I haven't played it yet but I did ctrl skip through it yeah it does seem like a different game from what little I did see. However I would still call it sequel because it's the same 2 main characters and to me a sequel can just be a different story / adventure doesn't need to involve all the character from the previous game.

Because it’s not a sequel. It just happens 6 years later.

None of your decisions from the first game matter in the slightest.

If the dev released that exact game without Peter & Julia and didn’t call it PE2, I might’ve liked the game.

But don’t you dare try to defend the “sequel” part of the game - arguably the biggest draw of the whole project to begin with.
The biggest draw is Julia and that it is a share, NTR game... Most are just happy to see Julia get into action again.

that's my biggest reasons for being excited about I don't expect much in terms of quality of the game / story especially in the NTR / sharing genre. Especially with how his games ends to soon for my taste I am prepared to be a bit disappointed too when it ends.

Ihope he will keep the quality up. He has been in all his games. Now, with this announcement, Not sure how many releases are planned ?? Yes I too will be sad to see him go.... It also seems that Kingb has left the building.. Sad day to loose both.

No.

It's not a sequel because nothing that happens in the first game matters or influences events in the 2nd game.
There are a few references, but they are dismissed 5 seconds later and are inconsequential to what happens in the "sequel".

The game as it stands is fine - but the fact is, SadPepper used the "sequel" marketing falsely here.

eh gonna have to agree to disagree none of that matters to me to classify it as a sequel. Just needs the same 2 main characters doesn't matter to me if choices matter or not. Only thing that would matter to me is if there is no forced canon choices made by the dev and the game acts like PE never existed and it's just a different game with the skin of the main cast. ( I can't say for sure or not for me until I do play it im giving it 1 or 2 more updates before I check it out personally)

I can't speak for your incredibly low bar of what a sequel inherently entails, but we clearly can't discuss this as adults.

No, you are simply saying you consider PE2 a "sequel" only because it has more of Julia and Peter.

That is no argument at all, when a sequel inherently builds on what came before.

Do you think the story of GoT wouldn't be ANY different if the Dance of Dragons (depicted in series House of the Dragon) didn't happen first??
I said that because I do think it's possible to have a sequel that has nothing to do with game 1 as long as the characters that are in Game 2 from Game 1 act and behave the same way and it acknowledges game 1 did happen ( forced or non forced choices) they just are on a different adventure / story.

So to me it feels like you missed the part where I said IF there is no canon choices forced by the dev and it acts like the PE1 didn't exist then it wouldn't be a sequel but a brand new game with the skin of the main cast. Maybe I didn't word it well enough.

I just don't think player choices needs to matter for something to be a sequel but it does need have some forced events be canon and act like some of those things happened. Either by the characters mentioning some events or seeing some of the things mentioned in lore. Even Characters acting the same way they did towards old characters from game 1 even if it they aren't in game 2 very much and have nothing to do with game 2 would count for me.

That's why I said initially we gonna have to agree to disagree cause we just have a different concept of what a sequel means to each of us from the sounds of things

Frankly, it doesn't matter whether people want to call it a sequel or not, it's a fucking stupid minute detail to build an argument on the merits of the game over. There's no point getting angry over people calling it a sequel, you can like the game or not, based on the game. It doesn't matter whether or not you consider "sequel" to be an appropriate word to describe it, that doesn't change the quality of the game, or lack thereof.

Not sure why this would not be called a sequel. It has the main characters. THe Baby is born where she was pregnant in the last game. For now it has Cornell and his Mother. Cornell is asking to lie again for the adventure. Julia is feeling wild again... wants to explore those old feelings.

Its factual relation to PE1 or lack thereof is an important factor in determining that quality. And "sequel" is just a term for that. (see the discussion of that point over there)
