See, steam, purchasing it legit, and LITERALY THE ENTIRITY OF THE TECHNICAL CONTENT of Honey Select 2 is entirely OPTIONAL and there's a really nice fucking (literaly) game behind that. No grind, no quests, no story, not online, no bullshit, just fucking.

Sigh. The funiest shit is, we shit on Illusion's products despite the fact that most of us don't even paid to have them and pirate them via all kind of pirate website. However we somehow throw massive amount of money at an empty patreon promises that not even guarantee to release, or straight-up lied up us, and then still fiercely defend them.

You are twisting it. Illusion games are a paid product, product that exists and can be judged. Supporting patreon projects is like gambling, you wager the risk vs reward vs your wallet capacity. Some will defend it as if defending investment. As the product doesn't exist it will often have ideal form in one mind and people defend it as if defending their dreams.

and we care about online gatcha because most of the dev time will go into irrelevant bullshit and I don't know...because the game runs 1000 times worse in harem online than it does in the offline gallery??? That being one of the reasons...lmao

I'm not going to criticize development time, but man, this shit is horrifically mismanaged. And the outcome doesn't even sound like a good idea. A game with an animation gacha? Only seems like it was developed to be some form of DRM.

If it wasn't clear when I'm talking about HS2 not being alternative to FD, I'm talking from average Helius patron perspective. When i said that Studio Neo is the selling point it was from perspective of someone that is into HS2.
For me personally Studio neo has been a struggle, i would like to get into it but the amount effort required puts me of. I've told myself long time ago that when Illusion will make a proper western release (with studio neo) i will buy it because that piece of software is worth it. I guess I'm also hoping that will give me the motivation to learn it.
I know why people care about gacha, It is the excuse you made for Illusion what i have problem with. But i guess you are right from a pirate perspective - worse product to be pirated is impactful but a price tag is not. Unless gacha will in the end turn into better product - i mean gacha needs a continuous flow of of new content/animations to keep people spending.
9 months i think. The official reason is rebuilding the game so it doesn't run like shit, it may be just BS or it may be legit. We should know soon enough unless he comes with new excuse.

When/if this game is complete, we will be able to play a cracked version like we are doing now? Or the "complete" version always online will be harder to pirate/Crack?

Oh lol, sure, Illusion's products are paid product, but who actually paid for them???, only a handful of people (except the Japanese) and most of us here just pirate them via those people who paid for Illusion's products and upload them online. So...........sure, existing product can be judged, but the real amused thing is, people judged the product that they not actually paid for but fiercely defend an imaginary product

At this point, we don't know, Helius could change his business model anytime he want, as long as he has money come to him
Anyway, this is my honest opinion, dev like Eromancer and Helius, i don't think they actually a scammer when they first develop their game, they do dream about the kind of game they currently doing like us, however time went on and reality slapped their face and they realize that it is nothing without money thus they deliberately dragging their project to milk money from it. That is my cent, they care capable developers, and i'm sure they can finish their product, but choose not do so

And yea Illusion is pretty meeeeehhh overall but at least they managed to give me a way to create animations that I like.
considering they managed to crack 0.4.9 in just a few days (if I remember right), I think they will crack their other releases as well, but it will probably take much more time depending on how they code their networking...Hope the network dev leaves us a nice backdoor or something XD
