Was surprised to see the Abandonned tag. Unsure of what privileges Game Devs have and which ones they don't. CrayonTips Congrats, you broke rules 1, 3 and 6 regarding the rules about reviewing a game. Yes they exist and have for awhile.
I am new to posting reviews on this site, that being said I was PM'd by a moderator about breaking the rule of mentioning other games in my review. Sorry to hear that my negative review seemingly caused the world to end, but I hate to break it to you, I did play the game. I played it for over an hour. I restarted the game several times, I used the cheat menu, I was never demeaning or abrasive towards the developer. If anything I was trying to be empathetic from a developer standpoint.

I admit I've never used QSP, nor am I familiar with it. I simply said I don't understand why the game was such a large file size when it could've been an HTML game and been much smaller. Sorry your favorite game was abandoned or if I hurt anyone's feelings, but my review is my review. If you disagree with my review, you're more than welcome to write one yourself. I've seen far worse quality reviews on several games across the site with far less information and insight than I gave, but it seems people here want to just witch-hunt and blame me for the game being abandoned or something.

I broke one rule, if the review was still up perhaps we could've had a rational and level-headed discussion about your qualms with it, but since so many people were butthurt it was removed and I guess we can't. If the game was "so great" why is it abandoned? I clearly said "I understand work went into this game, but you have to understand you need to fleshout feedback and features already in the game before adding more." Is that not allowed? Am I supposed to review every game as 5-stars and impeccable?

I'm sorry a game you like was 'abandoned' or w/e, my review never insulted the developer, I purely reviewed the game at face value - and again - I did play the game. Just because you don't think I played it, doesn't mean I didn't. Did I recreate my character over and over seeing if it was different with green eyes vs blue, or an average nose instead of a pointed one? No. but I played the game for well over an hour and it was apparent there was a significant lack in quality or direction with the game.

I broke one rule, I have spoken with a moderator about this, feel free to shit-talk me or blame me for the game being shutdown or w/e, but I objectively reviewed the game which means it was my opinion based on my experience. The people getting upset with me in this thread are just blaming me for something I had no control over.

While I agree with most people here that you're a dickhead, this is not about you. You're free to be wrong, it's the mods' behaviour that the dev was frustated with.

Personally i think spectr1viper kinda overreacted, but i don't know all of his troubles. If you post anything online you should be prepared for some unfair criticism and grow a thick skin. It's just inevitable.

I really hope that either he reconsiders, or continue his work somewhere else.

I've not mentioned you specifically in this thread, and haven't blamed you, nor did spectre1viper. But claiming you were looking for "level-headed discussion" when you called people who like this game lunatics is a bit 'crazy', as you would put it, or no? Also I don't see you mentioning the fact that there were 2 straight up lies in your review, namely that it's a sequel and that it's too big for a game with some .gifs, when it is a remake that is only a month old, and has not a single .gif file in it.

You compared the filesize to rendered games, ignoring the fact that actual videos at 24frames per second are much bigger than some (animated) renders, even high resolution ones. So I don't feel it's fair if you got such basic things about the game wrong which influenced the rest of your review, but that's my 2cents. You seem to dislike real porn games, and that's fine, but it's not worthy of being a reason for a bad review.

Oh I didn't even see that...

If spectr1viper wants to have a conversation with me, I'm all ears. I don't recall ever calling the game a 'visual novel'. There was also like 7 positive reviews before the one I posted so why is this person choosing to ignore the positive reviews and blame me for the reason they are stopping development?

If you think my review is bad, try streaming online... I've had people come into my chat with death threats and saying the worst things all while I'm playing a game with a face cam. I have experience developing, you need to have thick skin if you want to be a developer. If somebody points out a way you could've done something better, then you need to take that at face value and evaluate whether it's sound advice or not. I'm sorry, but my review was not 70% false information, I'm sorry for hurting your feelings spectr, it's nothing personal at all.

Fair, perhaps claiming the people giving positive reviews 'lunatics' was rude and arrogant. I actually do enjoy real porn games, I don't want to name any because I don't want to be accused of anything, but I promise you, I have played many and enjoyed them as well.

For such a large file size, I'm surprised at how little of these gifs/webm's I saw. I never expected my review to cause such an upset, I simply played the game for as long as I could tolerate and when I got to the point of frustration I simply vented my feelings in my review.

