they look like generic weapons that were made to look as weird as possible, not that I really care tbh, if they manage to implement good gameplay I won't give a shit about the assets...though I doubt they will make a good game.
Though they could explain this with "in this day and age, people couldn't give less of a shit about designing weapons because they were too busy fucking alien insects" and I would happily believe it as long as they gave me more scenes XD
FIrst I thought it was going to be XCOM like. Then they said it will be like a card game. This looks like they are trying to be shooter with weapon modding system. What game genre(s) are they going for?

None, they will milk tf out of this, enforcing as much drm as possible and then pulling the plug once it loses relevance or once it becomes too obvious that there will be no further development.
Hey don't blame the dev team dude. Devs do what the client asks, even if the client wants a dick-chopper made out of rubber and to market it as a sextoy

Guys I need help. So I open the game with the FallenDollLauncher.exe and it opens. The screen comes and a blue bar starts to fill the blank. But after a short period of time game crashes. What should I do?

I would keep in mind, given the history of this particular game, that there is zero evidence that there is a "client."
Even if there is, which is quite doubtful, this would suggest that Helius took an astounding amount of money from Patreon supporters over a period spanning almost a decade and this still wasn't sufficient to put the current tech demo together. If true Helius then ceded almost complete control to a third party, presumably for further money, and is still just pumping out concept art.
Neither explanation paints the dev(s) in a particularly good light. Honestly with the progress made I'm not entirely convinced this isn't just a one man show with some 3d artists on contract to periodically churn out concept art and (admittedly high quality) models to keep the Patreon subs rolling.

That just looks like a re texture of those B&T pdw for glocks from Resident Evil given some sort of breaching attachment/glass breaker, foregrip magwell and a peq/laser.
