You know they have human only servers and plenty of human content, too? At least in the beta, and I'd think after, you should be able to either opt into servers with human and monsters or human only servers. As for the monster I believe it was voted by majority if I understood the situation correctly.

They are adding scenes based on votes i believe and more then half of scenes are non-human. So i would say this is the main appeal of the title also it is not something they have competition in.

I should have phrased that better. I was never interested in playing the game, but was interested to see if the project would actually release. Knowing Helius's track record, unlikely.

I find following the drama and nothingness around the title to be funny.

It does make you wonder why they're doubling down on that sort of content*, it seems like a niche market and I can't even see (based on polls) that there's much support for it amongst active Patreon subs.

It's certainly going to make for some interesting reviews and comment threads on Steam if they ever actually launch the game in early access. Lovecraftian monsters, tentacles, humanoid aliens or robots are one thing, still a bit niche but well worn tropes none the less, but this is probably going to result in some "wtf" moments from unsuspecting Steam users**.

My point was that the pig isn't lovecraftian, it's just a glow in the dark pig with a weird dick. There is a world of difference between lovecraftian monsters that hold little to no resemblance to any real creatures, humanoid aliens and reskinned pigs/dogs.

The latter category enters a kind of perverts uncanny valley where even users that may be totally nonplussed by tentacled monsters, unusually rapey flowers or 8 foot tall alien monstrosities will recoil at a concept the closer it draws to real animals.

Dont most fantasy creatures have some sort of real life basis? I get what your saying, but to freak out over this and not the hound or the 8foot weirdo alien is kinda strange.

As stated in an early post tho, they do have xeno rooms separate from the human only experiments if its too much for you.

Oh I'm not freaking out about it, it's just a model and a few animations so hardly a significant investment of dev resource even if it does actually get implemented. I just think some of the reviews and Steam forum threads from "normal" Steam users are going to be hilarious if this ever actually makes it into a live build (or if we ever actually get a live build).

Still seems like a weird thing to focus on either way. I can't see that it was actually in any historic polls, and most of the polls focus on actual lovecraftian monsters and/or more vanilla content. Perhaps a special request from some Patreon superfan?