You are right, I shouldn't have called other people 'lunatics' I apologize, but to be honest I left my review in frustration and just moved on. I never expected my review to be the sole reason the developer quit developing.

I browse this site using the "Latest Updates" tab, I had no idea that this game was a remake and furthermore what am I supposed to think when I see "Version 1.0". Anyone familiar with developing knows that this means it's the complete and whole product as it was meant to be. I left my review with none of this knowledge and moved on. I logged on today to see several notifications that I seemingly single-handedly stopped development for this game.

Edit: When Spectr said "the straw that broke the camel's back was a hate-filled review" I think we know what this person meant, let's be honest. I was probably the only person who left a negative review.

Developer did not stop because of your review, as I pointed out earlier. He stopped because disagreements with moderator actions (earlier actions played a part too, as explained by him). As for the versioning, he agrees with you, as he mentioned. But that alone is not worth 1 star review, you could have simply posted a comment, the developer has been insanely receptive to criticisms posted in this thread, and had you posted it there, he would likely have changed it for the next version.

And I don't believe people being shitty to your on your stream is a reason to be shitty to other people. That being said, obviously having a thicker skin is better, but I doubt spectre1viper quit solely because of this. In any case, what's done is done, I just hope he comes back because there's a lot of people that were very interested in this 1-month old remake that contains more gameplay than most games on this site(if you know how to get to it).

In my own save, I've played for about 12 hours, and I've only explored the gang system, and right now starting on the maid content. So I don't think it's fair to say it's lacking in content. EDIT: As to your edit, if you read closer, his problem was with the review being allowed to stay, despite breaking at the very least 1 rule, and being severely misinformed on the aspects I mentioned above, and arguable on many others.

EDIT2: Thought it was good to mention, when you said it lacks direction, I disagree. It's pretty clear the objective in the game is to gain as much money and power as possible. AS you mentioned, by doing part-time job alone, this is impossible. But that's by design. Do you see a part-time gardener become a millionaire in real-life? To make the real money, you need to partake in illegal activities, be it whoring or running a gang. Or if you want to stay legit, you can become a professional boxer. And other legal ways were in the working, as well.

Due to F95Zone policies and disagreements with several moderations and staff on F95Zone, I will no longer develop on this site.

f95zone

The straw that broke the camels back was when a player posted a 100% negative hate filled review of the game. The review contained 70% outright false information. The reviewer simply never played a QSP game before and expected it to be similar to the countless visual novels he played. A QSP game is the direct opposite of a visual novel in almost every way. Being generous, 70% of his review was outright false/misinformation/lies, 20% was opinion, and 10% had some merit (lack of mac/linux support and possibly the version number being too high). I reported the review continually for several days and the moderators sided with the reviewer.

The staff and moderators would rather protect someone posting a 100% negative, hate filled review, filled with false information, than keeping developers who are spending 30 hours a week donating their time and talents for free.

I won't develop on this site anymore. I'm sure I will be called all sorts of things but I don't care. I've had enough and have lost my motivation to continue. I even worked through Christmas and New Years trying to make the game better but no more.

I will take that 30 hours per week and spend more time with family, friends, hobbies, and recreation.

Thank you to all those who have supported me and all of my projects on this site! You are the best!
While I agree it seems like my review isn't the sole reason he stopped developing, it's hard to argue that he didn't explicitly state that my review was at least a major factor behind his departure.

I'm happy you're enjoying the game, but the point of reviews is to leave your personal opinion and the reasons why. It's okay that you like the game and want to spend 12 hours playing it, I don't and I explained why. If you disagree, you can leave your own review. This is why there are multiple critics that review multiple mediums. Different reviewers like different things. I apologize for having no background behind the story of this game, but you have to understand there are a lot of people that probably clicked on the game with no background just like me and simply moved on.

Edit: Again, definitely never mentioned visual novels. I brought up one game by name to criticize the large file size, I never compared the game's content other than to question why the file size was so large.

I also don't understand how I was 'shitty' to him in any way??

Is the important part in his statement, in my opinion, especially since he said he quit over differences in opinion with site moderators. In my opinion, when leaving a review, you need to be better informed than someone that just clicked on it, and moved on, since your review will stick around forever, even if the game gets a thousand updates, 10 years later, your review will still be there.

Anyway, there won't come any good of posting to this thread, since it doesn't look like the developer is coming back.

