Okay I'll admit defeat. How the HECK do you start this thing?
Seriously, I hit start new game, I get that red screen whit the "decline and cancel" keys, I hit Z that pops up a choice box where if I hit Cancel it closes the box and if I hit Back it takes me to the shop with stage select and all that, but I can't do anything there.
I can change between the pages, I can even select the stage and difficulty, but no idea how to start the actual level... :noexpression:

This is really the only reason why I don't like Japanese devs. About 90% of them just can't code menus nor how to navigate them in any intuitive fashion. That or maybe Asian keyboards really are this different to ours and makes the experience completely different.

To start a level, press stage select from the hub screen, then press stage select again. From here you can scroll up and down through stages, then press C to start it. From what I can tell. Menus are kinda dreck lol.

Yeah getting to the stage select is fine, I just didn't know that out of the blue C was supposed to be used. Why now Z? What's wrong whit the button that was used for selecting everything else?
Also the main problem is why not just start the game when we hit New Game? Maybe offer to skip the tutorial with that popup window and have a shop within the game at the beginning. Things like the gallery, and level select should all be part of the main menu like in most games and that's that.

If you were meant to say "reck" then yeah I agree, if you meant "direct" then HOW?

Once you start a new game, on the red screen you have to press Z (Decide Key) then press Z again while on the "Back" option. That will take you to the main game screen. The red screen is the save screen, so you'll end up there again if you want to save. To save, you have to press X (Cancel Key) on the red screen, then it should already have selected the "save" option, pressing Z on that will take you to the save list.

Once on the main game screen, in order to play a stage, you have to go to stage select, then stage select again, then press C to start the stage. You can scroll through the stages you've unlocked with the up and down arrow keys.

Be sure to change the language to English by pressing V on the main game screen, as that'll make the tutorial understandable. After playing through the tutorial, the controls should be clear.

Any hex editor will work, just go to each of the sections in the exe mentioned and change the 01 to 00 (false) and 75 0E into 90 90 (nop-nop). Could probably make a better one but meh, that takes time. (Also should note this was made back for V1.0, so not 100% sure if it still works, but should. Uploaded it with the hack applied to the exe + the readme)

Works fine on this, would you also happen to know the password for the OMAKE.zip? It seems like it's revealed by beating the game; and I'm guessing it probably only shows up as broken characters instead of something readable/typeable but just in case:

Here's whats in the .txt file in the OMAKE folder hinting at how to get the password for the zip:

"If you cleared all stages(without stg7) on EASY mode, password can confirm on ‘•”õ‘I‘ð‰æ–Ê/Press F Key."

If it weren't translated to English, this thread would've been purged awhile ago. Try extracting the archive in JP locale, or running it in JP locale. Usually that's where this kind of issue stems from.

For inherently Japanese games (that includes translated ones like this), you need to extract the archive with either the extracting software set to Japanese locale, or have the Japanese locate installed on your computer.

There are many guides online telling you how to do either, or both.

If you don't extract with the Japanese locale, you'll end up with gibberish like the 'text' seen in your screenshot. This is due to the fact that your extracting software won't recognize the Japanese language and will replace those characters it doesn't recognize with stuff like that.

I did the extraction and whatnot correct (my pc is set to Japanese locale + i use bandizip's feature to extract in Japanese), turns out you need to press the "v" key (at least I think that's the key I hit to change it) in the selection menu to change it to English if it isn't already in English for you, but even then it's still a bit screwed up
