Not surprised at all about the "progress report", they would have already teased it if they had something done. Given that in the "progress report" there is not a word about actual progress we can expect the rebuild won't be finished in 2022.
Anyone else find it funny that the progress is being split into parts where first part is like 10 sentences and a short clip that probably he didn't make himself? I can imagine Helius after writing that "uff i worked so hard! Now i surely deserve a month of vacation!"

Nothing new, nothing surprising, most devs milk, there is no incentive to finish projects while there a big risks when you need to swap to new one. They create something promising, get people hyped, after some time the patrons top up, at that point the goal is to keep as many of those patrons while doing as little as possible.

I'm only curious if they actually rebuilding or just using it as excuse to build up content for gacha and the rebuild will be just new paint.

He did this when toying with Origins being canceled, and yeah it's likely he'll do it with VR if that gets too technical and possibly even the combat drill or one of either the nightclub or the hentai lab. He's been making the same excuses for 7 years now, he may recycle and mix in just enough new like with the Celia trailer but this is likely to continue the route of evenutally cancel tha main project once he's clearly in over his had. But i don't think it is fair to say that "after 8years only tech demo" . I question that what he shown 8 years ago has any relevance for current project other then him gaining experience. Honestly i disregard anything that he was making as solo dev without any real support. What he should answer for are the last two- three years. IMO Patreon should be responsible for that - they take a cut for nothing. If patrons request it and especially for high profile projects they should dispatch investigator to check what is the dev doing with the money AT THE VERY LEAST (like if they have employees or if the gobble all the money themselves). I think they should be able to also investigate the state of the project and provide report on the state of development.

This was originally Fallen Doll: Paralogue, which is why the exe is still called that in some recent builds before being renamed Operation Lovecraft.

It looks like what's scrapped for now is the single player campaign/story mode (and anything not part of those three topics he posted), and with that the working title since it started as the xcom spin off during Origins. And yeah, origins was fairly well received but there's a reason it's marked abandoned on this site. Iirc it was supposed to have a story and a fuller brothel sim like custom maid 3d and the like that never came about, plus the other girls that got added here. There was some huff about it at the time, but he was getting consistent enough builds out back then that people could over look it since there was still something coming.

And the reason I bring up Daisy in summer is you can see the first iterations of Erika in them. See here. It's not 1-1 Daisy in Summer to Fallen Doll, but each was canceled and rolled into the next so I'd bet you code from Daisy may survive in some sense. In the Patreon update posted a page back you see Helius mention Origins was the base engine he's expanding upon here, so the work is not stand alone and unique. Plus in that article you see concept art for the horror theme that came with paralogue, this version. So it's clear something was being worked towards even then, but yeah it would've been slower than without a team or support. Even so, it mainly just shows that he has a string of abandoned games where one is rolled into another.

Origins was the same game, with the same goals. They basically dropped the campaign in the same manner they have for this title and they've completely killed all links to that build to the point where you can only get cracked copies now.

It certainly had more features, they've actually regressed in many respects over the last few years, but it was by no means completed. There isn't really much point in thinking of it as a different title; it had the same backers with the same goals and it was just left half finished and rebranded.

Daisy in summer probably meets that criteria, but these guys were hiring and seeking funding in 2015 (before the Patreon launch). If you hunt about you can also find posts on Chinese forums and news sites with the same sort of wild claims they make now, one that tickles me is that the University of Michigan was going to let them use their motion capture lab. For a Chinese porn game!

I think ultimately it's entirely relevant that 8 years ago Helius was advertising that he was making a horror porn game with a focus on graphical fidelity and never finished it, when you're considering 8 years on whether he's going to finish a horror porn game with a focus on graphical fidelity that is sitting in a similar state...

I do agree with the investigator part but I don't think that's very likely to happen. They really should conduct some kind of auditing for large projects or projects with a high volume of complaints or that run for longer than expected, but that would essentially be the antithesis of Patreon's business model.

