Stay Online has that exact scenario happen (for the Cheating path).

But it might not be the best example, as the MC just ignores the cheating and literally doesn't make a single comment on it.
Yes, there are several NTR games with the kind of MC who doesn’t know or realize anything, and only at the end gets the stab-in-the-back/humiliating revelation from his girlfriend. So, the ending hits hard, but throughout the game, it’s the player who gets tense, not the MC haha. I’ve only seen older games dare to hit the MC hard all the way through the story, and they’re some of the most hated ones (because it hurts xD).

It hurts for them because so many say they identify with the main character. I've never understood that, I never identify with the MC in games like this. I see myself as more of a voyeur watching peoples lives play out in front of me. Besides who would want to identify with the MC in games like this, they're often totally clueless to an obvious situation.

I agree with you, but it can happen to me (and I believe to many others too) to involuntarily identify with the MC of the moment just because we are the ones "driving" him and allowing him to make certain choices: it's inevitable, but it's obvious that I would NEVER want to be in the protagonist's shoes.

To some extent I agree, some games do immerse you in the identity of the MC. But to be honest I think it's only a very small fraction

It happened to me personally with all Dimajio games so far... and frankly, for the way it always ends for the protagonist, is not pleasant!!

I struggled to identify with many MCs in these games, particularly those with cheating or shared FMCs, mostly due to either the MC's ignorance, cowardice, naivety, or flawed decision-making.

I do, haha. I mean, the MC in games like these doesn’t represent me at all in real life... but the fun part is forgetting yourself for a moment and putting yourself in their shoes. Just like people watch horror movies to get scared or drama films to cry, these games should be taken the same way: to feel something you wouldn’t want to feel in real life. The problem isn’t whether you identify with the MC or not, the problem is that some people can’t handle the feeling of a betrayal like that. Softies.

Well, take advantage of the fact that it's a game. Step into the protagonist's shoes and feel it. In a game, you're safe, nothing’s gonna hurt you when it’s over.

Identifying with the MC doesn’t mean they have to share your personality, it means you have to pretend to be someone else. Just like when you play GTA San Andreas, you’re CJ, but at the same time, you’re not. You know he makes stupid decisions, and if you were in his place, you’d do it completely differently. I must be one of the few masochists who really step into the protagonist’s shoes and suffer through it personally (that’s why I don’t like when they change to her POV)... yeah, it’s an ugly feeling and yet so satisfying :sneaky:

Hey Everyone — unfortunately, I have some bad news, which I’ll try to soften a bit at the end.

Due to certain personal issues and increased risks for me associated with working on games of this genre, I have to shut down my Patreon page and step offline. I’ve thought about this for a long time — creating this content truly brings me joy — but I made this decision so I can sleep easier at night. I sincerely hope for your understanding.

The good news: I will continue working on the project I’ve started. I don’t like leaving things half-finished, and I value your support. I’ll just be posting updates, probably, on the F95 page — the same place where I repeatedly asked you not to repost my updates ahead of time, but you did :)

Thank you for supporting me all these years and believing in me. This has been an interesting journey — I’ve tried to hit deadlines, be honest with you, keep learning, and improve the quality of my work. That said, it’s also been very exhausting and time-consuming, full of stress and sleepless nights. Working with a team instead of solo would probably be much easier.

I already stopped billing and payouts few days ago, and in a couple of days I’ll completely shut down this page. Maybe in the future I’ll come back and start fresh if circumstances change. But for now, this is the reality. Thank you for understanding!

I am curious if he only has problems with patreon or if his family catched him working on that games...:)
