the genre. I haven't kept up with FreshWomen updates, but recently played it and the VA made the below average story actually passable. I can imagine how good it'd be for something like this... Anyone knows if Caribdis thought about implementing it in the future maybe?

Doubt it. Voice acting is really hard to do well, and tends to be very expensive. Most AVNs are done by small teams relying mostly on donations, selling subscriptions, or selling copies. For something like Eternum it would be very difficult.

Basically said the equivalent of "If I can't hire Hollywood-tier voice acting for the main cast*, then no."
*Tho he's fine with hiring voice actors for minor roles like Isaac back in 0.4 and The Narrator back in 0.7

Yep, it was a memorable lesson to Orion that overconfidence can get him and those close to him killed. That even the seemingly weakest opponents can be deadly if he's too cocky. He's gotten stronger and faster, but he's not Superman, bullets won't just bounce off him.

Seeing as how the update will include events past the current area, what's stopping the dev from releasing that area alone and the end of the update is when he leaves, instead of taking a year to release each update? Last I saw progress was at 68% after 7 months?

What's stopping him is a Patreon poll a few years back where the majority of his subs voted for meatier/lengthier updates over smaller but more sporadic updates. Doing what you're suggesting is basically reneging from that, so...yeah, no.