EDIT: To your edit, you were shitty to him because you called people who like this game lunatics, and because you said you were rating it as 1 star to drag down the game's average. That's pretty shitty in my book. As for visual-novels, I never brought them up, but I believe spectre1viper did because you prefer a more straightforward storyline with clear objectives over a sandbox game.

Well they obviously wouldn't rather do that, seeing as my review has been taken down, but whatevs.

Any review you look up on any video game that has been released is going to "be there forever". When everyone praised Black Ops 4 for not having microtransactions, they never changed their reviews after Activision added them back in. Yes, I shouldn't have called other reviewers 'lunatics', but in my opinion the game didn't deserve anything other than 1-star. I suppose next time I will just leave 1-star and not address the rating in any way. Before my review was taken down, there were several people that liked it, which obviously means it resonated with some people.

I don't understand why the developer expected anyone to give him anything for his 'free 30 hours of work a week'. There's people who develop non-porn games for months or years that never see a penny but they do it because they enjoy it. Like you say though, it's whatever - sorry that I hurt somebody's feelings, but that's life. You can't please everyone and everything can't be the way you want it to be. Blaming the site, moderators, and reviews for not 'respecting your free work' is childish and hopefully he finds some other way to monetize his work with the cult following he's amassed.

Oh well, onto other games...

You really can´t help yourself can you. Even after you have calmed down you still have to say how other places have bad reviews and call spectre1viper childish. Maybe its everyone else´s opinion that you need to grow up because the rest of us are over 18.

You specifically said you were posting a 1-star review to drag the average down even though you felt the game was a 2-star game, you said QSP didn´t run on Linux and Mac when it has compatible versions (not included with this game that was nice enough to package the Windows version for you) and you are now saying you only played the game for an hour!

As for the game size that has nothing to do with the engine used, the shear number of mp4s included is the issue here. I would personally have limited them in length and variety but that´s not the point an HTML version would be almost exactly the same size.

This all adds up to one real issue, why the fuck didn´t you ask anything in the thread here? People could and would have answered you and you wouldn´t have left a lie filled pool of bile in place of a review. I guess that if everyone seems to be a lunatic then its probably not them but yourself.

I understand you're upset, but if people are going to say that I was making 'false claims' in my review, let's get it straight that I never said the game deserved anything other than one star. Without the review to reference, anyone can make up anything about what I said.

It's not 'everyone else's opinion' opinion that I need to 'grow up' lol - as I said previously, my review had several likes which obviously meant several people agreed with me to some extent.

My review was somewhere around 5 paragraphs, are you seriously going to boil it down to "I gave it 1 star because of no Mac/Linux support"?

I understand you're upset, but I have no idea what you're getting at in your post. There was nothing in the game that I needed clarified. I didn't feel like clicking the same prompt 5,000 times to earn 8$ for a 5000$ car. I get that you're a fan of the game, but you're misquoting me and falsifying what I said in my review.

I´m not a fan of the game, I only played it for a couple of hours and gave up.

I´m also not upset, I just think you´ve been a dick and now you´re trying badly to cover for yourself.

I haven´t mis-quoted you, I haven´t used your exact language but the gist of it is true.

I didn´t boil anything down, you have linked 2 parts of a list and made out that I was suggesting something I was not.

Also, 5,000 x 8 = 40,000 you´re a little off on that one.

All in all I give your comment 1-star. Its probably worth 2 but I want to drag the average down.

You don't really come across as someone who isn't a fan of the game so pardon my mislabeling. Outside of that, you've called me a dick and 'corrected my math' as if the point was me trying to teach mathematics and not the monotony of the game. It's apparent you're bitter over something and your arguments are shallow at best. Funny that you try to insult my age, yet you're acting like you just turned 18 and finally earned your 'club' card or something.

I invite spectr to have a conversation with me about my review/the game, but I am not in the mood to entertain moronic strawman arguments. "Give my comment a 1-star review"
ono my felings is hert!

lol please...

Due to F95Zone policies and disagreements with several moderations and staff on F95Zone, I will no longer develop on this site.

f95zone - You need to take lessons from 'The Nexus'. They had too many developers and modders leaving and so they changed their policies and gave developers and modders full admin rights to their own threads. The Nexus made this change roughly 5 years ago.

When I first posted this game, not too long ago, it seemed like every moderator on this site felt like they needed to change something on the OP (opening post), even after following the exact template for new games posted by the staff. It was comical because moderators were changing other moderators changes. After two weeks it finally settled down and I was able to adjust the formatting to my liking. 90% or more of their changes were simple formatting preferences.

