I disagree with "just wastes your time as you hurry to get to the good stuff". Ideally, I like adult games to have some gameplay. IMHO story is not that important, but some kind of 'fun' gameplay that you do in order to get to the 'good stuff', is. Heck, even some form of grinding can be fun. I like to unlock things in games like these, gives you something to do and makes it feel like a reward for your work. It's also an easy way for a game to have more (re)play value. Or the game could be some sort of 'sex sim', and that would be enough for the gameplay (with unlockables haha).

For terrible games that just have decent or good sex content, an "unlock all" code is the way to go. But for games that are kind of fun to play, having everything unlocked from the start is like playing that brand new game you've been looking forward to with all the cheats enabled.

But I don't agree with the story bit. Good story and dialogues are very impotant because they add context to the sexy bits. This is where a sexy picture of a girl in a game becomes a character and this makes everything more erotic. You can have the same picture in the gallery and then in a game with story, dialogues and voices and it will completely different experience.

But games that get to "the point" fast are not bad too. Everybody has different needs. I prefer corruption rpgs with good story, even if they take an hour or more to get to "the good stuff" but from time to time I enjoy some action, simulation or a platformer which gives you content right away.

Back to topic - let's not judge before we can see the gameplay. Although, I'm wondering how they are planning to couple interactive, 3D animations with a strategy card game... Personally, I think that exploration game with shooter elements would suit this project better. If they wanted it turn-based then maybe something like the new XCOM would fit (but with enemies doing sex attacks because we all know that aliens and fantasy creatures are always horny af and will fuck females even mid-combat).

I'm expecting them to keep the gameplay and sex animations more or less separate. What I mean by that is that you wouldn't encounter the sex animations during gameplay, but rather as a reward or as a consequence of the story or your actions. I mostly think this because what we have now is just in one place. I hope I'm wrong, though, because I like it better when the sex can happen during gameplay.

VR version is great, but even my Sapphire 5700XT isn't enough to maintain stable 80fps (oculus refresh rate). Even when I downgrade the graphics from default 5 to 3, it still have some performance issues in many scenes.

The game looks acceptable at the lowest settings, but without a dedicated GPU, you're going to run into performance issue on that laptop. I just watched Hentai Historian review of this game and you can get a general idea how it'll look for most people. It's actually a funny video, as long as you can look pass the female robotic voice over.

Well, a TPS indeed is good in its own way, but what I'm actually dreaming of is a MetroidVania-ish. At least a tower-defense will do as well.

I’m guessing something on the lines of RTS like everyone else said with tiles and the X-Com style (my bad if that’s wrong — never played X-Com). I was also thinking that it could be a turn-based RPG like Persona or something. Maybe a ‘Run’ option like Pokémon for a change of gameplay pace.

The main X-Com titles, without the spin-offs are not RTSs, they're turn-based strategy games. Either way the comparison is still valid.
I also envision it in the same vein as X-Com. As an Isometric grid-based turn-based strategy game. Main difference are.
Instead of the normal grid, Operation lovecraft uses a hexagonal one like the old Heroes of Might and Magic games.
The card based system will either have to replace the active skills/abilities of the characters, or the equipment system, so you basically use cards as gear and passives.

I'm actually a sucker for X-Com like games, so if this is similar and turns out good, It might give me a reason to play even without the porn. (Still the porn is a huge selling point.)

A big thing that I would want in this game as well would be modding support. It’s probably never going to happen but I would definitely work on model swaps with characters like D.Va & Lara Croft. Shit would be hot as hell.

Yes, we need a plan to convince them to add in mod support, but we need good compelling propositions for them to consider it. They might not consider it now or anytime soon, as it can very well complicate their entire development process. So once they've successful achieve their desire goal, we can probably ask them to expand it with community help in the way of mod support. Mod support will greatly increase the life-span of a game/product.

v0.26 will be dropping in this weekend. I'm expecting Sunday. The new area revealed will be the Weapon Workshop area. You get a view of this area at random, when you start up the game or go back to the main title menu screen.

I don't think anyone here would want to rush the gameplay instead of more scenes. In fact, I would be suprised if most of us weren't here for the scenes themselves. In the same vein their polls show the same results.
It's more like a far off goal that gets slowly implemented over time. This is only guessing on my part, but I think as a developer they want it to be a complete package at the end and not just a moving wax museum.

Not disagreeing, but do you think the fact that that's all the game is has anything to do with it? If all you're publishing is an animation viewer, then you're going to attract the crowd that wants that kinda stuff.

Warning! Wall of text incoming. This is mostly conjecture/speculation on my part mixed with what knowledge I got from my MSc, so I might be pulling a lot of this out of my ass. I also discuss the fetish disparity in game under the same light.

Strap yourself in, this is going to be a doozy.

It is the laws of supply and demand, so yes it does have a huge influence on the supporters/interest they recieve, especially since the original Fallen Doll was always supposed to be a glorified scene viewer. The management between the days, would have constituted for the bare minimum of a game, not much else.

I believe we can actually see this effect you mention on their fetish selection as well, going from Fallen Doll to Operation Lovecraft (I'll refer to them respectively as FD and OL from now on.). The original was never meant to be almost entirely vanilla, but I'm guessing engine limitations, lesser budget and such kept them from branching to more depraved stuff. (Or maybe they were just comfortable with how things were going. Less stress I guess.) They stopped working on the original exactly after they started working on heavier fetishes, right after adding the lab. (On a side note: Not in the beginning, but after a while I also think they mostly made the original as a proof of concept.) But, and that's a huge ass But, when they started working on the original, and even while they were producing it, they did communicate the willingness and even eagerness to add a lot more hardcore stuff to the game. (One of them does have a bestiality fetish according to them, so they might have a pretty wide fetish spectrum.)

So the marketing and promises basically worked as bait for those that enjoy the spicier side of life, and they were patiently waiting for their turn to be satisfied, this is why a lot more hardcore suff is taking over the polls right now for OL. Although you might be wondering, why does the dreamer have so much content then? Well basically they took way too long to get anywhere with FD and it being filled with mostly softcore and vanilla stuff (I guess the stockade, isn't so soft, but I think you catch my drift.) it lured in the crowd that gets off to the simple pleasures of life.

So right now the game has a supporting base that's very divided in their fetish preferences, but they mostly agree that scenes come first and foremost before gameplay.

My prediction is that over time the spicier people will overtake the simple pleasures people, because of a few things.
- They are happy to get catered to no matter how little content they get, since fetishes like these in this kind of quality are rare, even if it comes with a healthy side serving of boring vanilla. On the other hand the vanilla loving folk are repulsed, by the mere fact that a dog like alien could be touching their girls. (Let's not even get into the topic of the horse and hog. ) So I believe they are going to get slowly filtered out.
- Since this stuff is so rare they are also willing to pay a lot more for it. In stark contrast to this rarity, you can find very well done vanilla stuff all over the internet, OL isn't the only one.
- The whole Lovecraft lore and mythos is a lot more appealing to the more deranged individual like myself, and less to those on the side of normalcy. (At least I think that's the case. Most people I talk to have no clue who Lovecraft even is.)
