I come back months later to laff at whatever the latest Scamlius antic is just to find the regulars still bothering with the local troll :HideThePain:
That guy is not even worth reading and much less replying to.
I've been having a lot of fun with Mad Island, a different thing altogether, but at least, it actually is a game.
Also fuck Maduro.
Is that game even worth playing right now? I've been watching that thread for a while, waiting for it to get a bit more cooked but that version number(0.13) screams "I am incomplete as fuck".

Failed? From what perspective? The game has been in Patreon's top earning and steam's top wishlisted rank for quite some time.
Failed as in this game was supposed to be completed like a decade ago. Now it seems their business model is to never actually complete it l. They seem to try and keep holding on to subs as long as they can; I hope it eventually does come out as a finished product for the patrons sake tho

I really doubt completion of a live service game is good news to either the devs and players. Imagine Respawn announced that Apex Legend is now considered completed and we are moving on to the next game...

I also doubt that the devs think they should complete the game at all, the business model is a success thus far so there's no incentive to risk a change of direction. I'm pretty sure 99.9% of all the porn games that chose a non live service approach didn't make nearly as much money as this one did.

It all boils down to the cold, hard market logic. "Completing a game" sounds fine and dandy, but if the monetary return is unsatisfactory it won't be sustainable (that's why we never hear from some of the best porn game devs such as grimhelm and pixel factory after a couple of releases anymore). This is also supposed to be the reason why they implemented Denuvo.

I would just add that these are different definitions of "completed," Apex Legends was feature complete when it released. They may have since added minor features and new content but what they released was a finished product and it being live service refers to continual improvements and additions post-release.

OL is... not that. It may intend on becoming live service in the future but currently it is more akin to indefinitely extended early access. None of the core gameplay functionality is implemented, or even in roadmaps, and it is being advertised based on what it will (supposedly) be in the future rather than what it is now.

I honestly don't think players (or at least the ones paying for this particular game) really care about the gameplay aspects. At least it's weird to assume that gameplay functionalities are decisive factors for purchasing a porn game.

I did. And when I bought it blind, I thought it was an "erotic rogue-lite tactical game" in Early Access. I would have loved to play that.

I was young and naive.^^

And I don't know if I can say whether I really hope that one day it will be. After all, even 7dtd was completed at some point. On the other hand, when I read what people write here who are more familiar with the background of the project than I am...

I wouldn't call it the decisive factor, at least it doesn't need to be AAA gameplay, but if you've ever seen users playing Illusion titles on release for example the usual complaint is "there's nothing to do."

You need some kind of gameplay loop to introduce characters, space out and deliver content or users will just burn through your looped 3 second animations in an afternoon and get bored. I don't know if you've played the closed beta but OL suffers from this issue in spades. Once you've seen a few of the animations you've really seen it all and there's nothing left to do.

Although even Illusion titles have more at release than this project does, and those games also support mods which add more content and that this game explicitly doesn't support for fear of piracy.

You could say the same for the majority of indie titles here that are inevitably going to get the abandoned tag one day as all they care about is milking paypigs and circlejerking in discord all day until they are bored of the project, like Maeve's academy or Monster Girl Island.

Was banned just because the lead dev didn't like me and wanted to fuck with me and then cried for the jannies here. Not that I did anything wrong. I don't know how making cute fan art like this and even volunteering to help speed the project along is "hate" but they decided to pretend I wasn't making any sense and here we are with the game still as barebones as ever wanting 3 months per "update" that barely adds anything several years in. Then they wonder why no one wants to buy their game.

Bro, your art looks fucking cute and hilarious. nicee

even volunteering to help speed the project along
You fool, That's hate speech because helping complete the project is synonymous with no more money going into his pocket. Of course he hates that.

Don't let the numbers fool ya. The game is at least 80% done (unless the plan to do major revamps, which seems unlikely) and had an update recently. From what I gather, it's only missing the "endgame" or final quest arc (It has 3 main female MCs and only one is not featured yet).
Fallen doll makes it look like a full fledged game.

This is actually a refreshing take, although I don't think the monetary value is there yet; atleast for me. Who knows tho the steam release might change things for the better.

Though I feel like most ppl supported this game w the intention of it being a singleplayer game w some proposed gameplay elements, not a live service public gallery.

No, but the next operator is expected to be Mina, which looks like a redesigned Galatea.
This is why people keep falling for this shit, the models look pretty good.
Does anyone know who is designing them or who the artist is? Cuz it sure as shit ain't scamolus

If that is infact a redesigned Galatea, wish they kept the old hair, something looks awkward