Then there was the issue with game tags. The tags at the very top of the OP. Developers don't have rights to change, add, or remove them. Moderators were adding tags that did not belong. They assumed that the tags were identical to the original game and this was clearly not the case. I then had multiple players complaining in the game thread that they came here for "xyz" tag and it didn't exist. I then had to explain that I didn't have rights to edit my own game tags (looking very stupid in the process). I had to contact moderators, more than once, to remove bogus tags off of my game. And then they kept getting added back. Why I don't have rights to change tags (since I know what the game contains more than anyone) I have no idea?!

Lads, do try and keep the argument outta here. Take it to PM's if ye want to continue.
I think having an open debate is not a bad thing.
I don't remember the full review of CrayonTips but I do remember that it could have been avoided by a simple thing: having a warning message on the 1st post, saying it's a QSP-game, which can be grindy because it's mechanic-based and intended to be like so.

However, some things argued here are what CrayonTips actually said, which we can't prove because the review doesn't exist anymore. Although, in the open debate, we read that CrayonTips didn't have the knowledge that it was a remake and that 1.0 version should be the complete one.
1/ The game doesn't have the 'complete' tag
2/ I saw a number of games having a similar versioning system, also opening the changelog spoiler shows it only has 3 versions updated...
3/ It's clearly stated in the presentation post that it's inspired by an original game with the same name, never it is said it's a sequel.

We can also read that he doesn't have time to play the game. Yeah, well, how can you review a game without playing anything else than the intro?

Even when we can hear the arguments (that are often purely personal but it's normal), rating only 1-star because the game doesn't live up to your expectations of a porn game is a bit much. Especially when you're not even taking 5 minutes to read the full presentation post, clicking a few spoilers and running quickly through other reviews/comments on the thread.

I've played a lot of games, I've written articles on forums and news sites, and yet I've probably reviewed 4 or 5 games in my whole gaming life.
I think we're not asking for professional review work on F95, but taking a few minutes to read a presentation post and posting a comment as to why is the file so heavy/the game so grindy/the mechanics so hard BEFORE reviewing the game is a must, imho.

Also, spectr1viper said it was the straw that broke camel's back, there were other reasons than just a review. Even if obviously the review in itself touched him and, well, devs should be prepared for harch criticism and some hate, staff of a site like F95Zone should be comprehensive. Also, after nearly 8 years of moderating forums and gaming websites, I've never had an issue with staff going over others without being clear about it, talking between themselves to determine which was the best situation and never having a similar case in the future. THIS, to me, is a bit much, but hey, I like the community here and you guys are free to rule how you want, I won't question that (maybe I'd post a ticket about it though) but it's not the first time I've seen similar situations with devs leaving because of disagreements with the staff, maybe there's something to be discussed here, and involving the community might not be a bad idea.

CrayonTips' review is not the issue here, a whole bunch of events are. And we don't know his personnal life, he might just have lived something uncool lately. Now, we can only hope he comes back, here would be nice, somewhere else would be fine if it suits him better, or that someone elses takes on developing the game but I don't think that's gonna happen soon.

Please excuse my English, I'm french and writing this at 4am. But being french should be enough of an excuse to have a bad English ;)

How do you protect the women in the brothel? I have my gang protecting the street and gloryhole ones no problem. But every day the brothel girls are attacked by multiple clients, each woman is been attacked more than once as well which is just draining money. I can't hire the mercenaries, Mabuta is dead and the option to hire security isn't on the whore screen anymore. Really confused as what I'm supposed to do. I'm sure in another save the gang protected the brothel girls.

Edit: And the game is abandoned great :(
The girl you appoint head of your brothel has to have a high domination, that way they take care of troublemakers themselves

1) The summary of the game says "Much of the inspiration for this game comes from the original game EVIL with similar game mechanics and storylines." - It says nothing about it being a rehashed version of the same game.
2) Software versioning doesn't work like that 1.0 means it's a major release. The version I played (1.1) no longer had the 'Beta' tag
3) How can you possibly argue it's not a sequel when the name has a 2 next to it? If you went to see "[Title] 2" would you expect anything other than a continuation of the story?

