Ah, sorry about that. Think I fixed it.
And thanks, took 4 in-game days. I just kept changing the time during the same day at first.

This is spelled out pretty clearly.

Install 0.55 Beta (it is standalone but there have been updates since)
Install the 0.59 update on top of it.

Follow the installation instructions on the release post and you should be golden.

If you aren't here to help please leave. I don't go to your game page and cause problems....

You don't need the Mega app. You can download the whole thing from Mega with no subscription. You just have to change your IP address when you hit the 5 GB limit. This is easy if you have a VPN (just change servers). If not, run it overnight and Mega will allow you to continue every 5 hours. Start it when you leave for work or school and it will be done the next morning. I used to do this before I got a VPN.

Ah yes, it's my fault that your game is too big and there are no alternative options to dl it in one sitting :D

And btw the other guy gave actual advice, but since I read your reply to that, I'll just don't bother with the hassle to dl it.

Im not trying to cause trouble.
For the base game dl at 12gb you need the desktop app. It will not allow dl without it, VPN or not. I don’t know if that is the same in all regions as Mega has different requirements in some places but it does not give me any other option. The 0.59 update I can Mega dl just fine.

EDIT:
Its not a regional thing its browser related. Works in Chrome

In some ways it's a blessing as it prevents those who aren't serious about the game from downloading it. Yes, the pictures and videos could be optimized better but without reducing image quality you probably wouldn't save more than 25%.

The game shouldn't even be half the size that it is with what's in it, from looking at the assets you've made no attempt whatsoever to compress or optimize anything and have even (probably unintentionally) made some assets larger than they should be, including some code, which I don't actually get how you managed to do.

I'm sorry but that's just awful quality control as a developer. There's not caring much about file size and then there's not caring at all and not bothering to make a basic effort.

Also, 25% lossless reduction is huge, seeing as how most dedicated compressors on this site usually can't even break 20% without a good chunk of quality loss, but even then that's lowballing how much lossless size reduction this game can actually pull out since I was able to do more than twice that on my own.

Telling someone to leave a thread when they're giving you legitimately good feedback and advice while accusing them of causing problems is a horrible look as a developer, so is trying to use gatekeeping as a justification to ignore glaring issues.

I'm also not sure why you're fighting people for wanting more download links either since it's a trivial request to fulfill.

Oh, and Mr. noobtrain, I shant forget to show my gratitude for your efforts, as well. I have yet to play the game but now that I can download the newest version, I'll be sure to, at the very least, give a positive review provided it is as good as I hope. If even better, I'll even provide a, sadly, modest amount to support your work as I do for other developers whose games I've enjoyed.

I hope to contribute my own works, as I learn and continue to create, in time as well. Good luck!
