Ok look, I'm not gonna be one of those "OMG SANBOX BLERGH" people
but, it doesn't look good for your sandbox when the 3rd action you have to do
(1:go to school
2:talk to dad about money)
is sleep to skip time TWICE

Had to go to every room and get told "I already washed" and "I am full" trying to figure out what I'm supposed to do next.
Like, I get it sandboxes are hard at first before you have enough content to fill out the world
but, that progression of events wasn't very intuitive.

Also, please consider adding a "time of day" indicator.
Had no clue it the time of day changed until I found dad in bed.
i don't think this game quailfy as a sandbox, there's one main story that you are forced to follow (minor change can happen but they are just flavor text and have mostly no impact at the moment)

in the line of the indicator for the time of day (i' even say week aslo ^^), a notification for gain and loss of money and a calendar for the bill and timed event would be a nice confort for the player

those minor details aside as they are just confort and nitpicking, i like the game and would realy like to see how it evolve later, it make me think a bit to cohabitation but in more blunt, that other game was more about being sneaky when making your move while here it's more about hammering the mind of the mc till she get bent :D ... "smooth inuendo" intended

after thought, as i was speacking about confort, a changelog or a list of current event would be nice as sometime the grindy phase are too plain and last too long, making the player (at least me) wonder if there is an event after the grind ><

if she becomes a whore she will be interested in the game, if she becomes a nun she will have no interest :KEK:
We do not enter this forum to see good pure girls to embroider.
Speak for yourself. I play games for the story, if i just want to stroke the kitty i watch porn without clicking around.
That being said, the games name is literally eves story, so i expect at least some story and since it misses a lesbian tag its all about avoiding dicks.

a sandbox is any game that has a "map" that you have to manually move through by clicking and/or a game that makes you move through rooms manually; rather than a game where you just click through dialog & make choices. Having only one route doesn't preclude it from being a sandbox, (and actually this game has 3)

Being able to tell what time of day it is without going to a specific room to see if dad is on the couch or your room is dark is way more than QoL.

i see i didn't know that the technical definition of sandbox was this open >< realy though it couldn't have those "stage block", like when you can't progress the stats or the story of a character if you don't play through the event of another, always thought sandbox had a starting point, multiple end points and no definite way to get form the first to any end :S

while i was trying to be nice and said it was only for confort you have to agree that at the moment it's still bearable to not have it and it would be a real fault only if it never made it to the final version ^^ and having people playing the wip is essentialy to have feedback about such problem

as an after thought, now i understand why so many games were tagged sandbox and i always felt that it felt strange to see some vaguely interactive or anoyingly interactive kinetic novel being called like that T_T

Well, since we are already familiar with the games of this author, in principle, a good game came out. Not very stressful, well, except for the constant skipping of time in the hope of triggering at least some kind of event, but here the author stubbornly adheres to his line of "quests". But for example, the same Mia was more sympathetic than this heroine. I won’t say that this one is poorly done, but for so many games it’s time to learn how to create really beautiful characters, and not use slightly modified templates, sorry, but as for me, it’s a shame...

the fact that the game forces me to shave it's a turn off for me, i don't know what's wrong with giving people the option to shave or not i personally think it looks nice with hair

Ben your original idea of sandbox was probably more correct. I could create a sandbox game that only contains a single room.

F95 needs to use broad definitions for their tagging otherwise there would be a million tags and it would be unhelpful.
Sandbox is another example of this. They define "sandbox" as a game with any type of free roaming. I wish they had used the term open-world as it is more applicable but as it has "free roaming" it is tagged correctly as sandbox.

However you are correct in that this is not really a sandbox game. Sandbox all about creative freedom for the player. Having different locations can allow for this freedom but only if it is programmed that way - which this game is not designed as such.

This game uses the free roaming more as a puzzle element than a sandbox element, which is fine. You simply have to go to the right location at the right times to progress the game which is clearly not sandboxing.

Sandboxed games are programmed to allow for a lot more flexibility than what we see in Eve's Story.

Going back to the start of my post where I talk about a game with just a single room, let's say an office. The sandbox elements would come in through allowing the player to choose what meetings they hold, on what times and what days and with what staff. The game is completely at the mercy of what the player chooses and the player could possibly ignore interactions with particular staff members completely if they so wish.

Think of "sandbox" like a... child's sandbox. The child can build what they want where they want and are not directed at all by the activity itself.