I did have time to play the game - I didn't like it. If the same amount of people ragging on me reviewed the game themselves, maybe spectre1 wouldn't have taken my review so harshly. What exactly did I miss in the OP that would've helped me appreciate this game more? I've played many games - Ren'Py VNs, HTML (including one of the highest rated games on this site which is a real porn game), Flash, Unity, Java, RPGM, etc. - I've never created a character in those games and wondered "why does it matter what shape my nose is?", "Why is there 10 exercises at the gym, but only one gives me feedback on gaining skills?", "Where are my skills?", "Why does this game reward me so poorly for doing jobs (being a bouncer, working at the grocery store, working as a taxi driver)", "Why are there people waiting to jump me everywhere even when I buy a gun?".

I don't mean to continue the arguing, but bashing me over and over because you didn't like my review isn't fair. Here is a word-for-word review that is on this thread right now
"

The game over all is amaing.
The interface needs just a little more work.
Yea the direction the game is going brings me joy.
But as a sick fuck such as my self i'd like to see the ability to interact with the family of your whores example if she has a 20 yo daughter you can corrupt her and get some nasty 3 somes etc.
"

There's a reason there's a '1-star' option when reviewing something, because sometimes people feel like games deserve it. There's a multitude of other games that deserve 4/5 stars in my book, but I just haven't reviewed them yet because:
a) they are already popular and have a ton of reviews
or
b) I didn't play the game enough to feel like writing out a verbose review.

Again, if half the people hating on me left a review, maybe the 1-star review would've landed softer. The only reason anyone is even paying attention to my review is because the developer mentioned it himself. I never expected this to happen, I didn't want this to happen, and yet my first interaction with the community here is entirely negative because the developer couldn't take a harsh review. I apologize for calling people 'lunatics', but I think we can agree there have been far meaner/harsher things said online with no recourse at all.

If you like the game, leave a review - partially blaming me for my opinion isn't going to bring spectre back, maybe a plethora of positive reviews will though.

I don't know enough about game design to know if this would be easy or plausible in QSP, but perhaps the repetitive girls that don't resemble their descriptions could be replaced with girl packs designed by individual users like in Whoremaster and Brothel King? That way the descriptions would be more accurate, there would be more variety of girls, and the developer's hopefully non permanent hiatus wouldn't be as big of a problem since anyone could add additional girls to the game while leaving the current structure intact.

I remember the game developer mentioning a while ago that the reason he didn't add more variety of girls was because of the time it would take him to do it, but if random users were adding girls instead presumably that problem wouldn't exist.

I'm not bashing on you but rather pointing out things.
1) The OP did say that much is similar to EVIL but you should also know that you never assume a game will play exactly like and/or be exactly the same as the previous game. Yes he could have put more details on the OP about what has exactly changed between versions, but 11 posts down he did list some of the primary changes in the game.
2) True but not everyone follows standard versioning.
3) It is without a doubt easy to argue that a game with a "2" at the end will be nothing like the prequel and/or have nothing to do with its story. The AAA industry does this all the damn time. For example take Outlast 2, it does nothing to continue the story of Outlast as it is based around something else entirely (there maybe if there is an Outlast 3 to connect all 3 stories together). It doesn't even have to be a 2, take Fallout 3 and 4 they don't continue the same story but only a similar environment and game play feel.

If what you quoted to be your word for word review, it is 90% positive information. It sounds very positive so giving it a 1 star without giving any feedback as to why makes it look like your doing it out of spite or just because. Positive feedback with no constructive feedback and a zero or the minimum rating sends mixed messages.
Given what you also typed out above your quoted review makes it very obvious you had a very negative reaction to the game, but decided not to at all convey your problems with the game outside of the the broadest of broad suggestions in a positive review that you gave 1 star and no constructive feedback.
Do you see the problem here?

Yes spectre's reaction to a 1 star review and trying to have it removed makes it look really bad, however there is a small feeling i'm getting that there was more to the review than majority of us actually know. spectre could also be wanting a review removed if it is blatant hate, needlessly offensive, or hate speech. Generally though an individual who explosively reacts to a negative review shouldn't be exposing themselves to countless chances for them to receive negative feedback on.

For someone who reviews, you should know that giving a 1 star will immediately give a red flag to a dev. However with a 1 star review there is and should be feedback as to why, yet you didn't give any explanation as to why and mostly left positive feedback. Yes this only blew up because spectre called you out on your review, but this wouldn't have happened if you just gave your real thoughts.