It's exactly what it looks like. She is approved because she was completely reworked into a different character it's not even galatea now they just share the same name. I know it's been years so people have forgot but go take a look of the early galatea model then look at these new stills. Not even remotely close. She is now taller legs are wider ass is bigger and because I am good at fortune telling (being able to read someone's bullshit and predict the future based on it) her breasts are going to be much larger at least alet sized and her face will have been completely reworked to not look even remotely young. Naturally her arms will be wider too to match the leg increase also. It's pretty obvious why in every picture they are avoiding showing the upper half no? Because that fully lets the cat out of the bag that they just scrapped the character and made a new one with the same name and hair colour.

I said this a while back as soon as someone posted the "galatea is now approved for steam woooo" post to not delude your self. They will completely rework the character to the point that it's not even the same character anymore. Don't know if it's hard copium or what but despite being able to put the new pictures of her and the old pictures side by side to see how much has changed people are still expecting the old galatea like what lol.

Then again game still has 17k patrons in years of raking millions a year to make a "game" with a couple animations and like 6 enemy models and in half a year in literally zero updates not even a single animation or outfit with only 1 or if you are lucky 2 news posts a month than hilariously find a different way every time to say "i was going to talk about progress today but instead il talk about this and this and why nothing new has happened" oh lost 3k partrons quick billy break out the "in game screenshots" of the second map that we have had for years because the steam front page literally fucking shows the map in the trailer video but pretend we only just finished it a year later! Like I don't care that so many people are burning money if you are throwing money at something thats clearly a scam you dont deserve money but I hate with a passion seeing scumbags fake a project earn thousands or in this case millions and make nothing just pocket the money for as long as they can. There is a reason kickstarter put a bunch of rules about backing guarantees because when kickstarter was new there was thousands of these scam support projects that showed an idea and fake progress but were never really making anything. They literally had to get law involved to remake the whole site to say "ok this is now a money and time guarantee you show the project you set a time and if you don't deliver you lose everything people donated to you" How does patron not have these same rules? It's amazing because kickstarter went through hell and outrage by everyone before these rules were introduced to protect people from scammers yet here we are years later and patron still allows scams without any punishment it makes no sense at all.

And to any braindead idiots still giving them money on patron sort your fucking life out and realise it's a scam and you are never getting a completed game. And in the end when they throw out a final release of what they made with minimal investment from the millions they milked from you then you will be able to just buy it for 5 dollars on steam instead of the thousands they will have got from you in the years of pretending to make something. Seriously how many years of post updates do you need to read of them saying "yea we are so nearly finished now we will announce it next month, oh hey it's next month we are nearly finished here is a screenshot from 2 years ago that we didn't show yet cool right" Like the last 3 updates have gone from "we are nearly finished with the rebuild" to "we wont talk about progress now here is a character we showed concept art for years ago" to today "actually we are no where near done and it's all your fault for requesting so many features! now we need to spend a long time putting many things into the game to future proof it" even though they have added literally nothing to the game feature list apart from gacha so who knows what the fuck these fake features they are putting in are meant to be too. I just can't watch this shit anymore game looked amazing at first but watching these blatant scammers get away with murder for this long and so many idiots still supporting it just nah. Enjoy whatever censored broken unfinished gacha animation simulator while jacking off online while strangers watch you that you get. End of the day if I want amazing graphics I have honest select 2 with hanmen skin. If I want the monster fucking I have stuff like wildlife. One of my main personal problems with Subverse is that SFOW threw out too many promises at the beginning and then kept breaking them one after another, not mentioning that initially they said it'll be a full game on the release day. So I think they totally deserve the hate.
Aside from that it's a good project, yeah. But come on...

I have to give it to them that they at least implemented A LOT of scenes.
When I played it close to when I made this account there were like 20 scenes total, now there must be over 100, and look at OL, basicaly looking exactly the fucking same as when I first made this account to pirate it lmfao
