QSP Evil 2 [v0.70 P4] [community project]

Due to F95Zone policies and disagreements with several moderations and staff on F95Zone, I will no longer develop on this site.

f95zone - You need to take lessons from 'The Nexus'. They had too many developers and modders leaving and so they changed their policies and gave developers and modders full admin rights to their own threads. The Nexus made this change roughly 5 years ago.

When I first posted this game, not too long ago, it seemed like every moderator on this site felt like they needed to change something on the OP (opening post), even after following the exact template for new games posted by the staff. It was comical because moderators were changing other moderators changes. After two weeks it finally settled down and I was able to adjust the formatting to my liking. 90% or more of their changes were simple formatting preferences.

Then there was the issue with game tags. The tags at the very top of the OP. Developers don't have rights to change, add, or remove them. Moderators were adding tags that did not belong. They assumed that the tags were identical to the original game and this was clearly not the case. I then had multiple players complaining in the game thread that they came here for "xyz" tag and it didn't exist. I then had to explain that I didn't have rights to edit my own game tags (looking very stupid in the process). I had to contact moderators, more than once, to remove bogus tags off of my game. And then they kept getting added back. Why I don't have rights to change tags (since I know what the game contains more than anyone) I have no idea?!

The straw that broke the camels back was when a player posted a 100% negative hate filled review of the game. The review contained 70% outright false information. The reviewer simply never played a QSP game before and expected it to be similar to the countless visual novels he played. A QSP game is the direct opposite of a visual novel in almost every way. Being generous, 70% of his review was outright false/misinformation/lies, 20% was opinion, and 10% had some merit (lack of mac/linux support and possibly the version number being too high). I reported the review continually for several days and the moderators sided with the reviewer.

The staff and moderators would rather protect someone posting a 100% negative, hate filled review, filled with false information, than keeping developers who are spending 30 hours a week donating their time and talents for free.

I won't develop on this site anymore. I'm sure I will be called all sorts of things but I don't care. I've had enough and have lost my motivation to continue. I even worked through Christmas and New Years trying to make the game better but no more.

I will take that 30 hours per week and spend more time with family, friends, hobbies, and recreation.

GandiIV it's one of the stats used for determining girl's body. code is this:

ves[num]=vesmin[num]+vesmf[num]
talia[num]=ves[num]
rib[num]=talia[num]+20+(build[num]/10)
grud[num]=rib[num]+30+tits[num]
bedra[num]=talia[num]+20+(fem[num]/4)
bic[num]=((rost[num]/10)+(mus[num]/10)+(build[num]/100)+20)-(kidves[num]/10)
tit[num]=(grud[num]-rib[num])/60

titk[num]=(grud[num]-rib[num])/10

ass[num]=(bedra[num]-talia[num])/10

tights[num]=(bedra[num]-talia[num])/10

leg[num]=(bedra[num]-talia[num])/10

so kidves is used to reduce vesmin, which in turn reduces total ves and hence talia. which has impact on other stats... I had to tinker around quite a bit with the values on a slave before it became intuitive.

And I've been in your place in the past. All I can say is to protect yourself by not investing yourself fully. Don't think your game has to be perfect immediatly, take your time. And let those "opinions" slide... Just do your best for those who enjoy.

Was surprised to see the Abandonned tag. Unsure of what privileges Game Devs have and which ones they don't. CrayonTips Congrats, you broke rules 1, 3 and 6 regarding the rules about reviewing a game. Yes they exist and have for awhile.

Review rules are sadly not enforced, have seen it many times. People with new accounts, barely any comments, leave 1 star ranting reviews filled with falsehoods and pure hate, but they're allowed to stay. I don't give any weight to them, but it's sad to see spectre1viper lose motivation over it, and I know he's not the only dev that has had trouble with the same sort of reviews that are full of misinformation and hatred, leading to devs wasting their time and agonizing over not being able to do anything to get them removed. It's very demotivating.

Funny thing is the person who left the review's postings are 3 about how they want to develop a game and 2 in another games thread about lack of diversity because it doesn't feature enough males. The game they are talking about actually has less visual content than this game as it's mostly text based, though I will give it has a completed story but for the most part it's a slave trainer. Sure there aren't many games that cater to those interested in men like Crayontip apparently is but it's in poor taste to go and shit on a free game. Also just report shit, more reports = more annoyance for the staff = harsher punishment, you never know if your report will be the straw that breaks the camel's back on this issue.

To fix bugs, I need to spend a lot of time to get to know the code very well. Figuring out girl generation alone took me about 12+ hours. I'm not going to put in that time into a game that is abandoned and won't get updates, and I'm not willing to develop it myself because I've never played the original EVIL and do not speak Russian.
I can't fix bugs if I don't know how the code works, and the code is entangled everywhere. To fix a minor bug I need to look through the entire game to see where it interacts, to decipher the variables and what they do, and only then can I figure out why something is not working.

spectre1viper Sorry to hear this, I know you have tallent and skill adapting QSP games and was looking forward to this project continuing. If some of the pointless blind grinding was improved it could be a great game and you see that potential. Its similar to how I was when I started on GL (which was impossible to understand and grindy as fuck). Even if you don´t feel you can return here I hope after a well deserved break you are able to find somewhere you can continue. Maybe the 30 hours a week is too much and part of this is burnout, look after yourself first and take care.

I think us who were pleased with the game didn't make too much noise about how good the game is so the negative of reviewes got all of the atention. Game is good and found bugs were fixed very fast, and I'm sure if he/(you) would keep developing the game it would rise to the level of SOB or GL as open world QSP games.

I mean, personally I'm not a huge fan of the setting in the game, the whole women as property and how the dom-stat works (either you punch women in the face during sex or you're going to end up getting pegged), and I was kinda sad at seeing the female PC go (found that one a lot more interesting than the male one), but that does not make it a bad adaption.
In fact since it's all perfectly stated in the OP, there shouldn't be any kind of confusion about it.

Let's hope that evil beyond the real world evil is yet to come.

Due to this post, this game will unfortunately be marked as abandoned. Hopefully at some stage spectre1viper will change his mind and continue the work he did, but we can only hope.

A. Thing is, as far as we can tell, he never asked us for anything, bar reporting the review. There was no warning, and he showed us no signs.
B. The review technically doesn't break our reviewing rules, so we won't delete it, even though the guy's a lunatic.
C. What? Doesn't it look like I'm trying? It may look like it's too late, but there's always a chance that he's seeing this. We hate losing developers, but one terrible review shouldn't make someone up and leave, especially with the amount of positive feedback he's gotten. Hopefully he can overcome burnout and get his mental health in the right place, and think about returning here.
