thanks. this is a very good sign. I'm kinda getting burned out with the repetitive battles so knowing the story will be much better is very appreciated.

Got a sys43VM error at (what seems to be) the end of chapter 4. I see a few other people in this thread have had the same issue at various parts of the game and nobody knows how to fix it as far as I can tell. I need to go east to get the red fern but the game crashes with that error whenever I cross a certain point, no matter how vertically. Does anyone have a save for the start of chapter 5 or something? I'd hate to see all my time so far wasted.

You should be able to load a save created by staying st the inn , it autosaves when you do. I don't have a save from any of the chapters my self I used the same save slot through each of my play through's sorry can't help you there.
No dice. I can use the inn at Hermit's Retreat and then load the autosave, but it still crashes every time I try to head east. I'm stuck down here, too, so I don't have much in the way of options expect for loading an earlier save and hoping the problem won't occur again. I'll try that for now but I'm not too optimistic.
EDIT: reverting back to an earlier part of the chapter didn't work, the only thing that might work is loading the autosave at the start of this chapter but there's no way I'm going back through the entire chapter for something that probably won't work anyway. The specific error is:

If that gives any information. Unless there's some way to fix it or someone has a save at chapter 5 I'm screwed, unfortunately. Didn't have any issues with the game until now.

Hmm that does not look like a graphics error but
I have had graphic settings create errors on my system (my on board CPU, GPU can't render everything at high settings) and when that error happens it can corrupt saves sometimes such as the persistent save. Even if it does not corrupt the save though I would try if you have not already turning off show your wives(this requires a bit of graphics power to render) option and maybe switching over all settings to medium on the graphics setting page.
The only other thing I can think of is somehow your game got corrupted. The saves live in a different spot then the game you could try (not sure which install you used , there is an installer ver. and a stand alone one, I always use the stand alone one my self just easier to move and copy the game else where if I want) try unzipping the game again re-install and see if that fixes it. You should still be able to use the saves from before.
Man I feel for you it sucks in a game this long to have issues with saves. Or any error for that matter
Reinstalled and no luck on that. I think you're right that my save got corrupted. I had CE on with speedhack for a while and from what you're saying it probably was too much and corrupted it. No idea how far I'd have to go back to get a working save because I've been doing this throughout the chapter and it only crashes in one specific place. Thanks for helping, hopefully somebody has a save for this part of the game but otherwise it is what it is.

Oh yeah if you are using hacks or cheats all bets are off. Those frequently bork games imo.

I wish both games would have more gore scenes. This scene really had an impact on me when you think about the plot and how his character was open for many outcomes but no one really knew what role he would play in the end.

The door southeast of Lama, Holy Continent. The tunnel that leads into Ixtab's Settlement. There's an unexplored path in there that Platina refused to go in when the party was first there.

I fucking hate this, I just can't take it seriously and get invested in it when every 5 seconds someone mentions cookshroms, its so stupid and also censorship really ruined this one for me
evenicle 1 is in my opinion if you can stomach it a really fun and engaging VN and game but this is so fucking frustrating sometimes and it's so dumb and I hate most of the wives, and I hate the sex under necessity theme of it, and dumb names and just a fucking poorly paced slog of a game at times, there's a part where you just go through a linear dungeon, do a event walk 5 feet do a battle, walk 5 feet, do a even and you just do that for about an hour or so and its such a fucking annoying drag
I'm at the end of chapter 4 or 5 atm and the story actually turned really interesting but everything else just sucks
edit: also, aliens, why fucking add aliens to this world, ffs

I would have preferred different terminology in some things(Cockshrooms was fucking stupid as fuck) as well and certainly would have been better uncensored. I liked the over all game despite some of its flaws but I agree it is not as good as the first game was.
Agreed. And then if you try to use CE to speed things up and make it less annoying it can fuck you over because the game will corrupt your save even under the best of circumstances sometimes, let alone with the game being speedhacked. The scenes are pretty great though (some of them anyway) imo. Big ask but is there any chance you'd send your save, assuming you're at the end of chapter 4? That's where all my shit got corrupted and there's no way I'm going through the slog a second time. Even if it's chapter 5 I'd take it, nobody here has uploaded anything but saves from the start or end of the game despite multiple people having game-ruining issues in chapters 4 and 5 and so on. to me it just sounds like your tastes changed a lot since you played the first one. but yeah censorship shouldn't be a thing in the first place
lucky for you I'm a obsessives weirdo and I keep a lot of backup saves, not sure what is needed but here is my entire save folder, the last save on the first page, save no.8 is before the final cutscene of the 4th chapter, not sure exactly which files are needed so I uploaded my entire save folder
