Kinda the trick innit? If you fade into obscurity, people forget that they've pledged.
Meanwhile you get teams like Helius who constantly surround themselves with controversy and draw attention to themselves; reminding patrons that they're pledged and maybe they should reconsider.

Their whole patreon is a prime example of sunk cost fallacy and stockholm syndrome combined. Maybe if we pledge a bit more they'll finally finish the game, right?

Man, you can say stuff about Scamlius, but he really knows how to make female models. I guess that patreon members fall off really got his creativity going.Lets hope it dips a bit more so we get an actual release of the game.
Well he knows how to pay artists for high quality assets. As you say that's the one bit he doesn't skimp on but this is only because these screenshots and videos are what bring in the new
Developing a competent gameplay loop, storyline or hell even his gacha and battlepass systems... that's a different thing entirely. At this point he's basically just dumping character models and recycled animations into an empty shell. It's basically an illusion title with less animations, models, no mod support, DRM and (somehow) less gameplay/story.

Let me rephrase, Scamlius makes great models/animations compared to other porn games.Everything else is pretty much shit.
